Perfect Cabin for our group
This cabin was absolutely perfect, the place is even nicer in real life than the pictures. We thoroughly enjoyed the landscaping and outdoor amenities of the cabin as well as relaxed inside the well appointed rooms. All of the furniture and decorations were top-notch. The beds were extremely comfortable and the linens were cozy.
Kathleen was very easy to work with and even accommodated our last minute change of plans to add a few extra days (luckily there was availability).
I highly recommend taking a stroll in the neighborhood and enjoy the views at sunset and sunrise. The picnic area down by the lake is very relaxing and offers up a chance for some exercise walking up and down the roads.
I have already recommended this place to family and friends that will be in the area soon, and I plan on making a return visit in the near future.
The location was close enough to town to get the things that you need and to enjoy the NOC, but at the same time, you felt like you were peacefully in the middle of nowhere as traffic was limited and the wildlife was abundant.

Relaxed Mountain Retreat
Wonderful place in the mountains west of Asheville. Property was impeccable and beautifully decorated. Photos don't fully give justice to the place. Plenty of river activities nearby. Asheville is a bit of a trek but no problem for a day's adventure to visit galleries, restaurants, etc.

Super Nice & Very New Cabin
Super Nice & Very New Cabin
When we opened the door, our jaws dropped! This place is incredible! This cabin is in an excellent location for a Western North Carolina mountain getaway. Very private and quiet, even though it's right on the back road from the highway. It's about a 30 minute drive to downtown Bryson City. Convenient for day trips to Cherokee attractions, GSMNP, Franklin gem-mining, and do-able for the Biltmore in Asheville. The cabin has everything you could ask for in a mountain get-away. Fireplaces, outdoor firepit, hot tub, open floor plan kitchen/living room, screened-in outdoor deck, creek side location provides a very special ambiance. No long range views from cabin, but it's only a short ride up to the top of the mountain for great views from the deck. The decor is top notch and the kitchen had everything we needed for preparing our meals. We drove the back road from the cabin to the waterfall trail, it was a nice little hike. We tried to go over to the NOC but the back gate had an additional lock on it, not sure if that is permanant or not? We drove over to the NOC later in the day, about a 15 minute drive. The only minor downsides we encounted was the lack of WIFI, there was an available Hot Spot booster, but without your own Hot Spot, there is no internet. Also, no cellphone reception at the cabin. Without internet/cell service, we could not access our online music library, email etc. It would of been nice to have a CD player or radio to hear music with. There is an iPod dock/speaker if you bring your own mp3 player. The only other minor issue was the mirror in the master bathroom. I think it was designed for people over 5'10". I'm on the short side (5'3"), and could only see the top half of my head when standing at the sink. It would of been nice to have a small make-up mirror like they have in hotels, to accomodate us vertically challenged adults. But these were only minor issues compared to how much we really enjoyed soaking in the hot tub at night, roasting marshmallows in the outdoor firepit next to the creek, playing games upstairs in the game room and enjoying the peace and quiet. We would absolutely stay here again, just bring your own Hot Spot & make-up mirror ;) Recommendations: (1) Bryson City Visitors Center, very friendly folks with lots of info, including discount tix for Biltmore. (2) Cork and Bean Restaurant, excellent food and great selection of beer/wine/coffee. (3) Tumbling Waters trout pond, catch your own dinner! (4) Mason Mountain Mine

Awesome experience!!
This is *the* best place to stay in that region. The cabin is very much new and kept in great condition. Very well equipped and everything worked. And the best part is the stream that runs next to it. The sound is great and can be heard from every room in the house. I definitely recommend this for a weekend getaway.

Beautiful cabin!
We recently returned from a 5 day stay at this beautiful new home near Bryson City. It is the first home in a new development and we were thrilled to enjoy the solitude of the seldom-used gravel road leading to the cabin. The description and pictures were accurate, the home is well appointed with comfortable beds, furniture, outside furniture and gourmet kitchen.
The very best perk of the home is its location on the creek.....the sounds of the rock- filled creek provides a peaceful retreat; it is surrounded by woods and the home's placement by the creek will surely be the best location within the development. The owners provide a pile of fire wood for the beautiful fire pit by the creek, a perfect place for s'mores and relaxing. The 6 person hot tub on the deck overlooks the creek and woods and provides an ideal place for watching shooting stars at night. The screened in outdoor room was our favoerite place to hang out although we never could get the gas fireplace lit. One of our guests even slept on the porch one night! There is a gas grill that we never got to use; the game room is fun, has a pull out sleeper and seperate bath. The owners, however, need to redo the setup of the foos ball table since they have the goalie in the wrong placement which makes it a little harder to play.
Our decision to rent this particilar cabin was made due to it's proximity to the Nanthala Outdoor Center (2.5 miles) on a private gravel road. There are hiking trails off this road, we hiked (but never found the waterfall), and the viewing platform is on this road. We had hoped to see black bear but never did although we saw a fox and deer. The other perk is that the cabin is within a few miles of the Almond Marina where we rented a boat, fished, photographed the beautiful Fontana Lake. (bear often see here). We love the NOC and enjoyed rafting, kayaking Fonatana Lake and Nanthala River, dinner, and breakfast with them. The outdoor cafe/bar is a fun place to hang out, listen to music. The kayak rental is a blast, you can rent or join a guided tour (we rented). Bird Falls is about 2 miles down the lake.
Our only complaints are: we could not get the rental company to come and fix the ice machine, we bought ice the entire time. We wanted to ask them to unlock the outside screened porch and to look at the gas fireplace but they did not show when scheduled and we even left a guest at the house. There was dust on the dressers and very few towels.

Hearing that you found the photos and advertisement to be accurate is so important, we were reading in the guest book recently and the reoccurring comment was that everyone was pleasantly surprised when they arrived and were able to view the cabin in person.
When we began searching for a location to build this cabin, we searched and searched. Since we love to fish, hike, raft, biking, and most outdoor activities in general we gravitated toward the NOC and the Tsali areas. When we saw this spot it was love at first site, we just knew it was the perfect place to build a creekside retreat. The sounds of the creek are so relaxing that we were swept off out feet!
We agree, this is the best location in this development. The estate sized building sites are designed for privacy, but no matter what happens this location will always be as private as it is now!
In building the outdoor screened living room we wanted to create a space that was reminiscent of an old time sleeping porch with all of the warmth and comfort of modern rustic decor.
Were you able to see the fireflies after sunset? We can only describe the view from the hot tub as Magical.
We spoke with our property manager and when she brought you the 10 pound bag of ice, she thought it was best not to disturb you again. In these new age high tech appliances are not always so easy to find the "on" button...
The foosball table is now set up for right handed players, apparently it was assembled by a lefty...
The fireplace is turned off April 15 - Sept. 15, but in the cooler weather it is wonderful cuddle in front of after a relaxing soak in the sparkling hot tub!
