Cozy and elegant apartment in great Portland location!

I have always loved the NW district of Portland. So when I was going to be staying before and after my wedding, I looked for rentals in this neighborhood. I really wanted a place with a kitchen so we wouldn't have to eat at restaurants for every meal and something with more space than a hotel for peace of mind before the wedding festivities, but not too big since there were only 2-3 of us staying.
Coming to this apartment (it was one of two on the 2nd floor of the home) felt like I was coming to stay at a friend or family member's home- Christiane and Anton were so welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with some staples so you could cook without needing to buy them- honey, olive oil, spices, coffee & drip or french press makers and tea! It felt very European to me, everything was clean and comfortable- but also very cozy. A table with room for 4 that folds away, a couch that folds away and with the windows open in the evening we had a great breeze and had no problems with the temperature. Christiane and Anton were also very helpful- offering suggestions of places to go, even in Cannon Beach- where our wedding was.
I'm picky about bathrooms- and this one had a great shower, nice linens, and was very clean with space to store all of your things (with three ladies staying before the wedding, this was important!). Then when my new husband and I returned after the wedding they had left a beautiful flower arrangement on the table and again, we really just felt like we were coming to stay at a friend's house- they were very friendly, asking about the wedding, etc.
The neighborhood was more touristy than the last time I had been there- Starbucks seemed to have taken over, but there are still all these cute little shops and restaurants/bars that really don't feel touristy at all. And all within easy walking distance (even the Pearl district). Great neighborhood, great apartment- and being that we stayed as a little girls trip and as a mini honeymoon, I'd really say it's perfect whatever the reason for your trip is!
