'Hawks Cry' is a luxury home on one of the newest property developments in St. Lucia. 'Allamanda at Anse Galet' was completed in 2011. Allamanda is the breathtakingly beautiful yellow flower blanketing the slopes in the gardens, which are landscaped and planted with palms and tropical flowers, attracting Humming Birds. The present owners of 'Hawks Cry' purchased the land with two other partners, one of whom has worked for many years in the Caribbean. He is a fully qualified civil engineer, from the U.K. He project managed the whole development, and the properties are all built to U.S. hurricane standards.

The spacious interior has been professionally designed, after consultation with the owners, one of whom is an artist and designer. Her works are placed tastefully around the house. She collected the natural materials from local coves and beaches, and they add a pleasing touch. The table lamps throughout and floor length drapes were chosen with care, and the beaded tie backs were designed and made by the owner, adding that special touch.

Epitomizing paradise, the house is located at the northern-most tip of the island, where the trade winds are refreshing and the only sounds for miles, are the waves of the sparkling blue Atlantic Ocean, crashing across rocks into Anse Galet Cove. At 'Hawks Cry', the Humpback Whales may be spotted spouting and broaching in the bay in season, Orcas migrate between St. Lucia and Martinique, the songs of the birds in the gardens, and at night the sound of the Tree Frog's chorus are all things to behold and hear. Turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in season in the sand on nearby beaches. This is a must for nature lovers. Indeed, the house was named after the American Kestrel which hunts above the nearby hillsides. Don't think of this as a holiday in Paradise, but heaven on earth!

Who can pass up those Caribbean nights, staring at stars, as time comes to a standstill. Imagine indulging in a glass of wine, with your toes in the patio plunge pool with the uninterrupted, pristine view of the lights on Martinique across the ocean. St Lucia's sister isle appears so surreal, you may even be tempted to stretch your hand out to touch it!

The entrance to the property is into a light and airy open plan kitchen and dining area. The kitchen is Italian design, with black granite worktops and a breakfast bar. The dining room seats eight comfortably. Leading from here is a very comfortable sitting room with TV. connected to cablevision and DVD. player. The sitting room has two bi-fold glass doors leading to a large balcony with wonderful uninterrupted sea views of the cove below. This area has two comfortable settees with coffee table, ideal for a light snack, a glass of chilled wine or cocktails at sunset. The glass topped table on the patio has seating for six persons, making dining outside a tempting alternative.

A powder room is situated off the stairs leading from the dining room.

Upstairs is the spacious ensuite Master Bedroom opening onto a balcony. It has a king sized bed and there is a flat screen TV. The ensuite is Italian with granite tops and twin hand basins. The shower, with integral seating, has a multi purpose action. All bedrooms are tastefully furnished in jewel colours, the floors and stairs all being Bamboo, adding an interesting contrast to the light coloured tiles.

Downstairs there are 2 more bedrooms. Bedroom 2 has a king size bed, a balcony and ensuite shower room with granite top and twin hand basins. Bedroom 3 has single beds a small balcony, and an ensuite shower room, again with granite tops and twin hand basins . With prior notice, the beds can be converted to a comfortable king size bed. Both of the downstairs bedrooms have dressing rooms and lots of storage space.

The children's play room downstairs is an ideal area for children to escape the mid day sun, and during the evenings, parents can relax and enjoy their holiday too. Toys, games, puzzles and books are provided for the children to use and enjoy. This room has high windows and there are no external doors, making it safe for little ones. Parents must ensure that the two downstairs bedrooms have their balcony doors secure, as small children could access these balconies. Snorkeling gear and blow up li-los are also provided for older children.

Aside from the view, the house is located not far from essential services. Seated in a cozy corner on the exclusive Cap Estate community, 'Hawks Cry' is less than ten minutes away from one of the finest full service marinas in the Caribbean, ICY Marina. Here, everything from grocery shopping to dinner and banking is available. Two minutes further down the road from the marina is St. Lucia's entertainment capital, Rodney Bay. There are two shopping malls, Bay Walk and GO Charles, a casino, there is hardly anything you need that you would not be able to get in this area. From banking to dining, to a kids' paradise and nightlife. The St. Lucia 18 hole U.S.P.G.A. Championship Golf Course is less than one mile from 'Hawks Cry'. A 'Stretched Golf Cart' tours the course all day, carrying cool refreshing drinks. If you wish to improve your game, you may wish to use the golf range

Second visit

Submitted: August 16, 2012 Stayed: March 2012
This is my second visit - loved every second of it. Met up with friends I met last year and made new ones. The St. Lucian people are so warm and friendly and make me want to stay longer. Had some very good meals out and loved the beaches.

What an amazing place! Rena was awesome! Gorgeous view, lots of room for 3 couples to enjoy - pool was awesome. Got married on the beach at Cap Maison!

What a wonderful place - thank you so much for sharing your home! Love the peace and quiet and the Atlantic Ocean.

We ate at the Rainforest Hideaway and Whiskey in the Jar. Got some fresh fish from the fish man Duke!

Beautiful view - one of the best on the island. Drive to the northern end of the island to see the sunset!

Wonderful break

Submitted: August 16, 2012 Stayed: December 2011
Thank you for opening your wonderful home. We've enjoyed our stay here. Rena is a real gem, she was so helpful. We were able to enjoy some of the local sites including Pigeon Island, the Tranopy and the catamaran tour to Soufriere. For others who come after us, we enjoyed meals at the Fire Grill, Tequila Joe's and Buzz Restaurant. For the best pizza go to Key Largo.
This has been a wonderful break from our winter to which we must reluctantly return.
Happy New Year!

A tranquil atmosphere

Submitted: August 16, 2012 Stayed: April 2012
We have very recently returned from a fortnight at Hawk’s Cry, a house in the Cap Estate in the north of St Lucia. We can state without qualification that it was a marvellous experience in every respect.
The development is new, spacious, beautifully appointed and maintained. Its facilities are excellent, with everything to hand for a most comfortable stay, a superb swimming pool on the site and a tranquil atmosphere. We were advised before we arrived of the presence of building work in the immediate vicinity and so were on the look-out for possible disturbance. A combination of very effective double-glazing, the aspect of the house being away from the work and any noise being slight meant we suffered no problems whatsoever.
We enjoyed Caribbean weather, a most hospitable population and care and attention from our hosts to ensure a most satisfying and memorable holiday. We can thoroughly recommend a stay at Hawk’s Cry (complete with passing hawk!)
