A Perch in Paradise

Artichoke Los Angeles
Review Submitted: February 20, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Manzanillo is where the Mexican countryside meets the sea. The views from this condo let you enjoy both. It's also a 5 minute cab ride to a well-stocked supermarket, with ready-made meals you can enjoy in your new home. Then head for the glamorous and heated swimming pool to swim under the moon and stars. The condo is well-appointed from the towels to the computer, spotlessly clean, neighbors are friendly and the locale is very safe. And Colima is considered the safest state in Mexico and Manzanillo the safest spot in that state. Be prepared to fall in love.
Owner's Response: Molly, thank-you. And imagine what you would have written if you didn't have to deal with the hassle of posting this comment! I'm working hard with Homeaway.com to make their review process better. On the other hand, you can be assured there are no fraudulant reviews!

It has been a pleasure having you as our guest. From the first contact to the last, all dealings have been a pleasure(and I know there will be more).

But most Molly, "thank-you" for taking the time to submit the comment. As I state on my website, it's the reviews from past guests that are the ultimate measure of trust for potential guests making a decision from afar. Thank you for helping them, well, and me too!

Coulee View Alberta, Canada
Review Submitted: April 4, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
Our stay at Condo Carlos can be summed up in one word -wonderful. A comfortable condo with a supply of books, cds and dvds. A tremendous view of the bay with the added attraction of bustling hummingbirds and stately pelicans. In addition the complex has lovely pools and interesting residents. Service is friendly and efficient. Down in the town we could shop in the local markets or modern shopping centers. Or take a trip to Guadalajara where one can find stunning Mexican products. A car was very helpful to climb the rather steep hill to the condo and explore the Colima region. So gasp at the sunset, walk the great beach, sample Mexican food and learn some Spanish. That what we do and we love it.
Owner's Response: Walter and Norma: Thanks so much for the kind words. It's too bad everyone can't live in a Mexico for a month or two, to explore like the 2 of you. I'm glad you enjoyed the condo, and even more, I'm glad you enjoyed the surrounding Mexican culture. You're welcome back anytime. Eric

Love Santiago Bay

shak Roberts Creek BC Canada
Review Submitted: February 20, 2009 Date of Stay: January 2009
We had a wonderful time at Condo Carlos...everything there that we needed. Could never get enough of that view over Santiago Bay. The top deck was such a perfect, quiet and private spot for meditation and yoga. The pools with their flowers and views are so pretty and the complex has a lovely established character. We like "no tourist fluff" atmostphere of Santiago neighbourhood with all amenities handy. We especially enjoyed the walk down to the beach at Santiago Bay where we spent most of our time with Mexican families holidaying (and snacking!). Don't miss the tamale lady!

Thanks to Eric for providing professional and friendly service. We really enjoyed the low-key, friendly energy of Condo Carlos and Manzanillo.
Owner's Response: Thanks Carrie for the wonderful review and comments. And you're right, the view is very easy to take, day or night, from the 2 upper decks or the lower deck. And what about the nighly breeze from the mountains to control the heat?

And thanks too for the personal comment. Our intent is to make your vacation peaceful and hassle-free. Yoga and meditation would fit into the category!

We enjoyed having you as our guest; if the situation allows, we would love you have you back.

Comments in french,
Thanks Eric
Owner's Response: At least in Spanish I would have had a chance to understand what you wrote! Nevertheless, the few words I can understand seem to be positive! And the part I know I understand--Claude and Marthe, you are welcome. I hope to see you again, sometime soon. Eric

