Salt Springs House Rental Photos and Description
Chateau / Country House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths (Sleeps 6-8)

The many facets of the lake make the visit worthwhile alone. As the sun rises the water may change from the dark of night to the golden yellows, oranges and vivid pinks with hints of turquoise and blue. The lake may be so still that it can mirror the reflections of a great egret or a great blue heron gently feeding in the grasses and plants; but, within minutes can change to the vivid blues of a cloudless day, with white caps rolling in from the breezes stirring over the lake. Storms can be watched dancing around the lake, turning the water to the grays of the clouds. Clear nights are perfect for star gazing, or watching the moon rise over the water. At other times the lake can be so still that the stars reflect off of the water. A full moon rising over the water offers a magical view with a magnificence that could take ones breath away. The rise and fall of the waves, can break the moonlight into a thousand facets each dancing and shimmering across the water.

The gentle breezes bouncing off the water allow the palms to sing one of nature’s sweetest lullabies. The quiet rustling of the fronds can easily sing one into a deep and relaxing sleep. As the sun bounces over the horizon in the morning, the bird songs, along with the lullaby of the palms, can bring one quietly into the new morning and fully refreshed to face the day. Having coffee on the porch, along with the breathtaking beauty of the morning is a site to behold. The ospreys are probably out feeding, and one may hear the cry of an eagle. There are red headed woodpeckers, humming birds, butterflies and so much more. The lake with all its beauty is shared for the enjoyment of all.

This beautiful home is located on 2/3 of an acre on the banks of the beautiful Lake George in Central Florida. We offer an executive home. The yard is fenced and animals are allowed.

Step through the front door and into the living room which is furnished with a black leather sectional designed for comfort and relaxation, slate coffee table and accent table, a big screen plasma tv, as well as dvd player, with an array of movies available for use. There is a 9 x 12 area rug that adds to the comfort of this room. The window coverings are from Mexican blankets that add to the rustic splash of color to the room. The east end of the living room is walled by a 12 foot sliding glass door, which opens into a screened porch looking over the lake and pool area. The porch is furnished with 4 sitting chairs and a black dinner table with six wicker type chairs.

Leaving the living room, step through the double door opening into the eat-in kitchen, which features a pub style table and chairs, hickory cabinets, almond porcelain double sinks, set into the peacock green granite counter tops with a tile backsplash. The kitchen is compactly designed having everything within easy reach. There are updated appliances including a flat top digital stove, dishwasher, and refrigerator with ice maker and ice/water dispenser. The kitchen is fully stocked with all non-food items, such as ceramic dinnerware, flatware, pots and pans, bowls, utensils and bake ware. There is a coffee pot, blender, and mixer. The slide in range is installed in the base cabinets that divide the kitchen and sitting room. This design allows the cook not only to be able to peer out through the French doors, once again viewing the lake and pool, but also to be able to interact with family or friends in the sitting area while preparing meals and snacks. Matched tile is the main flooring throughout the home

A two sided fireplace graces the sitting room off the kitchen as well as the living room. The sitting room houses a love seat and two recliners designed as a multi-functioning room including a reading area, a quiet room, visiting with friends and family away from the main stream living area, or keeping the cook company to name a few. The fireplace in the sitting room is faced with stone, laid by a master stone layer local to the area, and a solid wood mantel purchased at a local lumber mill, and designed for this home.

The stairway and master bedroom upstairs have bamboo hardwood floors. This master suite offers a king size four poster bed with luxury linens, a quilt comforter and matching pillow shams. The bed has a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress. There are night tables and lamps on either side of the bed. The room has chest of drawer as well as a cedar lined closet with a mirrored pocket door. The master bath upstairs hosts an oversized shower with three shower heads and a bench. This shower is tiled in slate from the shower floor, up the walls and the bench all the way to the ceiling. The entire bathroom floor is tiled with two inch slate tiles, as well as the sixty inch vanity counter top which houses two hand painted Mexican sinks. The vanity is taller than normal in order to cause less bending. The mirror over the vanity has a dark hand painted frame complimenting the slate, hand painted sinks and the dark wood of the vanity. The home also boasts a screened porch off the master suite upstairs, offering a quiet nook away from everything, overlooking the pool and the lake, furnished with lake worn wicker, to complement the lake life style. There is a coffee table as well. This is a great place to snooze, read or just relax. This porch offers an amazing view of the lake below. It is the best vantage point on the property for lake gazing.

