A visit to Glacier National Park, or the Bob Marshall Wilderness Area, 45 minutes away, is unforgettable. In the same area is Whitefish, and its ski area. Coming from ranch backgrounds, we both grew up in Wyoming, went to college there, & still work there. The photo shows us & our grown children on horseback in the Bighorns. In recent years our family has preferred to cluster in the majestic Montana mountains.
Montana mountain splendor enchanted us, during visits to family in Swan Valley. Days spent on the water or hiking trails felt like we were visiting paradise. The resort atmosphere carried through, into Bigfork village with its restaurants, shops, & even live summer theatre. Finally, in 2010, we bought a log cabin on the river, facing beautiful mountain views. Even though we are unable to retire yet, it is our new family treasure, a magnet for ourselves & our grown children to gather around.
We fell in love with this cozy, log-cabin ambiance, the privacy of 10 acres, the gorgeous mountain and river views, the allure of boating & fishing; & the 5 min. proximity to a leisurely biking/hiking path, and to Bigfork.
