Beyond our expectations

We rented this beautiful. well furnished, and cared for home for the month of March and loved every moment! We had the most ideal weather conditions so we could enjoy the pool, spa, nearby lakes/walking paths/park/tennis courts/ etc every day. My stepfather especially enjoyed being able to catch and release fish...one of his favorite activities and not expected in Arizona! The home was spacious and the kitchen well appointed. The peninsula was our favorite gathering place and we loved the dining room for our nightly card games. Having the third full bath was a real asset for 6 adults. We loved the lanai where we used the grill and ate often. Perhaps the only thing I would change at this home is the furniture on the lanai...it's just not comfortable for any length of time.The bedrooms had comfortable beds and plenty of closet space. My personal favorite was the queen bedroom which shared a balcony with the master suite. The covered balcony was quiet, had great views and was the perfect get away for morning coffee, sunrises, and stars at night. My mom used it daily for sewing and reading. The master was perfect for my mom and stepdad who are in their 80's and usually get up during the night. The master allowed them to do that safely and quietly. The pool and spa were used by all everyday...and the spa by some at night when the stars were spectacular. We enjoyed using the fireplace a couple of cool nights. Being able to open all the windows was wonderful and brought us the fresh air we hadn't experienced in months! We went to baseball games, the botanical gardens, Heard Museum, Phoneix museum of art, 2 art shows which were great, the Star Tower, shopping malls, and many road trips to see the area(you definitely need a car here). We all hiked the mountain behind our house. Having the Safeway so close was wonderful and we voted it best grocery store in the area. We ate at restaurants but really enjoyed the peace and quiet on the bug-less lanai, the views of the mountains, and warmth of the Arizona sun....things we don't have in Illinois. For us this home had everything we wanted and more. It was the most relaxing, rejuvenating vacation I have ever had. We will definitely try to find another time to return. Oh, after reading other reviews, I should add that we received immediate replies from Lynn to questions we had and our security deposit return was timely.

Peace and Quiet

After a hectic time touring the Rockies in Colorado we wanted a relaxing time in AZ, where we come every year. We certainly got it here in Goodyear which was our first time in this area. Lovely large house as there were only 2 of us and the most welcome pool at the end of the day. Most days we just had breakfast in and never got to use the wonderful Bar B Q, but we thoroughly enjoyed the time, and there was everything one could wish for in the house should you want to eat in. Safeways is only 2 miles away.
The house is in a quiet location on a cul de sac so you are not disturbed by traffic and the neighbours were welcoming, they invited us to a pool party.
As no one was coming in on the day we left the owner very kindly let us have a late check out as our flight home was not until 7pm Thank you Lynn.
The house is suitable for couples and families.

Anniversary Couple

This vacation property is exceptionally cared for, spacious and beautifully decorated. You will notice the well cared for grounds, the swimming pool and spa and the beautiful mountains in the background. You will approach the rear door from the well appointed patio and when you open the door you immediately feel welcome. The inside of the home is decorated in a SouthWestern style and has a very calming effect and overall is very luxurious.
There is a large lake, beautifully landscaped with a walking area around it. Also, water sports with boats available, along with tennis, with golfing nearby. The StarPointe Owners Club has a gym, exercise room, lap pool and swimming pool, waterslide, etc. Realatively nearby there is much to do, such as visiting the unique RED mountains of Sedona, Az.
One would not wish to miss sitting on the 2nd floor balcony either at night with the stars shining brightly overlooking the towns nearby or having early morning coffee.
We had a marvelous trip celebrating our anniversary and would highly recommend this home to anyone looking for a fabulous vacation.

Nice place but problems with security deposit return -

This is a lovely property and we enjoyed our stay despite not having the most comfortable of beds in the room with 2 singles. Problems arose in getting our security deposit returned in a timely manner. The contract said within 21 days after vacating the property - why it should take that long beats me, but we signed it. In effect it took 44 days to receive the refund. We were told that the US bank would not do a bill pay as "they do not mail out of the US". I know we are not the first Canadians to rent this property so why is this a surprise and a cause for further delay. We paid by paypal - could it not have been returned to my paypal account? When I finally did receive a cheque sent by snail mail my name was spelled incorrectly. Luckily my bank accepted the cheque for deposit - not all banks would.
When booking this property I was hesitant because of a previous review stating problems with returning the deposit. I hope they will do better for other renters in the future. I'm not sure I would do it again.

