Our family of 6 (3 young kids ages 8, 4, 1, plus Grandma) just returned from our week at this villa. The pictures on this site don't show it all - the house is pretty big and well spaced out/designed with large bedrooms, gorgeous bathrooms (2 ensuite), large beds in all of the rooms and the pool is bigger than it looks. The outside patio is really large and we used the grill several times. The house has wifi, as does the little market on the property. Also, I loved the fact that the house was all one level (since we have a 1-year old just learning to walk) with a washer and dryer, which means you don't have to pack as much!

We had a family of about 10-12 monkeys (with babies) visit us several times in the trees right off the patio! A definite highlight. Lots of geckos running around, saw a couple of iguanas and tons of different birds. While there were bugs, we didn't experience any issues with them at all. The little beach on the property was empty; there are no waves so it's good for little ones. There are a few palapas down there to use. The sand is rocky with shells - we found some really awesome ones to bring home. A 10-minute drive away is Playa Blanca with soft sand and a bit bigger waves, plus Jimmy's beach bar. The closest "town" is 25-minutes away in Jicaral and most day trips are about 2-hours drive away. But there are a handful of restaurants within 10-20 minutes away. At first I wasn't sure about choosing this "remote" location but I'm glad we did - it takes a long time to drive anywhere in Costa Rica anyways and this area was not touristy. We really felt like we had an authentic experience.

If you plan to do any driving around Costa Rica at all, get a 4x4 (which most of the rentals are anyways; even the smaller SUV's down there are 4x4). The dirt roads around the country make you feel like you are four wheelin'!

Arlene is a new addition to the staff at Roma del Mar and she handles all of the tours - she is awesome. We really enjoyed working with her.

I looked at probably 15 different options before booking this home and I really felt I made the best choice. We had the ease of use of having a beautiful and large private home, but the assistance with tours and information like you get at a resort. We felt really safe.

When we walked through the front door of this home, we were amazed at the beautiful view. Through the front door we looked through the living room out to an infinity pool that framed the hills and bay. The house had 3 lovely bedrooms and 4 bathrooms with lots and lots of space. The deck around the pool was great. I must say it was one of the must beautiful homes I have ever stayed at. It was also very clean and the caretaker, Jenny, was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to anyone. The only thing we wished we had were more friends to enjoy it with!

The listing was very accurate on this location. Not only was the house fabulous, but the development - Roma del Mar is very quiet and secluded which only enhanced the experience. Owners/Managers Lars and Jenny were most helpful and attentive!
The house is open and the sitting areas inviting. Nothing as inviting as breakfast on the deck by the pool. We relaxed and enjoyed the house and the area immensely. Had a great time meeting some of the other inhabitants (monkeys, birds and people!) The kitchen is equipped with everything you might need for a large hungry group. The washer and dryer make it easy to pack light and keep things clean.
The views from the deck and the pool were amazing, we hardly knew there was anyone else around us. It was a challenge to decide if we wanted to leave and explore elsewhere for the day with so much to enjoy at the house and in the development. It was wonderful to have the house and all its comforts to come back to at night after exploring the hills and valleys around the area.
Anil was ever gracious with our many questions and made us feel most comfortable in their beautiful home.

Heaven on earth! Spectacular view, Beautiful house and surroundings. Everything one can ask for on a vacation in midst of nature with modern amenities. Very well maintained. Unforgettable! I would recommend this to my friends and family.

My husband and I along with family members visited this stunning and beautiful newly constructed house in the mountains of eco-friendly Costa Rica. As soon as you open the front door, you stand there staring at an expanse of windows, wall to wall & ceiling to floor. From there, you see an infinity pool & Jacuzzi, next the Pacific Ocean and finally the horizon. Everything is on one floor with bedrooms and baths to accommodate at least six people. The pristine bathrooms will immediately make you feel at home with its walk-in rain shower and spray jets in the master bedroom. The house has 3 full baths and a guest bath, also very nice. It also has a laundry room with washer & dryer. So it's perfect for a family gathering. The modern kitchen with granite counter tops and stainless steel appliances made it ideal for the number of great cooks in our family. So we only ate out twice in a week of our stay. It was so comfortable, to wake up to breakfast, later a light lunch and then in the evening a great meal, never having to leave the house and taking a dip in the pool every now-and-then. We just had a lot of fun with each other. Since we live in different parts of the country, it made it even more special. In fact, it was the best goodwill that my husband & I could bestow on my family. They said we took “vacation” to a new level. Also, the service was great and because of that, everything is virtually at your fingertips. And you must also visit the private beach. Everything was simply lovely.

This place is beautiful, modern, secluded and very clean. We spent 8 days in paradise, monkeys were in the trees nearby, the pool and jaccuzy was a definite treat and the people around were very friendly and helpful. The owner was great at communicating with us. Will definately recommend this place to friends and family.

I must say we were pleasantly suprised...the website pictures do not do this home justice. It is absosultely beautiful with all the amenities you need and then some. The inifinty pool and the jacuzzi were a definite treat. The home is very well maintained and the manager Rolf could not have been more accommodating. We plan on coming back in April of next year. It was a very nice experience doing business with the owner as he supplied all the necessary information we needed to navigate our way to this most beautiful area of Costa Rica. Oh almost forgot please take advantage of the massage therapist available in the area....she was amazing.
