Cute but disappointing

We knew that it was not handicap accessible but never expected it to be almost impossible to get to.
There is very limited parking on the street and then you walk down 2 levels on natural stone that can be very slick, passing 2 other residences.
The "front" door is only a few feet from the back of another property and no place to sit. You entered into the seating/bedroom area which was comfy and inviting.
Down the VERY NARROW stairs was the LOW CEILING kitchen/dining and bath, with an outside door without a key.
Right outside the kitchen door was a little (maybe 4 feet) area with stone steps up to the front. There was a little bench that was too narrow and too close to the house to use. The other way lead to a "path" off of King Street and around the house was a smoker and 1 wooden chair and 2 plastic chairs and enough mulch to make a very nice flower bed and it severely limited ability to park there and walk around the building.
It was very quiet and relaxing. BUT it was NOT clean........... The heater/air upstairs was so filthy that it caused a nose bleed. We spent the last 5 days without any heat in the "main" area.
We never saw the lady but her husband came and got my Wi-Fi connected.
The front door is only one door not as pictured. The freezer was so badly frozen you could not have used the ice maker.
The kitchen table is an OUTDOOR BISTRO set that has a cracked and damaged top, VERY UNSANITARY..........
The weather turned very cold so we just stay in and talked and watched TV. The TV did not have volume on some of the channels like CBS, and no closed captioning and was in a dirty armoire that was too big for the room. 1 window was completely blocked by it.
The bathroom was snug, a closet by the toilet held the hot water heater and some cleaning supplies and there were openings you could see day light through and feel the cold breeze. The "closet" was a rod with a home made shelf of 9 squares and right in front of the toilet.
NO I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PROPERTY TO ANYONE. I little bit of love and elbow grease and it could be charming, there is no "secret garden".
Owner's Response: We are distressed to read this negative review, but not surprised. The renter tried to cancel their stay from the start when she failed to inform us that her gentleman friend was extremely tall. I explained the cancelation policy which was sent to her before the booking. I even went out and bought a new coverlet and pillows since she said she did not want down bedding in the cottage. Evidently this must have been their first stay in Eureka Springs or else they would have known that all parking is on the street, or on a carriage road behind the homes. Out of all the renters that we have had in the past year, this was the only one that had anything negative to say. And just to clearify, I did talk to her up to 3 times a day, everyday, I however did not go down to the cottage because I have been on chemo and very sick in the last week. My husband did check on them. This is clearly a case of being upset because they couldn't cancel at the last minute.