The guest is responsible for paying anything above 20% of "normal" use to our gas, electric or water bills. There is no way to gage this unless we allow time for the bills to come in from the previous month. There security deposit was due to be returned 21 days "after" thier depature date of April 21st which brings us to around May 15th. This is our fifth visit to Estrella Mountain Escape since 2004. The house is comfortable for our extended family reunions. Originally we came to the house to attend baseball spring training. Our subsequent visits have been to relax and enjoy the accommodations and swimming pool and the beautiful surroundings of this home. The outdoor living provided by the beautiful patio, the flag stone terrace, the fenced and gated pool can't be matched in other rentals we have seen. Our grandchildren are young and the security provided by the fenced pool allows the adults to relax. Hiking the mountain at the back of the house is a favorite activity. The views from the top are amazing. We also enjoyed the addition of the stores and use of the Starpointe Club facility this year. We enjoy the peace and quiet and the sounds of the birds. The owner/manager responded quickly to any issues which arose. Thanks for another excellent experience.

Great Time

We had an outstanding time. A couple of issues but Lynn looked after them the same day even though she was in Mexico on her Holiday. Great Pool/Hot-Tub Great Home with lots of room very Quite. So you will really enjoy the walks on Estrella North and South Lakes takes exactly 1 hour from the house if you do both. We stayed 1 month and really enjoyed the Golf Club at Estrella approx 1 mile from the house and make sure you get the residence rates. Most shopping is a ways away but not a real big problem we used our Garmin a lot. Thanks again Lynn we really had a great time.

My family absolutely loved our stay. We have three boys, who loved swimming in the pool and hiking up the hill behind the house. The house had everything we needed and was very homey. We had a very relaxing trip and look forward to renting the house again in the future.

Delay in returning Security deposit

This was our first time renting from VRBO. Unfortunately, it may be our last. Good comments: Very nice property, very clean, very quiet, got a little discount since it was just my husband and I and Lynn was very helpful when we accidently locked ourselves outside (she quickly called the housekeeper who came to let us in within 15 min). Bad comments: Dishwasher had 2-3 in. of water in the bottom when we arrived, Master shower would not drain....however Lynn did try to schedule service people for both but we didn't want to spend out vacation days waiting for service calls. Worst comment: Security deposit was not returned for over 42 days despite repeat requests via email. I just think if you sign an 11 page contract, you will be held accountable. I believe the owner should also honor the contract which states it will be returned within 21 days. First there was a promise that it would be to us by "the end of the month". When it did not arrive, I sent another email. This time it was "because the computers crashed and were down for 2 weeks with all of the information" HUH? sorry, don't believe it.
Owner's Response: We are happy our guest enjoyed our beautiful home. Despite some problems we responded very quickly and corrected any and all situations. Unfortunately they are not accurate in thier comments about the return of security deposit. Our contract states "within21 days of departure date" our guest departed on the 17th security was due on the 9th of March. Here is my record of their deposit return 3/9 check # 1515 mailed 3-29. Thier security deposit was in fact 20 days late not 42 days as stated above. Our guests need to read paragraph 6 of thier agreement. Our computer did in fact crash at this time and then Quickbooks took 3 weeks to be properly reloaded. A person that runs thier business on computer can understand this. We try but it's impossible to make "everyone" happy. We are not pleased but this was our very first somewhat negative review! But anyway, our best regards to our guests from Portland, Oregon.

Home Away From Home

We have been renting the house for 4 years and absolutely love it and it is well equipped with everything you need, Mt Estrella is beautifully decorated but comfortable we call it our home away hacienda. One of our favorite things is the private pool and hot tub and the fact we are at the base of the mountain and don't have neighbors right next door :) and also that we can walk 2 blocks to the park and get a 5 mile walk in around the the 2 lakes in the morning. It is a perfect getaway from alaska in the winter :)

We can highly recommend this luxury home for a getaway. The immaculate house, the comfortable and clean patio with its great grill and the pool with its setting with great views up the mountain took our breath away. Everything was in working order and very well appointed. The kitchen was very well equipped including a separate wine refrigerator.