The second bedroom is an oversized bedroom on the ground floor furnished with a kings size bed, a dresser, nightstand and chest of drawers. There are French doors that open to the lake front. This room has ceiling fans and matched bedroom lamps in the dragon fly stained glass pattern. This bed also has a Simmons Beauty Rest mattress for the ultimate in support. This is the only room that has carpet flooring.

The third bedroom is a smaller bedroom with bunk beds and an antique chest of drawers.

Most rooms have ceiling fans. Internet and satellite tv are provided. The downstairs bathroom is tile, with the vanity and linen closet built out of hickory. The bathrooms are stocked with towels and extra linen if needed. The vanity has a cultured marble top with double scalloped sinks. There is an oversized shower with 2 shower heads, a shower bench and enclosed with clear glass shower doors. This is also a cabana bath, with a door leading out to the pool and lake area. This bath is also home to the full size stackable washer and dryer.

Matched tile is the main flooring throughout the home. There is a covered deck in the back yard as well as a swimming pool with lounge chairs. The pool has a swim out that allows some seating facing the lake. A great way to spend an afternoon! The St. Johns River flows North through the middle of Lake George on its trek to Jacksonville, where it empties into the Atlantic Ocean. Lake George is roughly 7 miles wide and 13 miles long, with numerous springs feeding it. Wildlife is abundant around the lake. Eagles and Osprey both nest in the surrounding areas and feed from the lake. The lake offers not only beauty, but also an array of lake and ocean life such as blue crabs, shrimp, bass, brim, as well as an occasional manatee that maybe be seen in the springs or the runs from the lake to the springs. Remember even though this home is in a private area, wildlife can be seen from time to time including herons, egrets, raccoons, foxes, squirrels, black bear, owls, wild turkeys and more.

Salt Springs offers a few restaurants and a small grocery store, a Subway, gas stations, and a small post office. Salt Springs is located about 7 miles north of the home.

Orlando is roughly 1 and ½ hours south and, of course, offers all of the theme parks as well as shopping.

St. Augustine is an easy day trip to the northeast. A place where one can enjoy exploring historic locations such as, Castillo de San Marcos built from 1672 thru 1695, which is a reminder of the strength of the Spanish rule in the New World, or the St. Augustine Lighthouse built in 1874 and its accompanying museum open year round. Another must see, is the St. Augustine Pirate and Treasure Museum. Even though we only listed three historical sites, please remember that St. Augustine is one of our oldest cities, with too much history to share in the space allowed. Other activities available are deep sea fishing, surfing, swimming and sun bathing. St. Augustine is a wealth of history open to one and all. Great shopping is also available at The St. Augustine Premium Outlets.

Let’s not forget Daytona Beach, which is Home of the Daytona International Speedway. With an easy hour or so drive, you could be sitting in the middle of two of the biggest races of the season. Or how about bike week? The roads to and from Daytona are all welcome to travelers for bike week. There is nothing like a scenic trip through the forest on a bike.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake home. The owners couldn't have been more accommodating. Any concerns we had were responded to immediately. The neighbors were the kind you'd love to have permanently. All in all felt very comfortable and secure. Watched spectacular sunrises across the lake. A couple of evenings we saw the full moon rise. What a view! Just about every morning and evening we were greeted by four eagles. Many times they put on quite a fishing show. Fun to watch the Osprey, ducks, seagulls, turtles and even otters. Often during our drives in the National Forrest we'd see coyotes, deer, turkeys and friends of ours saw a bear. The house was very nice. Lots of room. Loved the wood fireplace on cool evenings. Our dogs were in heaven running around in a 3/4 acre fenced in yard

What a beautiful place for those who love nature. You are located on the beautiful Lake George with the Ocala National Forest. Wake up early to see the amazing sunrise as it appears upon the horizon of the waters of Lake George. Watch the ducks, osprey, seagulls and hopefully the bald eagle. We were very lucky to actual see the bald eagle flying overhead and circling for fish one mid afternoon.
Explore the Ocala National Forest, we saw coyote, turkey and plenty of deer. Fishing is available.
Centrally located, we went east to Bike Week in Daytona, rode to Flagger Beach, headed west to check out Crystal River, headed north to Gainesville for Gator Nationals and even went south just enjoying the nice comfortable biking weather. We put over 1,000 miles on our bike while we were here, which we had trailered down from PA.
This house is beautifully decorated and very clean and comfortable. There's a pool which looked so inviting but the water was still cool while we were there. Great place for those who need to get away and relax and rekindle their soul.

