I invited 9 of my friends for a weekend getaway in Big Bear for my birthday, and we had an amazing time - especially because of the house! It was extremely clean and well put-together, and fit our large group comfortably. I was already excited to go, but the house exceeded all expectations.

The living room was especially great, with shuffleboard and sapo along with a bunch of classic board games. We cooked a few meals throughout the weekend and the kitchen was fully stocked, and we loved sitting around the picnic-bench style dining table. A great place to hang out, especially after a long day on the slopes.

Steve was extremely helpful and a gracious host - he made sure we were all prepared for our stay, and quickly followed up to any inquiry I might have had prior. Would definitely recommend this house for a large group or a family not only for the house and amenities, but also the service.

Hoping to stay here again soon!

My family of 6 adults and 1 child stayed at Big Bear for 4 days. From the moment we arrived, we were quite pleased that the cabin was exactly as the pictures portrayed. As a first time VRBO user, I was a bit nervous renting from an individual property owner. However, Stephen was quite responsive to all of my questions from the time I made the reservations until the moment we arrived at the cabin. The cabin was in a great location to Big Bear Ski Resort and was very clean and up-to-date. We were under the impression that all towels would be provided, but had to purchase wash cloths after we arrived. It was not a problem since the local Kmart was right down the street. However, it may be a good idea to let future guests know so they can bring wash cloths with them. I will definitely stay again!

Cabin was clean and cozy, well kept. Owner communication was very good and welcome packet had everything we needed for the weekend.

I have used VRBO for several years now and this is by far the best experience I’ve ever had. Stephen is by far the most gracious and professional home owner I’ve come across. I am very picky when it comes to cleanliness and this was the first cabin that truly met my expectations. Three families shared the cabin and we had all had plenty of room. The cabin is listed at 2,000 sq. ft but it definitely seems larger than that.
The downstairs has two nice size rooms along with a large bathroom to share. I was surprised to see the upgraded washer and dryer in the laundry room. The Garage is massive and has a very nice ping pong table with a ton of balls. I loved the fact that there were gates on the stairs. We never had to worry about our little ones running around. The living room is located upstairs and is huge. I was surprised on how much room there was for all the kids and their toys. The kitchen was immaculate and all the appliances were new. The upstairs bedroom & bathroom is a nice size. I really enjoyed having the extra ½ bath upstairs as well, definetely an added plus. The patio is a nice size and you get a view of Bear Mountain from there. LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION!! We were able to walk down to the golf course and go sledding. Literally, 20 feet from the backyard. We also walked the trail to Bear Mountain and the zoo, less than a 5 minute walk. Stephen has earned a customer for life. Sapo Sapo Sapo!!!!!!

WOW not sure where to start. Looking on VRBO the cabin looked beautiful and when we arrived it was even nicer and cleaner than we were expecting. The cabin is a 10 min walk to Bear mountain and a short drive to the village. Once inside the cabin we noticed that no detail was overlooked, it really felt like we were staying at a friend or family's cabin than a rental. Soo many little details, tips and suggestions all our questions were answered before we had a chance to ask. The HUGE living room really makes the home spectacular , whether you are watching a movie, playing one of the many games provided including shuffle board and Sapo or just enjoying coffee with companion(s) its a great room to keep warm and relax in. The owners were very accommodating and attentive, can't wait to go back!!

As we settle back into our daily grind, I can't help but still daydream of the wonderful time we had at Big Bear...with this beautiful home being a huge part of that awesome experience. As soon as we checked in we were all just so pleased as soon as we stepped into the home and breathed a huge sigh of relief knowing it would be "our home" for the next few days. We try to take mainland family trips every other year and one of my main concerns is finding lodging that's clean, convenient and roomy with a heavy emphasis on clean and this home easily hit all these three requirements. This was our first time ever renting a home (versus staying in hotels/motels) and working with Stephen and Carola certainly made the experience a pleasurable one.

The lodging was very roomy for the 10 of us and we all enjoyed just kicking back and relaxing- it helped that the interior is very tastefully decorated. All of the fully furnished eating and cooking utensils, appliances, linens, toiletries, etc. really can't be beat. This was my family's first experience seeing and touching snow and oh what a sight it was to see snow falling from the sky when we were up at Bear Mountain as well as just outside our front door. On our last day at the house we went out back and walked over to the small sledding area and had a great time.

I really have no comments on what could be improved with the home and whole rental experience- again, working with Stephen was a pleasure who was very responsive and helpful. We're very much looking forward to returning hopefully in the near future.

I am the mother if three babies under three years old. We wanted to get away form the city but knew we needed to find the perfect place to make it at all relaxing for us. After all, our children require a lot of care/work/stuff. This was a dream to stay at Stephen and Carola's home for our first vacation as a family. We have a two and one year old and a five month old. We stayed upstairs with the baby and the kids downstairs, brought our own baby monitor and it was great. They had a shuffle board and their own game that we played for hours. Loved using the fire and walking to the lake with the ducks. We went to the zoo which is literally around the corner and the Starbucks is a short drive as well. I am scared to ever go back without using this place, it all went so perfectly and stephen and Carola were a dream to work with. So so nice and helpful. You can't go wrong with this home and these people! Book it!

Our two families had a great time at your cabin. From beginning to end -- booking, communicating with owners pre-arrival, check-in & check-out -- the process was smooth and professional. The cabin itself is clean and updated, yet still maintains a cozy, cabin atmosphere. Personal touches inside like vintage games, books & unique pieces of furniture add to the charm. Although our time was short, it was perfect for our little ones' first time in the snow -- nice sledding area behind the cabin for young kids and small but well-maintained alpine zoo within walking distance. Ski slopes are also within walking distance though we didn't use this time. We would book again.