Hi Eric!
Our apologies for such a delayed thank you for our stay in your very comfortable condo at El Faro last November. Betty was great as were all the staff.
The views are incredible and yes, the fresh breeze going through the condo is most welcoming, as too, are your neighbours, some we met from our own home town.
We also enjoyed meeting you and hope to again as we took the "plunge" and purchased our own condo in Manzanillo. We cannot say enough about the people, beaches, food and the relaxing atmosphere of Manzanillo.
Many thanks and it was a pleasure.
Chris & Ted
Owner's Response: Chris & Ted: It was a pleasure having you as our guest. And "welcome" to Manzanillo; it is a wonderful, wonderful town. All the best to you both. Eric

mANZANILLO AND THIS CONDO. WAS A WONDERFUL ALMOST FIVE WEEKS FOR US THIS dECEMBER/jANUARY. cHRISTMAS/NEW YEAR WAS A DELIGHT OF MUSIC AND FESTIVITIES RISING FROM THE TOWNS BELOW US, THE CONDO. VERY ALIVE WITH FRIENDLY FAMILIES FROM MANY LOCATIONS. wE ESPECIALLY ENJOYED THE DEEP POOL, THOUGH COOLER THAN THE OTHER POOL IT WAS FUN TO WATCH THE BIG BIRDS CIRCLE BELOW US, AND THE ACTIVITY BELOW IN THE BEACH AREAS. tHE CONDO. WAS IMMACULATELY CLEAN AND TIDY. wE FOUND A CAR VERY USEFUL FOR HALF OF OUR STAY, PARKING AT THE DOOR MOST TIMES, AND WE ENJOYED THE WALK AT OTHER TIMES. cAB FARE WAS VERY INEXPENSIVE IF WE CHOSE NOT TO WLAK BECAUSE WE HAD PARCELS. tHE READING AVAILABLE IN THE CONDO. ABOUT THE AREA WAS WONDERFUL - READ IT EARLY IN YOUR STAY! tHIS WAS NOT OUR FIRST VISIT TO THE CITY, BUT eRIC'S KITCHEN DRAWER HELD LOTS OF INFORMATION WE HAD NOT READ OF ANYWHERE ELSE! wE SAW WHALES FROM THE DECKS ALMOST DAILY WHEN WE LEARNED TO WATCH FOR THEM EARLY IN THE DAY, AND WE SAW RAYS LEAPING FROM THE SHORE. wE TOOK THE INEVITABLE WRONG BUSSES AT TIMES AND KEPT ON THEM TO FIND ABSOLUTELY JOYOUS EXPERIENCES, NIGHT AND DAY! LATE NIGHT WE FOUND TO BE ESPECIALLY EXCITING. wITHOUT EXCEPTION WE FOUND THE LOCAL PEOPLE WONDERFULLY KIND. oUR TRIPS THIS TIME TOOK US TO THE VIEWPOINT ON THE HIGHWAY IN mICHOACAN VIA SIDE ROADS, TO cOMALA VIA THE BACK ROADS AS WELL AS THE HIGHWAY, AND TO THE cAREYES AREA - i WOULD RECCOMMEND EVERYONE TRY THESE THINGS. [nO, THE MAPS, EVEN CURRENT, ARE ?SOMETIMES NOT QUITE RIGHT, BUT IT IS WORTH PERSERVERING! tHERE IS A HUGE COMFORTABLE BED AND A COOL BREEZE, A WONDERFUL DECK bbq, AND ALL YOU NEED IS YOUR PERSONAL BAG!
Owner's Response: Brenda: Thanks for the wonderful comments about the condo, but perhaps more importantly, the great comments about the Manzanillo area. Manzanillo truly is a gem--safe, friendly and interesting. I'm so glad you enjoyed yourselves. And yes, isn't that breeze in the condo, day or night, a beautiful thing! All the best to you both. And "thanks" for choosing to stay with us. Eric

We spent the whole month of Feb, 2006, in this beautiful condo. The views are fabulous, and the weather there is great. This is a perfect place for two. I enjoyed having a computer to use and keep in touch with the family. We would recommend Condo Carlos and Manzanillo for a great vacation.
Owner's Response: Thanks for the comments Jean. You're welcome back anytime, anytime at all.

Eric: What a fabulous place. Perfect for the two of us. This location, and indeed, the Condo complex itself is mentioned in almost every publication we have reviewed. We feel like royalty. Beautiful views, great location, well maintained. All in all, this was a wonderful holiday.
Owner's Response: Brian and Jill: Well, we've never described Condo Carlos as a palace before, but if it Carlos allowed you to feel like a "King & Queen", for even a while, then we're glad for you! Thanks for taking the time to enter your comments.
