We love this house. This summer will be our third summer staying in the wonderful home and each year it feels like we are coming home. They always have everything you need for a great stay and each year they have added new upgrades to make your stay more enjoyable. I am glad to hear that there is now A/C in the basement as this was the only issue we have ever had. We have purchased land to build in Lake George but will continue to stay at this home until we build.

Love this Home!!!

This is our 2nd year renting this home and we absolutely love it!!! We loved it so much last year, we just had to come again this summer!!! It is such a beautiful, clean, well kept home with an open floor plan and plenty of room for at least 2 families. We love that the dinning room table can accommodate the entire extended family and the children loved hanging out in the den downstairs with their cousins. However, the covered patio and fire pit are our most favorite features!!! It is so relaxing to sit outside on a beautiful night making smores and creating memories!!! I have 3 young children and it was wonderful to just walk to town and not have to deal with driving and parking!! This home and location have so many wonderful features I could go on and on. Needless to say, I will be back again next summer!!!

Great House!

The house was very clean and in perfect walking distance to the village! The patio in the back was perfect in the evenings to just relax when the kids went to bed. The owners were very helpful with all the attractions in the area as well as which restaurants to go to, shopping centers etc. They were very very nice to deal with as our first evening there one of the water pipes sprung a bad leak and with a phone call to the owners they were understanding and sent a plumber next day to get it fixed as quickly as they could, they kept in touch with us the whole time to make sure it got fixed which we really appreciated! Overall the house was perfect the only downfall of the house was it was very warm in the basement area but we made due with all the fans there was available in the house but from the other comments I read air conditioning will be down there next year! Next time we come to Lake George we will definitely be contacting Claire to stay at this home!!!! Definitely a GREAT HOUSE!!!!!!!

Owner's Response: The pipe was definitely the most stressful thing we have had to deal with!! But, we all got though it :) Yes...we WILL have AC in the lower level next season! We want all of our renters happy and comforable on their vacation!

Wonderful Accommodations!!

I'm so glad that my family and I decided to stay in this house. It had everything we needed to make our first, but definitely not last trip to Lake George a success. The house was clean and comfortable. The homeowners could not have been more helpful and pleasant to deal with. We were all very comfortable there. The one small glitch we ran into was that the basement is not air conditioned and we were there at a particularly hot and humid time, but we were able to work around it. We had 6 adults and 3 kids (2 yrs and under) and the house accommodated us perfectly well. It was a nice quick walk into town from the house. I will most definitely look to rent this house in the future!!

Owner's Response: Thank you for being such great renters! We really are so fortunate to always have great families come to our house! We can blame global warming for this crazy weather! It used to be that people would comment on how COLD the downstairs was. And, most homes in the Adirondacks typically didn't even have or need AC. That has certainly changed. Thank you for the feedback, and it will definitely be rectified next season. We are looking into some options now, but be rest assured the downstairs will also have AC next season!

Unfair Owner

The house served our needs well. However, a portion of our deposit was withheld because of a hole in the grill cover that we DID NOT make nor did it occur during our stay. After our request, the owner has yet to send a picture of the grill cover. Also, part of the deposit was withheld because at the end of our 5 night stay, we were expected to thoroughly clean toilets and sinks, scrub the showers and tubs, polish the furniture and clean windows to remove handprints. We did all that was required as per the contract when leaving the home (these specific cleaning tasks mentioned above were not even mentioned in the departure instructions). Prior to our stay, we did not bring these necessary cleaning products along on our VACATION to clean as extensive as the owner had wished. In all of our past experiences of renting vacation homes, this is the job of a cleaning service prior to each new renter. We feel this was very UNFAIR to withhold our deposit for a hole in a grill cover that we didn't make, and for expecting us to do the job of a cleaning service.
Owner's Response: This is the unfortunate part of renting out your home. We have been SO fortunate to have always had nice, clean, respectful families rent and enjoy our home! This is the FIRST time we have had to retain a portion of the security deposit, and it was disappointing to have to do so. The holes in the grill cover were not there before this family. I have a property manager that I know and trust inspect the house before and after each family. And now, the cleaning. I believe this family failed to read the contract, and assumed each home rental is the same. No where in our contract or on our site does it state we have a cleaning service. They would have also learned that the house is full of cleaning supplies, I would never expect renters to purchase their own or lug them from home. No previous family has failed to understand what "leaving the house in the condition you found it" means. There was urine all over both toilets, pubic hair in the tub, the fridge was gross. Imagine walking in to find this condition! Polishing the furniture and washing windows is an exaggeration of the renter, however, I would think out of common courtesy and cleanliness you might want to wipe your child's sticky handprints off the windows. The bottom line is this family made NO attempt to clean, and has admitted so. We have a lovely, clean home (as you can read from many other reviews) in a great location. We have many repeat renters, and love having respectful families come back year after year. I completely understand if people do not want to clean up after themselves on vacation. In that case, there are many many other places to rent in Lake George.

Beautiful Private Home!

My family and I loved this house! From the moment we entered, we were impressed with how well the house is maintained and how beautifully it is decorated. There was plenty of room for my husband and I and our 2 teenagers. We could each have our own space. The only problem was that my 2 teenagers both wanted the bedroom with the queen bed. The other bedroom with the 2 bunk beds are best suited for younger children, since the lower bunk on each bed does not easily allow an adult or taller teen to comfortably get in and out. My son managed to sleep on the top bunk with no problem, however. There is also a queen size futon downstairs for adults if needed.
We enjoyed eating all of our meals on the back patio, which is completely private. It was very relaxing. This house is within walking distance to the hiking trail for Prospect mountain. We hiked to the top one day. We were also very close to the Lake George village and were able to walk there as well.
The owner was very helpful with all of my questions and also gave me additional information about activities and places to shop. Although we didn't find a lot of good places to eat in the village, we liked Pizza Jerks and Porreca's restaurant. Also, we recommend the Lake George Steamboat Company lake cruises. The cruises are within walking distance to the house. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely come back again.

Thanks so much for letting us stay at your house for the that special weekend. The house was perfectly located. It was within walking distance to the main street, yet we all slept peacefully and away from the noise of Canada St. We enjoyed the spacious surroundings and the four of us had a great time. The owners were very helpful. The house was very clean and the yard was huge. We look forward to staying there again in the future. Thanks again.

perfect family spot

We had such a relaxing week with our 2 young children. We basically lived in the backyard whenever we weren't at the lake - even when it rained, the huge covered patio was delightful for all of us. And when the kids napped, we sat out there with wine and books or snoozed - what a way to live! And we took full advantage of that fire pit at night! And, even in absentia, the owners were lovely and so so accommodating.

I stayed at this house in Lake George with 7 other people. What a perfect location, super close to town! Walking was no problem even with 3 little ones. House was so warm & cozy and in impeccable condition! Landlord was wonderful to deal with and super helpful with great ideas! Would definetly stay here and highly recommend to anyone who needed a place to stay in Lake George!
