Witt House is located in peaceful Panorama Village. This home is in a safe neighborhood with friendly people and its own police force. This is a new listing in June and has new bathroom counters, sinks, and fixtures. All linens are also new. You can be a guest in this 3 bedroom, 2 bath home with a garage (you can use one side) and a lovely landscaped garden out back for just 2 - 3 days or for a few months. Either way, you will feel like this is your home away from home. Your boat can be parked in the driveway for up to a week.
This home has been decorated with a focus toward peace and comfort and is a great place to relax with comfy chairs and couch. Most of the pictures on the walls are actually photographs printed on canvas which speak to the person who loves nature and also bring the beauty indoors. The family room has a cozy feel and has a flat screen TV mounted on the wall. A small selection of DVDs and CD's are available, and family games are provided for quality family time.
The dining table seats up to 6, and there are 2 bar stools for extra seating. The kitchen has a stove, fullsize refrigerator, microwave, toaster, blender, and circus animal waffle maker for the kids. We have tried to think of and provide all the things you might need in the kitchen for cooking. Some spices are provided. You will find a starter package of dishwasher soap/detergent, paper goods, laundry detergent, and coffee/tea. A fullsize washer and dryer are located in a small utility room off the kitchen. Start your morning outside on the patio in comfortable wicker chairs with your coffee or tea, and listen to the chirping of the birds while you watch the squirrels scampering and the birds and butterflies fluttering around.
The three bedrooms are decorated as getaways where you can relax after your day. The master features a kingsize bed with a beautiful blue quilt and luxurious sheets. You will see a canvas of beautiful Moraine Lake and snowcapped mountains above the bed as you enter the bedroom. There is also a photo of the ocean taken from the island of Lanai and another of an East Texas lake. The bedroom, dressing area, and bath (with its tub/shower) are decorated in a soothing blue, and you will find soft, thick towels for your use. A large dresser and walk-in closet can hold all the clothes you want to bring as well as empty suitcases and other gear. A flatscreen tv is provided for your entertainment.
The second bedroom is the 'giraffe room' and has a precious picture of a Kenyan giraffe that we saw and photographed while in Kenya. It has twin beds and is suitable for children or anyone who loves animals in the wild. This room has a small chest with two drawers and also a closet for clothes.
The bed in the third bedroom has a very comfortable fullsize mattress. We feel such a sense of peace as we walk into this room. A photo of a green ladybug nestled in bright yellow flower petals is the focal point in this room. A large dresser with a mirror and a closet are provided for your clothes.
The second bath has a tub/shower and soft towels and is decorated in calming greens and browns.
Cleanliness and your health are very important to us. After each guest leaves, we sanitize all door knobs, light switches, etc., and we wash all pillow protectors and sheet protectors. We try to use natural or organic cleaning supplies. We also have natural or organic toiletries for you in which to start your vacation.
For us, this is a house of joy, peace, and comfort, and we hope you will experience that when you come here. We give 10% of the earnings of Witt House to help the people living in an Internally Displaced People camp in Kenya and/or to other international and local ministries. You can see pictures and read about the IDP camp in this home. When we visited this camp, a little girl grabbed my daughter's hand and didn't let go. We have placed a picture of those hands in the entry of our home. This picture is a reminder to us of the people in the IDP camp, and it also speaks to us in so many other ways. We also use funds from Witt House to support Margaret, an orphan who lives at Into Abbas Arms, an orphanage in Kenya. We personally know the lady who started the orphanage and believe in the wonderful work she does in Kenya for these children. You can go to www.intoabbasarms.org for information.
We are Karen & Paul Hubbard. We live 2 doors down from Witt House and have lived in Panorama Village since 1977. We were both born and raised in Texas and love the friendliness of the people who live in the small towns of Texas. Panorama Village is one of those small communities, and our neighbors exemplify Texas hospitality and warmth.
