WHALE ROCK - ON THE BEACH

Whale Rock is one of the very few vacation rentals on the Coast with a beach-front setting... most oceanfront homes here are sited on high bluff tops, with no access to a beach. Whale Rock is unique in that it is sited on a low bluff with panoramic views of the rolling ocean.... and with steps leading down to a wide sandy beach on the ocean... and along the Ten Mile River. Whale Rock, with three bedrooms and two baths is suitable for up to six people.

There are vacations where you run as fast as you can to visit every historic site, shop in every boutique store, eat at every restaurant you can find... you wear yourself out and down… you become frazzled. In just a few days you're dying to go home where you can rest and relax. Well, that doesn't happen at Whale Rock .... not here !!

You won't want to leave Whale Rock because every moment of the day is special here, like the early morning light over the ocean and beach (OK.... sleep late if you want to)… like soft afternoons and walks on the beach or along the river (or you can take a nap - aren't you on vacation?) … like the peaceful early evenings... a time for cocktails or sipping wine while overlooking the beach from the private deck above the beach - called 'The Perch' ...and the rolling surf of the Pacific.

... and, of course, like at sunset and strolls on the beach .... why would you want to leave Whale Rock?

In this comfortable beach-style home, you'll marvel at the views. Even the winter storms... and we sometimes get fierce ones... can be mesmerizing. It's like living on the edge. Stay in and read or nap or have lunch all day long.... or walk down to the beach and explore.

The home was so much more than the description! The ocean surf was mesmerizing New furnishings throughout with a very clean rug. Kitchen supplies were abundant and looked very new. Wine glasses, regular glasses and coffee mugs were plentiful. Dining table to seat 8 easily. Beds were large and comfortable, bedding and towels were attractive and fresh looking. Stereo, outdoor grill, wood stove for ambience, fantastic views from living room and dining room all added to the charm. Washer and dryer available. The house is in a quiet area.
Restaurants: Ledford House Restaurant (could almost walk to) had wonderful seafood, and Albion River Inn was just as good.
Owner accommodated request.
Several trips into Mendocino were fun, (about 20 minutes away) with quaint grocery store and many individual privately owned unique clothing shops, gift shops and artist galleries.
Fort Bragg a little farther up the road had some interesting historical sites in addition to the wonderful scenery.
Don’t miss this amazing spot.
