We fell in love with Thistletop and their owners. Thistletop was far beyond our expectations. We never once said "this is great if only they had...".
At every turn we found the perfect touch. We even added a one day to our trip after arriving. It was an absolutely blissful retreat for us. The Dauphine suite was simple delicious!!

We recently stayed at the Thistletop Inn and enjoyed our best ever experience at a B & B. For a little more than average, Thistletop clearly earns a five star rating. Fred and Mary Jane treat you just as they would want to be treated themselves. We quickly felt at home, and an amazing home at that. The pictures on the website are accurate. If anything Thistletop is even nicer. The property was clean and appointed more thoroughly than one could hope for - Robes, slippers, a pitcher of ice water, beds turned down, board games, cookies, fruits, snacks, books, movies, music and other amenities too numerous to list. Fred's cooking is wonderful and Mary Jane provides the welcoming attention to detail. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room was private and quiet. We recommend Thistletop to our relatives and friends and look forward to returning soon.

We booked this inn for my parents anniversary, so review is both 1st and 3rd hand. My experience in making the reservation with both Fred and Mary Jane was awesome in itself. I was immediately put at ease since this was their 1st B&B stay. Even though short, the conversations with each was as if I'd known them forever. My parents gave an excellent report from their stay. Fred made them feel at home as they explored the entire Inn. My father gave thumbs up on the breakfast Sunday morning and said he enjoyed the conversation he was able to have with Fred. My mom fell asleep in a chair without a TV on. That is a HUGE compliment on how comfortable they felt. So all in all, they had a excellent time! Many thanks to Fred for making their stay worth all their 38 years! And for me, I can't wait to have my own memorable stay!

WOW...what a beautiful B&B! We've stayed at 20+ B&Bs over the years and the Thistletop Inn rates number one. We were in Nashville for 4 days to visit family and celebrate our 24th anniversary. The property is absolutely gorgeous, built by Braxton Dickson, a famous Tennessee builder to the stars. The house has every amenity you can imagine but that's not what is special about the Thistletop Inn. The Innkeepers, Fred and Mary Jane, are what makes the place extra special. Their enthusiasm and dedication to ensure you have the best B&B experience is what sets their inn at the top. We were there to visit family and they made us feel like family while we were there. The only criticism I have is that I gained 5lbs from Fred's cooking but that is overcome by Mary Jane's southern hospitality! Do yourself a favor and create an experience you'll remember forever, and stay at the Thistletop Inn. Make sure you get the full special treatment with a song from Tashi and Pearl!!

The Thistletop Inn, along with Fred & Mary Jane, provided the perfect setting for our 5th Anniversary! What an AMAZING weekend! This is so much more than a B&B (which was our 1st!) Upon arrival, we were welcomed and made to feel right at home, as if we were visiting relatives and not just meeting strangers for the first time. From the gourmet breakfasts, to the great conversations, the unending hospitality and generosity, snacks for the road, advice for things to see and do in the area to the many wonderful and relaxing things to do at Thistletop! To say we were spoiled for 3 days is an understatement! We had the pleasure of enjoying both the Dauphine Suite and the Taos room. Both were exceptional! Already, we are missing relaxing in the hot tub and then sitting by the fire each night. This was definately the honeymoon we never had. Thank You for making our weekend together so special! We are already making plans to visit again! From the bottom of our hearts, THANK YOU! We will cherish this weekend and your friendship forever! :-)

I really don't know where to begin...words cannot describe what a beautiful weekend my husband and I had at Thistletop! I could go on and on describing the beautiful rooms, the cozy atmosphere, the serenity of the surroundings...the breathtaking views, and the out of this world food!! It was all amazing...but it all pales in comparison to the owners of Thistletop Inn...We were so blessed by their hospitality...we rarely have time away to ourselves and they were so very kind...making sure every detail was just right...they spoiled us rotten and by the end of the weekend we felt like we had made new friends for life!! We urge everyone to visit Thistletop Inn...you will not be sorry...in fact you will never want to leave!! Thank you Fred and Mary Jane!!! We hope to see you again very soon!

my husband and i stayed for 3 nights at the thistle stop inn. the first night, we didnt even want to leave the house because it is so beautiful and relaxing. the owners, fred and mary jane are the nicest, friendliest people. they cater to your every need.even though they are their, you have all the privacy in the world. AND did i mention fred is an amazing cook! he will make you a breakfast that is just delicious! something different everyday! you will not want to go home. we could not have asked for a better place to have stayed. the decor of the inn is amazing! everything being from all differents parts of the world. the stories about where everything came from is really neat to hear. the bed and the pillows just suck you in the 1st night you are their. they are so comfy. the property view is really beautiful. my husband sat out back at sundown and watched 3 deer and played with cooper their cat! he made a couple of new friends their too. everything was just truely awesome! nashville, the malls, and grocery or restaurants are all within a 15-20 min ride. and i almost forgot the VERY best part, the price is just unbelievable! you would expect to pay more than this rate at a hotel. for all the privacy, ammentities, and just plain great friendly people you will not find a better place than thistle stop inn! you dont need to really take anything with you except your clothes, toothe brush, and a hair brush. they have everything their for you! we would pay atleast 5x what we paid for 1 night where we live for a place like thistle stop. overall i can say this was one of the best places we have ever stayed and cant wait to go back! gonna miss fred's cooking!

My husband and I stayed here for a little relaxing romantic weekend getway. You would never know being right there in Goodletsville (so close to the Madison/Rivergate area and to Nashville) would be such a quiet, relaxing little piece of Heaven. The Inn is amazingly creative, decorated with some local, historical, and beautiful handmade creations. This place is an inspiration! It is great for a lazy day in bed watching movies or a stroll on the property. Fred will cook you some great breakfasts!!!! Fred & Mary Jane were such wonderful hosts! We will be going back for our anniversary in February. You will not be disappointed with The Thistletop Inn!
