The owners were so warm and helpful, and the apartment was wonderful. This is a very comfortable space to have as a home base for vacationing. The location is ideal, close to restaurants and shops on NW 21st, NW 23rd and The Pearl. The charm of this historic home is lovely, and the building and apartment have been renovated with care, making it the perfect mix of old and new. I've stayed in other VRBO apartments in Portland, all in fairly new apartment complexes, but this is my favorite by far. It was also the easiest VRBO transaction I've ever had. No huge contracts or rental agents to deal with. Thank you again for a great stay!

Delightful place to stay in the NW Portland area! So convenient, very quiet, clean, off-street parking, & very accommodating owner. The area is surrounded by excellent restaurants and the trolley is just outside the door. Besides we were greeted with chocolates and campaign - what more can one ask for? Thanks Christiane!! We highly recommend this place.

Truly a home away from home

Great location in the heart of the NW 23rd area, close to all the amenities within walking or streetcar distance but quiet enough to enjoy a good night sleep in a comfy bed. Close to great restaurants in the Pearl district and on NW 21st/23rd, but also close to great places to shop for groceries (City Market and Food Front co-op being our favourites) and amazing coffee (Northwest Coffee House).
The apartment felt like a home away from home! Christiane & Anton are thoughtful hosts and their care for these accommodations shows as the place is immaculately clean and well maintained. We travelled with a 2 1/2 year old, whom wishes that we could return. We were set us up with toys, dishes, books, highchair etc. for our son, WOW this would not be the case in a hotel. Much appreciated!
Our experience staying here really added to the overall positive experience we had visiting Portland for the first time. Such a friendly city! we miss it!
Owner's Response: Thank you so much for your kind words. It means a lot to us. Hope we get to see you again one day.

A week at the Lovejoy apartment

This place was everything I had hoped for and more, ideally located near trendy shops and restaurants, on the streetcar line, spacious, comfortable and tastefully furnished. The owners go out of their way to make guests feel welcome and their needs taken care of. I especially liked that it was located only two blocks from Paley's Place, and two blocks from the popular 21st and 23rd St. shopping district. The owners were very accomodating when I needed to have a late departure.

Great location, Cute and clean apartment, Easy parking

We loved everything about our stay at this apartment. It has private parking (no need to look for a street space), unit is on 2nd floor (which we prefer), and the apartment was immaculate, adorable, spacious, and very comfortable. We were walking distance from everything: many great restaurants, Washington Park, downtown, the Pearl...we never took our car if we were going anywhere in the NW district. And only a quick drive to get to the expressways that took us on our excursions. The owners made themselves very accessible, though we never had to contact them about anything. We would definitely stay here again if/when we return to Portland!

Location is walk convenient to everything--23rd, Pearl, hospital, transit. The apartment has been freshly completely renovated and has all the comforts of home. Plenty of space in a great layout, full kitchen with plenty of utensils of all kinds, cool bathroom with tub, nice decor. The bed is so excellent that even after a great sleep, you don't want to get up. Another conundrum is that you want to linger in the apartment because it's comfy, but there's so much going on just steps away that you want to go out. Parking for both cars and bikes. The owners are easy to work with. This apartment was a major contributor to my having a great visit. I hope to stay here again.

Cozy and elegant apartment in great Portland location!

I have always loved the NW district of Portland. So when I was going to be staying before and after my wedding, I looked for rentals in this neighborhood. I really wanted a place with a kitchen so we wouldn't have to eat at restaurants for every meal and something with more space than a hotel for peace of mind before the wedding festivities, but not too big since there were only 2-3 of us staying.

Coming to this apartment (it was one of two on the 2nd floor of the home) felt like I was coming to stay at a friend or family member's home- Christiane and Anton were so welcoming. The kitchen was stocked with some staples so you could cook without needing to buy them- honey, olive oil, spices, coffee & drip or french press makers and tea! It felt very European to me, everything was clean and comfortable- but also very cozy. A table with room for 4 that folds away, a couch that folds away and with the windows open in the evening we had a great breeze and had no problems with the temperature. Christiane and Anton were also very helpful- offering suggestions of places to go, even in Cannon Beach- where our wedding was.

I'm picky about bathrooms- and this one had a great shower, nice linens, and was very clean with space to store all of your things (with three ladies staying before the wedding, this was important!). Then when my new husband and I returned after the wedding they had left a beautiful flower arrangement on the table and again, we really just felt like we were coming to stay at a friend's house- they were very friendly, asking about the wedding, etc.

The neighborhood was more touristy than the last time I had been there- Starbucks seemed to have taken over, but there are still all these cute little shops and restaurants/bars that really don't feel touristy at all. And all within easy walking distance (even the Pearl district). Great neighborhood, great apartment- and being that we stayed as a little girls trip and as a mini honeymoon, I'd really say it's perfect whatever the reason for your trip is!

Lovely and Joyous

Sometimes while traveling you end up staying in some real dumps. Let me just emphasize: This is absolutely *NOT* a dump. Christian and Anton were very welcoming and gracious hosts. They are very knowledgeable about the city and gave us suggestions on great places to shop, have dinner, drinks and hike - a lot of great places are within walking distance! Transportation is as easy as it can get. The max and buses are right outside the door and if you're driving there's parking in the back.

Things to consider if you're pickier than we are: 1- We couldn't figure out the A.C. the one time we tried to use it. It wasn't hot enough to really matter to us. We kept the windows open and had a nice breeze. 2- There is construction going on during the day. The workers were very considerate and friendly and we had no issues with them working during our stay.

Favorites: Powells, Little Big Burger, Kennedy School, Mulatomah Falls (take the scenic route and hike all the way to the top), Elephant Delicatessen, Stumptown Coffee and so much more.

Owner's Response: Dear Letty,
thank you so much for staying with us. We loved having you and are grateful for your feed-back. The venting system is all fixed now and the construction is nearing its end. We love our new living/ work space.

Cheers
Christiane
