Photos and Description of the Oakland vacation apartment rental
2 bedrooms, each with queen bed, 1 full bath, sleeps 4

This 1100 sq ft newly renovated & artfully designed flat is an oasis offering views that looks over a tree-filled panorama that takes in the San Francisco skyline, Bay, Bay Bridge, Golden Gate Bridge & Mt. Tamalpais. The sunsets are sometimes dramatic & sometimes the subdued hues of an impressionist painting. If it's game night, you'll see the lights and fireworks at Candlestick or AT&T Park.

The flat is located in the neighborhood of Maxwell Park, a close-knit community of middle class professionals. Maxwell Park enjoys a micro climate that is often sunny & warm when San Francisco is foggy and chilly!l

The flat and its deck are completely private with access through the front door at street level. It feels like a house, not a flat. The flat is completely private with no shared access. It's very quiet with the pleasant sounds of the birds and garden fountains. In addition to the hot tub, the shared garden has additional decks, sitting areas, and a meditation garden

(Kindly note that a minimum stay of 7 days is required for a reservation that is more than 30 days in the future.)

Views! Views! Views!: Every room in the home, except for one bedroom and the bathroom, has lovely views. One bedroom offers a view of the water even from the bed. From this bedroom a French door opens onto a curved deck that has cushy seating. Each bedroom has a very comfortable, queen-size bed. The bathroom has been updated with tile and granite. A full-size washer and dryer are located off the bathroom, hidden by a closed pocket door.

Amenities for Work & Play.: The kitchen is fully furnished with cookware, utensils, and place settings. The kitchen decor is vintage and features a Wedgewood gas cook stove.

Deck access is also available from the kitchen area, and this deck area is furnished with a bar-height table where you can enjoy a repast and the views with your fellow guests.

A desk work area is available and free wireless Internet access is provided.

As an antidote to work, you may cozy up to the gas fireplace and watch the 41 inch flat screen television (satellite DirecTV).

The hot tub is a full size Sundance spa with powerful jets to sooth your spirit and body.

The garden has several areas where you just be, to exercise, meditate, or read. One deck has a full set of weights for those interested in a vigorous workout. The deck has an electrical outlet if you would like to hook up your laptop to follow along with your favorite exercise or yoga DVD.

About Dee Fisher

My husband and I occupy the downstairs apartment. There is plenty of visual and sound separation between the two units. The vacation rental is on the top floor and accessed from the street so that it feels more like a single family home than an apartment. We respect the privacy and autonomy of our guests as we treasure ours. We travel often, and when not traveling are usually at our retail business. It gives us great pleasure to share our special spot on the planet with others, and makes us very happy that guests enjoy the rental so much.

Dee Fisher purchased this apartment in 1992
Why Dee Fisher chose Oakland

*Sunny, warm climate, no fog! *Views *Garden *Peaceful and Serene *Central proximity to the Bay and San Francisco, Napa Valley, and other tourist attractions. Within walking distance of Mills College. Close-knit neighborhood of middle class professionals.

Beautifully Kept Hillside Retreat!

We're so blessed to have found such a wonderful place to stay during Mills College's 125th commencement where our daughter received her masters degree. Our family was able to join us there after ceremonies for a fantastic brunch, enjoying the expansive vista views of Oakland, the San Francisco Bay, both city's skylines, all the while relishing this home's thoughtful amenities, open feel, the outdoor deck and lush gardens.

As the evening approached, the views from the house and deck brought a new mood as the night-lit skylines of the cities below, emerged then merged with the peaceful tranquility of the quiet neighborhood. Just when you thought it couldn't get any better than this--after everyone had headed home & everything's settled down--it was time for bed. And oh what comfortable beds they are! (We only slept in one, but you could tell that the other one would be just as nice!) The owner's tastes and attention to detail were again expressed by providing down-filled/foam mattress pad tops covered with high-quality linens...all combined to make for a truly good night's sleep!

We felt so relaxed and refreshed even with the big graduation event headlining our stay! As a matter of fact, we liked being there so much that we asked if we could stay another night and they said yes!

If you want a fresh perspective on an upcoming stay in the Bay Area with easy access to everything you'd expect to do while visiting, plus the added bonus of a refreshing retreat to come "home" to while you're there, this is the place for you!!!

