Wonderful family vacation on a beautiful beach!

Our family had a wonderful and relaxing two week stay at Whymmsical Wish. The photos are accurate but they truly don't show the real beauty of the property and the beach. THE BEACH IS AMAZING! It is 2 1/2 miles long with the most amazing Caribbean blue water. There are NO crowds. We were usually the only people on the beach.
The duplex was spacious and airy. The screened in porches were our favourite part of the house to hang out, read books and eat meals. The owner, George, was always available to answer our questions and gave us great recommendations for restaurants (Seaside Village! They have a bar right on the water and Kenny, the owner, pulls the conch right out of the ocean to prepare your conch salad right in front of you).
We would HIGHLY RECOMMEND this property. We are already planning our next trip back and will stay here again!

A stop at Cape Santa Maria Resort was spectacular. This is one of the only commercialized resorts on the island and has great views and beaches from the cabana bar. From there, we cruised along the eastern side of the island to "Moonshine Bar" where the views of the cliffs and crashing waves were phenomenal, to say the least. Make sure you visit and say "Hi" to Sue. She was tremendous. The next stop was the Beach Bungalow Bar where the locals put on a "Rake and Scrape" event every Thursday for all of the residents. Beautiful people and again, awesome sunsets. (Everyone needs to experience a "Rake and Scrape" Event where the locals play "Saws" and "Wash Boards" and make some beautiful music.)
One of the most memorable days of our stay was a full day of fishing on the ocean with "Daniel". What a phenomenal day we all had!! Ask George to arrange a day with Daniel. You will never forget it. Daniel actually picked us up at George's compound, brought us to the store for groceries and bait, went to the marina, fueled up, loaded the boat and proceeded out to the north end of Long Island for the most astonishing days of fishing we all ever had, and we fish a lot in Florida!! The seas were a bit rough, but he took us to some good fishing holes that produced a lot of snapper for dinner. Then he took us to a reef and we all snorkeled over a reef area that we will never experience again. He took us to a private, sand beach and we chilled out for a while before taking us back to George's compound, where Daniel, our guide, cleaned the fish and grilled them to perfection for our dinner. You need to meet Daniel!!! He is a terrific guide and our "Newest Best Friend"....other than George~~~
On another adventurous day, George guided us to the famous "Kenny's Seaside Villas" on the leeward side of the island. This is truly a must see place...to say the least!!!. Kenny does everything...When you get there, he waves you down to the Tiki Bar on the Ocean, where he is a one stop shop!!! He makes the drinks, prepares the meals and serves them, right in front of you. You have to experience the Conch Salad, prepared especially for you by Kenny. You actually pick our your own live Conch from his fresh Ocean Pool and watch him prepare his wonderful Conch Salad in front of you. Larry and Jackie and Bonnie and Bob will recommend George's Place highly to all!!! You truly need to experience this for yourself! You will NEVER forget this place, guaranteed!!!

REVIEW OF George's Place.....
You will never again experience anything like this in your entire life. George takes care of every need. We knew from the moment we arrived at Stella Maris Airport( another experience) we were treated like royalty. Every person we met on Long Island was like your long lost friend. What a great treat. George arranged every detail , from the moment we arrived til the day of departure. George had a local fisherman dive for lobster and bring lobsters to his compound for our first night's meal. They were the size of a man's forearm and very tasty. We were only there for a week, but we experienced a lifetime of memories. "George's Compound" consists of his beautiful 4000 sf home and 3 rental villas. All of the accommodations were very clean, had all of the amenities anyone needs and from our patio, every morning and evening we experienced the sunrise and sunset over the ocean. Every sunset was different each day, creating another awesome memory. From the time you arrive, you are totally in another world, and what a great world it is. George programmed our entire stay and arranged for all of the accommodations we needed for a week's worth of fun and sun. We saw 14 unbelievable beaches, and every beach was different. The "Trash Beach" is a must see. One of the most memorable experiences is Dean's Blue Hole, where William Trubridge, free dives to depths beyond your imagination. We actually were there on a day when he did a free dive to more than 443 ft. We snorkeled above the blue hole and saw the same dive he filmed on the "60 Minutes" segment the weekend we got back home. That was historical. George provided maps and guidance to "Must Sees" on Long Island. He arranged for a car rental so we could experience firsthand the actual "Island Life". One day we went to Columbus's Monument, on George's recommendation, and climbed to the summit and enjoyed the views of the north end of the island, truly a sight to see. Virtually a panoramic view of the ocean from a summit on the cliffs of Long Island. (REVIEWS CONTINUED....)
