This apartment is wonderful! Our family stayed here for two weeks in Dec. 2013. It was super clean, quiet, organized, and comfortable, and unexpectedly had all the supplies we could have needed. We immediately felt at home--and that's saying a lot; it didn't feel like we were in someone else's space.
The beds were comfortable, and we had plenty of room to relax. Though modernized, the apartment retains its historic architectural appeal. As other reviewers said, the apartment's location is perfect, and we never needed a car. It's between main streets in the old city and doesn't get the tourist traffic (cars or pedestrians) that the streets around it do. Most grocery stores are within a 10-minute walk (many cafes and restaurants are closer, including Aux Anciens Canadiens a few doors away), and there is also a mini-grocery next door on the ground floor.
We felt more like residents of the city than visitors. We were in town during a cold snap--below zero much of the time, not including wind chill--and the apartment is especially suited for winter comfort. Besides easily staying warm, it was very nice to have the private entry on the third floor so that we could keep all our outdoor gear away from the living space. And with the main space on the fourth floor, we weren't bothered by the noisy snow removal equipment during the nights, which would have been impossible to sleep through had we been nearer to the street. The property manager and owner were very welcoming, kind and genuine, and the price couldn't be beat.
We usually stay in vacation rentals when we travel, and this apartment was by far the best. We'd love to return!