Perfectly clean and well maintained. The view was as advertised and the entire apartment was light and inviting. The kitchen was well equipped, and the furnishings attractive. The owner was very helpful, and we would certainly recommend this property. We have already signed up to rent it again.

Fairbairn Oasis

The home is extremely well kept. Comfortable beds, sizable kitchen, beautiful view from the deck. Hot tub is perfect for the end of the evening. Neighborhood is quiet, owner's were present and available for any questions or conversations we initiated, but let us be and respected our privacy.
Only set back is that the immediate neighborhood is removed from shops, restaurants or public transit within walking distance. However, you can jump in the car, be two exits up 580 in a few minutes and in the middle of good shopping/eating areas.
I'd definitely return and recommend the property to anyone visiting the Bay Area.

My husband and I stayed for 2 weeks at this delightful home. We were visiting our daughter who lived within walking distance. The property exceeded our expectations. It is extremely clean and well-maintained. A cozy gas fireplace was perfect for when the temperature dropped a bit in the evening. The decor and the furniture are lovely. The views of SF, OAK and the bridges are amazing! Dee and Kevin were always available if we had any questions. We especially appreciated all the clean sheets and towels. We hope to go back! Our stay was perfect. Thank you Dee and Kevin.

We had a wonderful stay at Dee & Kevin's apartment. We stayed there for 3 weeks with our 2 young children and everything was perfect!!!
The place is really neat, cosy and comfortable. It's extremely peaceful and the beds are so comfortable, we slept like babies! We spent time on the outdoor deck just admiring the view, which is just fantastic! We spent time in the garden, eating fresh apples and in the hot tub, too.
You find everything you need in the apartment to feel at home (music, books, kitchen stuff ..), the laudry is brand new, so with children, it was very helpful.
You can easily park your car in the street without any difficulties, and it takes reasonnable time to go to SF and visit the area.
I wish we could stay longer! So we definitely recommend this wonderful oasis !
Thank you so much Dee & Kevin!

We would highly recommend this Condo. It truly is an oasis in Oakland, in a nice quiet neighborhood. We were there a week and felt it was a great "home" to stay in. The gardens are wonderful with many bird sitings and bird songs to hear. We saw great views and sunsets over San Francisco from the balcony outside the bedroom and kitchen. As well as nice views toward Oakland downtown. The photos and listing accurately reflect this rentals appearance and amenities.

We had a wonderful stay at the Fairbairn Oasis. This is truly a hidden gem. First, and most importantly, the unit is CLEAN and well appointed. It is clear that the unit is well taken care of. Dee and Kevin have anticipated the needs of travelers and included many items in the unit that you may not even think you will need, but end up using anyway, which is great! The bed and linens were wonderful. The view is also amazing. The time we spent on the outdoor decks and the garden helped give us the relaxation we needed. The location provides easy access to various areas. We were able to access, San Francisco, Napa valley, and other areas within a reasonable amount of time. It was also nice to have space to entertain family and friends and everyone was amazed at our great location. We highly recommend Fairbairn and plan to return whenever we are in the Bay area.

A Breath of Fresh Air!

What a fabulous stay we had this past week! Between the plush relaxing bed, the numerous amounts of cozy reading spaces, the hot shower (that seemed it's supply was endless!), and the incredible views - we didn't want to leave!

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed our week. The kitchen was marvelous, as it had essentials in the cupboard (like cooking oils, spices, sugar, and such). We hopped down the road to Trader Joe's and grabbed what we needed for the week. Delores (the owner) has this awesome retro stove in the kitchen that I just fell in love with!

It was so nice to wake up every morning to the cool air coming through the bedroom door, that goes out to the patio. The light and the colors throughout this space were unbelievable! The sights! It was awesome.

Almost every evening my husband and I would take an end-of-the-day dip in the hot tub. It was so relaxing. We'd finish by curling up to a movie by the fireplace.

It's location is great - close enough to things you'd want, but out of the way enough to feel more private. It was very quiet!

One of the perks for me was being able to wash all of our laundry from the week! Delores has put in a lovely washer and dryer, and we used it to wash our clothes so we could fly back to New Hampshire without the hassel of doing laundry right when we got home! Our clothes went from suitcase, straight back to the closets! Awesome.

Great place to stay - I couldn't recommend it more!

We can't wait to go back!
