Wouldnt go back!!!
My family and I have stayed at the Sand Dunes Resort before and were pretty excited about our vacation. I’ve never rented anything from VRBO before and after our experience there I’ll never rent from VRBO again. Within the first 30 minutes of arriving I could already tell we were not going to have the pleasant experience we had once had before at this resort. The 1st hour of our vacation was spent buying a plunger for the clogged up toilet and shower. Sand Dunes Resort could not do anything to help us because this was a privately owned room & they weren’t even allowed to go in the room. After calling VRBO/BAB Investments & leaving multiple messages it took them 4 days to return my phone calls(they were all on vacation) & no one was in the office to make sure everything was ok with us. Other issues included : room smelt like fish upon arriving, no can opener ,cooking utensils, dish towels or tea jug in kitchen, only 4 bath towels , no washcloths for 4 people(I actually called the day before we left for vacation to make sure this was not going to happen), fold out couch broke (my husband is now going to the chiropractor),no light bulb in bedroom lamp, hole in carpet, paint coming off balcony railing. Needless to say this was not the vacation I was hoping for. After the owner finally arrived he brought us 2 towels,4 was clothes,& a $10 cooking spoon set. He looked at all our problems told us he was sorry & told us for the next people he rented to he would try to do better. What!?! Mean time I guess we were just to deal with it. Yay!!! I had been under the impression he was going to bring us a broom or a vacuum cleaner but I guess I was wrong because we never heard or seen them again. So we were left there to fend for ourselves & to have sand in our floor. Thanks again VRBO. They got their money but I feel we didn’t get our money’s worth. Hey look on the bright side we left the plunger there if you need it! Good luck!!!!
Owner's Response: Condo improvements have since been completed to improve our guests stay. New ceramic tile has replaced the carpet in the bedroom. Lighting issue has been addressed. The condo has been thoroughly cleaned. Kitchen is fully stocked with cooking and eating utensils. Condo has been appointed with new linens/towels.
