After a decade of renting large vacation properties at least four times a year, this property is by far both the nicest property my large family has ever stayed in, and the best value for the dollar. Incredible designer extras abound. To call Lake Nantahala pristine is an understatement - it is the highest lake east of the Rockies, and has virtually no sources of contamination. We loved playing in the waterfalls. Great for families with children of all ages. Excellent flatwater and whitewater (recommend NOC) sports are readily available to boaters, and the owners Cindy and Tom are some of the nicest and most helpful people with whom I've ever done business. Rent the boat the owners recommend - you will enjoy the lake immensely! Zip lining (Wildwater) was fun, too. Also recommend the Spa at Fontana Lake. Best massage ever.

We stayed at Lakehaven in late October with a group from church, and we could not have asked for a more perfect getaway place! The surrounding mountains and lake are gorgeous with some breathtaking views nearby. The home was absolutely beautiful, no photo could completely capture it. The owners were extremely helpful, making sure we had everything we needed for our stay (directions, info on places to eat and hike nearby, etc.). If you are looking for a relaxing getaway, this is it! You will not want to leave! Whether you just want to relax at the house by the fire, or venture out on the Appalachian Trail, I would absolutely recommend staying at Lakehaven.

What a beautiful home! More space than we knew what to do with! Beautifully built and decorated, our kids refered to it as a castle, and loved the beds hanging by chains in the "treehouse bedroom". I think the favorite of the grown ups was the swing in the great room, and the beautiful fireplace in the screened in porch.This gorgeous home is peacefully tucked into the mountains on beautiful Lake Nantahala, where we found fishing plentiful.The owners were very helpful and sincerely cared about our stay.Not only did they include helpful area information, but happily answered any questions we had before arriving. During our stay, we hiked to nearby waterfalls, we rafted on the Nantahala river, and rode horses through the mountains.But at the end of the day we could not wait to return to LAKEHAVEN! Do not pass this rental, you will never regret your stay!

We made the trip from Raleigh to Lakehaven for a weekend getaway with some friends. The home was a perfect size for our group and the home had plenty of things for our group to do. It was also very close to whitewater rafting adventures. The lake was beautiful, the grounds well kept, the home clean and smartly decorated. We wish we could have stayed a week or a month instead of a quick weekend. Would love to visit again!
