Our spacious 2 bedroom waterfront beach rental is located right on the sand. Watch the glorious sun rise from your own private patio. Walk five minutes west to catch the action of the Pacific Ocean. Perfect for singles, couples or small families. This unit is uniquely set in Mission Beach which is located between the Beautiful Pacific Ocean and quiet scenic Mission Bay. Step out your Bayfront patio door right to the sand. Put on your skates, hop on a bike or leisurely walk for miles on the boardwalk located along the water. You can rent almost any thing you need with in a 5 minute walk. World class surfing, sailing, golfing, and fishing are all easily accessible from your unit. The Skimmer is owner managed which allows us to keep it in top condition while being kept welcoming and impeccably clean. La Jolla, Sea World and the World Famous San Diego Zoo are all minutes away

We offer many amenities for your comfort.: Our kitchen is fully stocked for your cooking pleasure. We even include: Dish soap, paper towels, laundry soap, plastic wrap, aluminum wrap, spices, assorted teas just name a few of the extras for your convenience and pleasure. The vacation unit has cable television, VCR and DVD. All linens and bath towels are provided with 4 pillows on your comfortable King bed and two pillows for each twin bed. Beach towels and beach chairs are provided to ease your load and get you ready for your days in the sand.

-The master bedroom has a wonderfully comfortable king bed with crisp cotton sheets and linens. It also has its own powder room. with a 1/2 bath comes with a very comfortable king bed for your comfort and is decorated with colors reflecting the sand and the sea.

- Twin beds are provided for, in the second bedroom

-The sofa opens to accommodate one extra guest

- Bathrooms include a 3/4 bath and a 1/2 bath in the master bedroom.

- The Skimmer's living room opens to your own private gated patio

- Open the gate and there you are - At the beach, no better place to vacation with friends or family

Activities:

If you are looking for that beach experience, come and discover the uniqueness of Mission Beach in the heart of America's Finest City, San Diego. Swimming, sailing, surfing, skating, biking, golfing, fishing and sight seeing are just a few of the activities at your doorstep. Sea World is 5 minutes away, Mexico is 17 miles to the south, Disney Land is 2 hours to the North and the World Famous La Jolla is a 10 minute drive from your door.

You are walking distance to waterfront dining, or casual beach eateries. You can easily shop for groceries, and plan your own picnic or romantic meal while sitting at the beach and watching the sunset on the glorious Pacific Ocean.

We had an awesome family vacation at The Skimmer at A Vacation by the Bay. Cyndi, the owner and longtime resident of Mission Bay, was great. She greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour of the unit and answered any questions we had. The property was impeccably clean and ready for us upon check in. Everything we could have needed for the week was there provided for us, including an information booklet about the area with things to do. The location was perfect for a family with children. We could easily watch our kids play on the beach from the patio safely. The view was spectacular, including an amazing display of the fireworks from Sea World every night. I would highly recommend this property or any of the ones offered by A Vacation by the Bay. We hope to return again next year!

We will be back!!!!!

This vacation rental, called The Skimmer, was just as described from the photos and description. You are right on the beach front on the bayside which was perfect for our family. We had visiting grand kids and they were able to play right out front on the beach.
We did go over to the ocean a couple of days in the afternoon, but mainly we were content to relax at the bay's beach. We did visit the Zoo and Cabrillo Monument during the week as suggested.
Cyndi was great, she greeted us upon arrival and did a quick walk through and we were able to ask her a couple of questions.
The Skimmer is very cute with a nautical theme through out. The King bed in the master was very comfortable, just as promised too.
Everything was really clean and the rental was in top shape and showed that its well cared for. We have rented vacation rentals before and never had so much attention to detail as this one. There are ample restaurants to pick from and never ran out of fun things to do.
All in all, it was a great vacation that I am really glad we had together.
Yes I would recommend this rental to friends.

Our location is really quite nice on the beach front bayside. The bayside is really a wonderful choice for any one wanting a more serene vacation, or for families with young children who can play safely right out front on the water's edge.
Not only are we a nice choice for weekly vacation rentals, we are also really great choice for snow birds wanting break from the cold winter months in January and February.
We do care about your experience from start to your completed stay.

Thank you for everything! We thoroughly enjoyed our week, in San Diego, at the beach in your rental. Your location was perfect as the kids could run right out the door onto the sand and play.

The accommodations were just as you described, comfortable fresh beds, well stocked kitchen and the rental was spotless and well maintained. The decor was tropical and we felt we were really at the beach.
We really appreciate you going above and beyond with your attention to details and all the helpful information about where to eat and the great sites to see in San Diego. I can recommend this rental to anyone!

We spent a week at this wonderful place and did not want to leave. The property was SO clean and the customer service was unbelievable! It made it a very memorable time for us in San Diego...will be back!!
