Photos and Description of the Glen Arbor vacation condo rental
1BR/1BA Condo, sleeps 4

Everything 'up north' should be - Our condo is private, clean, comfortable, and conveniently located on the property of the Homestead Resort. This means you are just minutes from the beach, groomed hiking and ski trails, and the ski village. Just down the road is Glen Arbor, Glen Lakes and the Sleeping Bear Dunes. Glen Arbor offers resort shopping and a choice of delightful restaurants. Spend an afternoon on crystal clear Glen Lake or the Crystal River boating, fishing, canoeing or 'rump bumping.' A trip up north wouldn't be complete without the challenge of climbing the Sleeping Bear Dunes or a visit to 'fishtown,' Leland. From our villa you are just a scenic drive to all the other Leelanau Peninsula treasures- orchards, vineyards, golf courses, horse trails, historic sites and casinos.

Come, Be Our Guests: Tucked in the northwoods, renters comment on how private, clean, and comfortable villa is. Easy 3-step entry welcomes you to relax in the great north woods. Start the morning with the birds and a cup of coffee on our wooden deck. After a walk through the woods, a day at the beach, a game of golf, or a drive around the peninsula visiting wineries, relax in our jacuzzi tub. Then settle down to a fire in the fireplace and a good movie on the DVD player. Ready for bed, tuck yourself in to comfort in our king-size sleigh bed and dream about returning.

Glen Arbor: Just 40 minutes east of Traverse City is the quaint town of Glen Arbor. Nestled on the shores of Lake Michigan, it's a destination spot in any season. Summer attracts Glen Lake & Lake Michigan boaters, sailors, hikers, dune climbers, cyclists and sun worshipers. The restaurants are open late luring you in with their fare. Some even have live nightly entertainment. The shop doors are open enticing you to buy everything from Cherry wine to carved cherry wood tables. Plan accordingly and you can catch an art, polka, or jazz festival. Fall brings a quietness to the town. It's a perfect time to take a color tour through the scenic hills, catch a game of golf, or walk through any number of groomed trails. Perhaps you'll spot a deer, porcupine, red fox, or raccoon. We have. Winter fun begins on the down-hill slopes or cross-country trails. When spring arrives, everyone celebrates by hunting Morrell mushrooms and spotting Trillium as they poke through the winter leaves. Come, join us.

Area Attractions: Come, discover all of the Leelanau Peninsula treasures with us. Be awed by the Sleeping Bear Dunes or Lake Michigan or marvel at the beauty of a wildflower growing along one of the many groomed hiking trails. Tucked throughout the peninsula are vineyards, wineries, golf courses, lakes and scenic lookouts. For the nostalgic is Leland, a turn-of-the century fish town still practicing its trade but expanded to welcome inquisitive visitors. Empire too boasts a maritime museum depicting the wrath and splendor of Lake Michigan travel. Why you can even find a home-made cheese shop and family drive-in theater. For the modern sophisticate is Traverse City, just east on M-72. North of TC is the casino at Peshawbeston. To the south is fine arts school at Interlochen which hosts local and international artists throughout the year. No matter where you go in the area, there is something to do and something to see. So come, be our guest and experience all that 'Up North' was meant to be.

We had a very lovely stay in this cute condo. The location is perfect, close to the village. Easy lower level park-at-the-front door access. Loved the fireplace with ample wood supply just outside the door. Too cold for the patio on this trip but nice woodsy view. Other reviews about the nice king size bed are spot on, very comfy. Deidre is very easy to work with and extremely responsive. Great experience!

Need a place to escape with comfort, this is it. We found the unit (ideal for two) to be extremely comfortable, with all the comforts of home. It was especially nice to have a washer/dryer on site. We came home with no dirty clothes. Location was ideal for trails, wildlife, kayaking, shopping, casinos, etc. Nice to be away from traffic and crowds. I would have liked to have been closer to Lake Michigan but it was easily accessible, long walk-short drive. We would rent this unit again and that is the best rating the owners could receive.

Lovely weekend

The condo was exactly as described and as pictured. The only negative, and I hesitate to mention, just because most people would not care, is that there is no internet. This was a minor problem for us as we could not get cell phone reception at all times. It was very clean with attention to detail and beautiful views. We loved walking the beach and into town.

Owner's Response: Lovely response. Thank you. For those wanting to "plug in", internet service is available at the reception center, Cavanaughs, and several places in town.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Galardi's villa at THE HOMESTEAD. Very comfortable king size bed. View was AWESOME. Condo was spotless. Had breakfast on porch-patio, amongst the forest of trees, every morning. What a wonderful way to start the day.

This condo was a great place to relax and enjoy the beauty of the Sleeping Bear area. The listing was accurate in description and photo's. It was clean and had plenty of linens. The owner was prompt in communication and gave detailed instructions regarding the condo. My husband and I enjoyed hiking, cross country skiing, and relaxing at the condo. We would definitely return and would recommend this condo to others.

My husband and I had a fantastic visit. The condo was true to the description and provided a great base from which to visit Sleeping Bear Dunes and the quiet towns of Leelanau Peninsula. The furniture was comfy and the fireplace warmed us up nicely. A great place to stay if you want to sightsee in the Fall, but want to avoid busy Traverse City.

Recently enjoyed a stay, and already looking forward to a return trip. This was the first time I'd booked entirely based on only online information. I was impressed with how the accommodations matched the descriptions well. The condo is nicely appointed in all ways. Deer walked right passed the windows in the morning. The owner alerted me to some construction being done near the property before our arrival which was really helpful. As I mentioned, we will definitely return.

Wedded Bliss

The Homestead Resort was the sight of our beautiful wedding in August 2010. We loved the resort but were elated to find a condo within the resort at such a great price! It was perfect for the two of us. My sister and I had plenty of room to get ready for the wedding at the same time and we added a couple others that helped us. The accomodations were perfect. My husband and I would love to get the brand name of the mattress because it was the most comfortable bed! For the first time in many months we both woke up without a backache. There was plenty of closet space for all of our wedding clothes and honeymoon wardrobe for a continued trip further up north.

We cannot thank you enough for taking some of the worry ut of our wedding planning. The condo was the perfect place to unwind and relax. What a great way to start our married life!

Cozy, comfortable winter escape

My wife and I just got from our stay at this lovely condo at the Homestead resort. I have to say, I was very pleasantly surprised with these accommodations. We decided somewhat last minute to get away for a few days during the Christmas holiday and felt like this is just what we needed. It looked even better in person that it did in the pictures in my opinion. For the two of us, the size was just right. As other reviewers have mentioned, yes, the kitchen is small, but you can make it work for a few days without a problem at all. Since we arrived on Christmas day and no other restaurants were open in the area, we planned in advance and brought pasta, salad and some red wine. It would be difficult to cook much more than that in this kitchen, but we knew this and it worked out just great. It was also perfect for breakfast and making sandwiches for lunch to save some money for a nicer dinner.

I liked how easy it was to access this condo from the main entrance, but still felt very tucked away in the woods. You can park very close to the door, so bringing luggage in was not a hassle as some condos on the property might be. You are in easy walking distance to "the village" where there are a few restaurants and other stores, ski hill, etc. right on the property, as well as a 5 minute drive to downtown Glen Arbor. The king sized bed was awesome -- so good that my wife now wants one for our own house. The renters we extremely friendly and easy to work with and everything went off without a hitch. I would recommend this condo highly and hope to return in the near future.
