Bar Harbor House Rental Photos and Description
5+ bedrooms, 4 baths, 3200 SF on the sweetest street!

All the charm of yesteryear with all comfort of the 21st century! Grand columned entry porch, English garden, delightful outdoor dining. Spacious and charming rooms, old world kitchen with bells and whistles, sunny breakfast room, copper sinked butler's pantry/bar with wine cooler, expansive foyer with fireplace, comfortable and tranquil living room, dining room for 10 with piano and sitting area, family room/home theater with fold out sectional, 3/4 first floor bathroom. Two stairs lead to four bedrooms, including newly redecorated master suite (king bed), one bedroom with a queen, one with a full bed (newly decorated and upgraded) and one with a twin. There is an additional double bed suite on the third floor as well as a generous laundry room. Coveted village location - quiet and enjoyable, but a stone's throw to all the activities you can imagine. You can walk everywhere! Let the beautiful church bells of St. Saviour's be your only alarm clock!

We are a couple with four children who have enjoyed living in Bar Harbor since 1995. We are both architects and have lovingly restored this gem of a home to its glory while incorporating modern amenities and our own touches. We own another Bar Harbor property as well - the Cottage on Cottage - and enjoy traveling (we always rent homes when we travel and enjoy being able to provide similar comfort to other travelers!)

Kay or Augusto purchased this house in 2000

We purchased this home because having had few owners before us, it had retained most of its original features and charm, and as architects, we knew good bones when we saw them! Since then, the home has been totally renovated, and serves as an excellent design laboratory - even our most discerning clients have appreciated the hospitality and ambiance of this home!

The fireplaces, the wooden fretwork, the massive entry columns, oversized front door, the diamond paned windows...they just don't make them like this anymore! Elegant, but livable and oh, so well located!

My family and absolutely loved our stay in this beautiful home! The home was decorated beautifully and each room had its own distinct feel. Additionally, the home was spotless, and the kitchen was well stocked with dishes and utensils while the bathrooms had plenty of towels. As much as we loved spending time in the home drinking coffee on the porch or reading in the library, one of the most wonderful things about this home is the location. It is an easy walk to the grocery store, restaurants, shops, and the waterfront. We loved the accessibility to town that this home offered. I would most definitely recommend this lovely home to other families!
Owner's Response: We are so glad your family enjoyed our home and that you chose it for your special occasion! Cheers to the newlyweds!

I really enjoyed my stay there. The rooms are very well decorated and I like that each room has its own characteristics. The pictures included in the listing truthfully depict the property. I particularly like that Kay and Augusto keep a lot of books in the house and I got to read some of those before sleep every night. The kitchen is well-equipped and there are plenty of bath towels for our use. One nit-picky thing is that the family room and the formal dining room have the smell of old houses, probably because they were not used very often, but the other rooms are all fine. The location is very convenient - very walkable to restaurants and the grocery store. Kay was very responsive and helpful during the inquiry and rental process.
Owner's Response: We are so happy we were able to accommodate this last minute, early season reservation, and also glad the weather turned nice for their stay after a long period of spring cold and drizzle (and yes, we had just opened the family room wing of the house! Should be nicely aired out now)!
