When we first saw the pictures of this house on the rental web site, we have to admit it looked too good to be true. But this home lives up to expectations in every possible way. You really feel like you are stepping into the pages of "House Beautiful" magazine.

But more importantly, everything is arranged to make it very easy to settle in easily on our arrival. We immediately felt comfortable there. The house is fully equipped and very well organized. Things that you need are almost always where you'd guess they'd be. Also, there's a large three ring binder full of handy information, from rubbish pickups to beach info, to restaurant menus, to local sightseeing and activities info.

We are originally from Cape Cod, so we feel we are spoiled as far as beaches go, but we fell in love with Silvershell Beach, Marion's town beach. Our grandkids had a ball there, and we loved watching all the sailboats going in and out of the harbor (We also loved watching them from the deck at the house every evening). And most nights (and some
mornings) the "walk to the point" was a relaxing way to get some exercise and enjoy the spectacular scenery.

We are grateful for our three week stay here. It was a vacation to remember.

We are so glad we found this beautiful house. It offers everything we wanted for our months stay. The house was charming, comfortable, clean...a true "home away from home". It is ideal for a large family (or two) and in a beautiful location. The view over the inlet is gorgeous. We would certainly recommend this house to anyone wanting a relaxed family break.

P.S. Owners and neighbors very friendly and helpful!!!

Run, don't walk... to see this beautiful summer home. My family and I have spent two wonderful summer vacations with a few of our relatives in this clean, open, bright, and comfortable home. Sunny days were perfect for swimming, boating, fishing, biking, barbequing, and relaxing. There was plenty to do on rainy days in and around Marion as well. The owners, our hosts, were warm, friendly, and so very helpful in every way. My family and I were lucky to have found such an extraordinary rental home.

This Marion property is spectacular with a
wonderful view of Buzzards Bay, charming
sandy beach and a great lawn. House is
spacious with 20 foot ceilings, modern, and
very comfortable especially the beds.
Kitchen is spacious and well equipped with
bar and open DR and LR. Furniture is
terrific. Best part is a large L-shaped deck
with lots of tables, chairs and a superb grill.
Home even has a two car garage and
fishing poles. What could be better. A truly
delightful quiet place to relax, enjoy, and
watch the sailboats leaving or going to
Sippican Harbor.

It was with great trepidation that we booked our first on-line two week holiday, knowing nothing about the town of Marion in southern Massachusetts, but over the months we established such a warm relationship, through our many emails with Margaret that we began to feel more confident. She send us so many wonderful pictures of the house that we really felt we knew it and we became more & more excited as July approached. Margaret could not have been more helpful with informations and very kindly offered to help us settle in, as we would not be arriving from England until late on the Saturday evening.

When we arrived after an exhausting journey, with the usual annoying hitches (but no problems with the excellent directions!) we immediately felt we had arrived home, with welcoming lights and an immaculate, spacious, excellently furnished house.

Despite some pretty bad weather (very unusual, we understand) we always found plenty to do, with so many places of interest in easy reach. We have rented many houses in different parts of the world and this Home far exceeds any other holiday rental. We also found the little town of Marion absolutely delightful and everyone so friendly.

I must admit that it has been quite hard to overcome the desire to keep this wonderful, peaceful, house a secret, but we really wish the hosts every success. I know this all sounds a bit over-the-top, but the proof is that we enjoyed our stay so much that we have booked already to return for 3 weeks next summer (2004). I think this is the best recommendation we can give.

We recently stayed 3 weeks at this amazing property. Look no further this is IT!! I spent hours and days searching, then when we arrived, I checked out the places I turned down...what a difference!!
First- lets talk about the town of Marion. It is THE best town in the area by far, with Padenarem in S. Dartmouth being a distant second. Marion is the quaint, pristine New England town that we all look for. Wonderful harbor with boats bobbing, the old General Store with original hardwood floors, great produce, cheeses, meats, bakery and friendly owner-operators. The wine shop next door is nice, lovely antique stores, art galleries, it looks like time stood still. Surrounding towns are surprisingly much less clean, less charming and less desirable. Lovely beach, also very clean, nice kids playground, lots of families. Boy were we glad we rejected The Cape!! The Cape is just a short drive but here is what we found--The cape is full of angry traffic, tourist choked towns that were once as charming as Marion is now. (Dont miss Marion's Sippican Cafe- great local spot with not good but GREAT food). THe house: WONDERFUL! Clean, very clean! A private setting with a nice view, wonderful yard, great screened porch on one side of the wide deck, complete with comfy rockers. Nice grill, gardens and a natural pathe to the beach. Great sunrise views from the upstairs master where there is also a fabulous jacuzzi tub. The house has a great open floor plan where a whole family can be comfortable without bumping into each other. The kitchen has state of the art appliances, sharp knives, all the newest kitchen gadgets, and even great dishes and glassware. Everything you need for even major cooking is there. The linens are new, the rooms are big, great beds, large, clean bathrooms, great showers. Every detail is covered. You will wish you owned this house! The owners are the perfect hosts and really care about your stay. This is not just a rental property (the scary part of searching on line - for me) it is their dream home, and you feel it from the moment you arrive. We will plan our trips around its availablity from now on!!
Happy Trails, Resa Wing
