This adorable Gulf Coast Cottage, originally built in 1889, has been updated to provide all of today's modern comforts and conveniences. It's equipped with central air conditioning, High Speed Internet Wi-Fi, a new 46'' HD flat screen TV with cable access, a Sony Blu Ray Player, Netflix, Pandora, and microwave oven.

The home's original wood walls, wood flooring, and 10 ft ceilings are present throughout. There are 4 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths, 3 bedrooms downstairs and one upstairs. The upstairs is a converted attic space with two rooms and a full bathroom. One room has a Futon and TV with cable access and a video gaming console with game cartridges for the kids. The other bedroom has two twin beds.

The kitchen is fully equipped with everything you need to prepare all your meals. For your convenience, all cooking utensils, dishes, a full sized refrigerator, stove/oven, dishwasher, coffee pot, toaster, and most importantly- a blender, are provided.

The property is fully fenced in and offers an automatic 16ft wide electronic gate with remote and car pad in the backyard. The car pad has enough room to park 2 cars. The backyard has a large wood deck the width of the home, a wood picnic table, and a charcoal grill. Enjoy your morning coffee or afternoon beverages sitting out on the front porch swing enjoying the gulf breezes.

PETS - House trained or kenneled pets are welcome.

To reserve the home 50% of the rental fee is required at booking. The remainder is due two weeks prior to arrival.

Winter Texans are most welcome!

You must be at least 25 years old to rent this home.

Out of consideration for our neighbors, we cannot permit prom, spring break or graduation parties.

Hello, We're from Kingwood, TX. With our son away to college and our daughter out in the working world as a nurse, we're now empty nesters. On the other hand, our daughter recently us our first grandchild!

I grew up only a couple of hours away and was fortunate enough to spend time in Galveston at least once or twice a year. My husband is from North Carolina, but he got to Texas as quick as he could 20 years ago!

We both love to travel and have been to several countries and scenic spots over the years, but we keep returning to Galveston for the charm and laid back atmosphere. It's our little get away from it all place.

We have been coming to Galveston to the beach for several years. But we recently realized that Galveston had so much more to offer than just its beaches which are nice. We began taking our bikes with us and started riding through all the Victorian Era neighborhoods, the Seawall, the Strand. Soon we started spending every weekend possible exploring the island and its rich history. We also found that staying in a house was much more relaxing than staying in a hotel. When we came across this adorable vintage 1889 Gulf Coast Style Cottage on a quiet street just around the corner from the Seawall, we knew it was a place that we would love to own. It has been so much fun putting our personal touches on it and finishing out the attic bed and bath rooms. We love the old wooden floors everywhere, the soaring high ceilings, and the beautiful little staircase leading up to the attic dorm rooms and we hope you do too!

Our family had a great Mother's day weekend at Pelican's Place. It is very clean, great location near Seawall and Pleasure Pier. We spent each evening sitting on the front porch visiting while we watched our 2 grandchildren (age 4) play inside the pickett fenced area. Enjoyed our evening meals on the back porch sitting area. We would definitely stay there again.

We loved this place. Cuter than the pictures can express. Super clean. Everything you could ever need in the kitchen. More than enough room for our party of 10. Owners and property manager easy to deal with and respond quickly. Can't beat the location!!! We all really enjoyed our selves. They do ask that you wash all your towels before you leave, so be sure to start that process early because you can only get 4-5 towels in a load and the dryer doesn't get very hot so it takes a while. If you have a large party you'll need to start washing the night before.
Like I said, we really enjoyed our stay. This is a definite thumbs up! We'd stay here again.

The next time you stay just wash the towels used prior to your departure day and we'll wash the towels used on your last day. Your home on Galveston Island is just delightful. Easy access to the beach, restaurants, and The Strand. There is plenty of space to feel settled and comfortable. There is enough of everything to accommodate a crowd, from the well stocked kitchen to the towels & linens throughout the house. We had great weather, especially enjoyed the deck in the back yard - it's where we had our Easter Brunch with the family. You are proud of the home and it's island history and it shows in the details - from the spacious rooms & high ceilings to the fresh flowers and easter table decorations which were a sweet touch. We will be back. You were a pleasure to work with and made the rental process easy breezy! Thanks for sharing your island treasure with us. gail

We had a girls' weekend and the 3 and 1/2 bathrooms were perfect for six women!, convenient to walk to the seawall, and cozy with its front and back porches and charming decor! Just the perfect place to stay.

Great Rental Home

Pelican Place is truly a home away from home. My family of 9 stayed here for 5 days and 4 nights. We found it to be extremely clean, cozy and offered modern, easy to use amenities. Plenty of interior and exterior room. We found the gate secured yard very handy for the explorations of my two year old grandson. Our Senior guests also naviated the premises easily, as all common areas are located on the first floor. Several of us walked to the beach and explored local hot spots without the use of our automobiles. Everyone from age 2 to 80 years old had a great time and agreed that Pelican Place is a gem amongst rental homes. We will book again!

Pelican Place was perfect. We had a great time hanging out on the back deck. Plenty of room for all in our party. Very close to the sea wall and pleasure pier. Would love to stay there again!

Incredible House Close to evreything! Must Stay!

We loved this house! Very cute it has evreything you can think of so you don't need to worry about bringing anything(I mean this house has it all), it has tons of room and it was easy to find. Our favorite thing was the proximity to the beach and pleasure pier it also fairly close to downtown and the dolphin tours, all in all I reconmend it to evrey one.

This is an older roomy home with ALL the extras!!! My family and I felt at home here!! The confort of the front porch and privacy of the back deck is to live for!! This home is a must stay!!! I highly recommend the Pelican place to anyone looking for a warm at home atmosphere thats only 2 blocks from the beach.

Awesome Stay!

We loved our stay at Pelican Place!! It was an easy walk to the beach and the house was awesome! You can't beat 5 bedrooms and 3 1/2 baths for a group of 10. We also got to bring our dog. The people were very easy to deal with and extremely helpful too!! We will definitely stay there again!!
