Our Arrival date is approximate. We found this property purely by chance whilst doing a search on the internet.
We booked flights, rented a car and took a week to drive from Toronto to Thunder Bay.
The scenery was breathtaking, and the people we met on our adventure were friendly, welcoming and so interested in talking to us.
The log cabin was all it was described, and was set in the garden of the owners. (This may have changed)
The owners, an expat English couple were very welcoming hosts, who took time to help us in decisions as to what we were going to do each day. They even took us on a walking tour of their property (including into their trappers lodge) and invited us to have Sunday lunch. (They were having Moose) They really couldn't have been more welcoming.
The cabin itself, was very clean and well appointed. We had a few meals prpepared there, but mostly we ate out. There was a Gas BBQ which we did use one night, and the woodburner was useful for boiling the kettle, and heating beans!
Firewood was supplied, and help given to us as we didnt know how to use the woodburner.
Our stay was in Autumn (Fall) and the weather was starting to get cold, so we needed to use the wood burner. Despite an outside temp of -9C we were toasty inside the Cabin.
The town of Thunder Bay is a short car drive away and has more than enough restaurants and shops to keep most people happy. A car is a must here. This is an isolated property. Pure bliss.
Would I recommend this property to friends or relatives? In a flash!!