We stayed in this great lake house and had a great time. Dan the owner was very attentive and easy to communicate with. No problems. There are a lot of fun things to do in the area. An very extensive Antique market in Mount Dora, beautiful parks with crystal clear natural springs. Do not leave the area without renting a canoe an paddling though one of the parks creeks. Brink snorkeling gear too.

The house was very comfortable and we woke up to an awesome view every morning overlooking the lake.

Well worth it.

Great home to rent! Plenty of room, clean, comfortable, beautiful lake, pool was cold to swim but it was Dec. and the beds were very comfortable. Owner was helpful with providing fish food for the pond and leaving information on the area attractions, along with answering any questions that I had. We witnessed an eagle swoop into the water, snatch a fish and flew over out heads. Neighbors were friendly and allowed our girls to fish in the channel. We had a great time and would rent this property again. Thanks for sharing your home with us! Dale and Deb

Great Place

As described in the listing, the place was great. The pictures in the listing were nothing, compared to seeing it in person. The interior of the home is well furnished and decorated, and has large spacious rooms. The kitchen is well stocked with all the items anyone would need to prepare any sort of meal, from a light snack to a lavish meal, just provide the groceries. In the bathrooms, the showers are the main attraction, they are very large, with several shower heads in each. The upper and lower screened rooms provide the perfect place to sit and watch the sunrise, and wildlife. The pool is really nice, though at the time of our visit was a bit cool. A covered pavilion provided a great place to cook out on the gas grill, with plenty of outdoor furnishings to accommodate a crowd. There is a small dock that we fished from, but a boat is the best way to enjoy the lake and fish. Eagles, hawks, and osprey, were seen regularly flying overhead, while heron's stalked fish from docks and banks. Occasionally, small alligators could be seen swimming by. We only had one issue, the air conditioner stopped working, but with a call to the owner, it was repaired almost immediately. Dan, the owner, was very polite and attentive to our needs. We usually visit the theme parks on our vacation, but found this to be a lot more relaxing and enjoyable. If it's theme parks you want though, they're only about an hour to an hour and a half away. Restaurants are few, but nice. There is a small grocery store about six miles away, with surprisingly good looking meats, and low prices. I will definitely recommend this place to my friends and family, and am planning to return next year.

Wonderful area, close to many Springs, State and National Forest. Comfortable beds, clean and well maintained. Enjoyed the Koi pond and the many birds. We were there during the Bostwick Blueberry Festival and bought Blueberry preserves and Honey from the local growers. Boated to Salt Springs, Silver Glen and Silver River State Park. Our boat was rather large but the marina was accomodating and close by. Very quiet and peaceful.

We stayed for a long weekend (Thurs-Sun) with a few other couples. The house is well furnished and we enjoyed having our dogs in the large enclosed yard. There is a small dock which isn't advertised that we were happy to see. The neighborhood ramp is easily accessible and we used it to take our boat out on the lake. The ramp isn't the greatest (glad I have 4x4) but it is paved, and there's a place to park the trailer once you're launched. The pool is small, but very nice, just what we wanted. The weather didn't cooperate with us too much, and the vast movie collection helped out a lot. We took a trip out to juniper springs, which is a great canoeing trip (you're guaranteed to see large gators, up close and personal). Highly recommend this house for families who don't want to leave the dogs at home or kennel. Thanks for sharing your home!

Spending a month in Florida was an exciting idea, but could we find a place that was dog-friendly, on water, and convenient to friends and relatives? The short answer was yes. This was the place. On the western shore of Lake George near the small community of Salt Springs, the location worked perfectly for us. Dan and Nancy were very accommodating and responsive to any questions or needs that arose. The dogs enjoyed the freedom of a completely enclosed yard. Sitting on the lanai and watching the Coots, Herons, Ospreys, and Bald Eagles was always entertaining. The house was everything we could ask for. We had family and friends visit and/or spend several days with us over the four weeks we were there, and they too were impressed. With lots of things to see and do, the month passed too quickly.
