Lake Forest House Rental Photos and Description
House, 5 Bedrooms + Detached Unit, 5 Baths, (Sleeps 10-17)

This North Lake Tahoe Vacation Rental is steps away from Lake Forest Beach Park and boasts incredible views of both Lake Tahoe and the surrounding Sierra Nevada mountains. With a great location less than two miles from Tahoe City, this property has all the conveniences of being in town, yet the solitude of being secluded in the woods.

The layout and size of this home and guesthouse makes it perfect for entertaining with ample room for large families and groups.

Driving through the gates leading up the long driveway, one will be immediately impressed by the exquisite lake and mountain views visible throughout most of the property. Once inside this home, there is a large living room with a leather sectional that pulls-out into a double bed. The sectional is perfectly situated for viewing the flat screen television that sits above the stone fireplace. Off of the living room is a den (that can act as a fifth bedroom) holding two sofas that fold down into twin beds each. Each of these sofas look onto another stone fireplace that helps keep the room cozy at night. This is a perfect place to play some of the home’s provided board games or to curl up and read a book.

The dining area, which holds a table with seating for twelve, leads into the well-equipped, gourmet kitchen. The kitchen containing all brand-new appliances, as well as a large island, provides plenty of space for preparing a holiday meal. With a full wall of windows looking onto the lake, the kitchen stays nice and bright throughout.

Under the large kitchen window is a custom built, full-length bar that seats an additional eight people. This is an ideal spot for enjoying a cup of coffee while taking in the morning lake view.

A centrally located bathroom with stand-up shower, laundry closet with washer and dryer, and a master bedroom featuring a king-sized bed, flat-screen television, and private bathroom complete the first floor.

The living room, dining room, and kitchen all have door access to a large, sunny deck and feature uninhibited lake views. The deck, equipped with outdoor seating and a grill, is an ideal spot for entertaining. The steps off of the deck lead to an even larger grassy area perfect for children’s play, throwing a football, or practicing putting.

Located upstairs are three additional bedrooms. The first bedroom is a second master with a king-sized bed, flat screen television, private bathroom, and lake views. The next bedroom holds a queen-sized bed and also looks directly onto the lake. The last bedroom is perfectly set-up for a small family or for children sharing a room, as it holds both a full-sized and a twin bed. These two bedrooms share a large bathroom at the top of the stairs.

The main house comfortably sleeps 13 people.

Also available on this property is a large, one-bedroom guesthouse that can comfortably sleep four people. Upon entering the guesthouse, there is a large living room with a leather sectional that pulls-out into a double bed, a stone fireplace, and a flat-screen television. Next to the living room is a dining table that seats six with two additional spots available sitting at the kitchen bar.

The small kitchen is well-equipped with a full-sized refrigerator, Wolf range, and all necessary kitchen items. Off of the kitchen is the bathroom, holding a large tub perfect for relaxing after a long day outdoors.

The guesthouse has a large master bedroom with a king-sized bed, flat-screen television, and sitting area with two large reclining leather chairs.

The main house and guesthouse are both equipped with all brand new furniture, linens, towels, dinnerware, etc. and can comfortably sleep a total of 17 people. The property also has wireless internet, telephone, and cable television. With its long driveway, there is ample space for parking multiple vehicles.

This property’s location is great for summer and winter vacations. There is plenty to do during Tahoe’s warmer months whether it is relaxing at the beach right off of the property, swimming or boating in the lake, rafting/tubing the Truckee River, hiking or biking one of Tahoe’s many trails, horseback riding, golfing, kayaking, parasailing, or just shopping in town, there is always plenty to do nearby.

During the winter months, you will have access to World-renowned ski resorts including Squaw Valley (home of the 1960 Olympics) and Alpine Meadows, both a short 15 minute drive from the house. Also located just minutes from the property is the Tahoe Cross-Country Center that offers scenic, diverse terrain of all abilities. You can also enjoy one of the many snowshoe trails, snowmobile tours, sledding, ice-skating, and even dog-sledding.

At night, you can head into town and enjoy one of the many great restaurants and bars Tahoe City has to offer or drive a little further the other direction and spend some time at the casinos in Crystal Bay, less than 10 miles away.

For extended summer and winter activities, as well as important telephone numbers, we provide a guidebook in the house.

Our family has lived in Tahoe for 40 years. I am a local business owner, having established Bruce Olson Construction 40 years ago. We love this area and bought this home to be a rental because we wanted others to enjoy the beautiful Lake Tahoe.

I grew up “summering” at Tahoe to beat the valley heat and fell in love with the massive homes made of stone and wooden beams. This “old Tahoe” feel welcomes and caresses you as you walk into The Lakehouse. Everything about this home is quality from the comfortable leather couches to the subzero refrigerator, wolf range with double ovens, large deck with a spectacular unobstructed lake view, a guest home with the same amenities, and a magnificent and well-manicured yard. We chose this home to host my son’s wedding and everything about our experience was perfect. The manager, Elizabeth, showed us the home twice, was responsive to our multiple questions about the venue, and ensured the landscape and home was flawless for our event. We truly had a Great Gatsby experience and can’t wait to return for a reunion.

Oh, the pictures provided do not show this magnificent property as we saw it; the actual home is much more spectacular as recognized by other reviewers.

Tahoe Living at its BEST!

Our family just returned from a wonderful family reunion at this property. The home is lovely, a perfect combination of "old Tahoe" charm and updated interiors. And trust me, the home and property are much more beautiful than the pictures in the VRBO listing! The house was immaculate, and the location couldn't have been more perfect. We were just a few steps from the shore and only 3 minutes from Tahoe City. We went bike riding, miniature golfing, and boating -- and all these activities were a stone's throw from the home. We loved the BIG gourmet kitchen with its rustic wood island and its breakfast sidebar with 8 chairs! It was our gathering place, where each morning, we drank coffee and shared treasured family stories. The kitchen was outfitted with all the silverware, glasses, and plates that a big group could ever want. The deck was dotted with brand new top-of-the-line outdoor furniture and looked out on a flat grassy area perfect for family games. Through the trees, we had a beautiful view of the lake. Each bedroom had a simple, warm woodsy feel, and the towels in the bathrooms were so thick and soft! The guesthouse was a miniature of the larger home and made a perfect retreat for the nieces at our reunion. It was as nicely decorated and as well-equipped as the main house. We felt we made the perfect choice for our reunion, and we highly recommend this property to others looking for the perfect Tahoe vacation!

Pictures don't tell it all... The Lakehouse is even better than what you see! We couldn't have asked for a more ideal place to host our family or our daughter's wedding. This property is incredibly well maintained and the management more than accommodating to our needs. Our caterer loved the gourmet kitchen, as did we in preparing meals for our large group. The scenery speaks for itself. We highly recommended this home and would definitely travel back to stay again.
