Overall we were really impressed with this house! There is about a 15 minute drive to the house from Florissant, but the dirt roads are very well maintained. We enjoyed the wildlife that we would see on the drive. The house is in a very good location, and there are lots of things to do. There was an issue with the "on demand" hot water heater. I was the first to shower out of our 7 guests, and there's nothing worse than a nice hot shower turning freezing cold! I called the property owner at 7:30 in the morning, and he vowed to send someone out that day. He did as he promised, and called me with a report that night. He told me that the water heater was made to operate 1 item in the house at a time, and that they determined the unit was a little too small for the size of the house. He said for me to make sure no one was using water anywhere in the house while someone was in the shower. It still didn't help. We figured out to turn the shower on, then shut it off while we soaped. As long as you only turned it on to rinse, it would stay warm. It was inconvenient, but it worked. I would suggest for the home owner to get a better hot water heater because overall this was an amazing house. If that was fixed, we would definitely come back. I do have one other suggestion to the owners that you should purchase some mixing bowls that can also go in the microwave and a whisk. We stopped by Walmart and picked some up in Woodland Park for ourselves. We also wished we could've had access to the lower level of the house. I cannot reiterate enough how awesome this house is. We absolutely loved the view of Pikes Peak, and we spent a lot of time on the back patio. The house has really nice furnishings, and we loved having the board games to play. We also enjoyed taking strolls on the 35 acres. All in all, with a few changes, this is an excellent house!
Owner's Response: We do thank you for the information about the Hot Water system . We are so very sorry and have found another service tech to check out this problem and it has been fixed and is handling the whole house . We wish to have each of our guest have a great stay but do understand that sometimes things do happen and we will continue to provide the best care possable for our guest and the homes they stay in.

My husband and I visited the property this past summer. We needed a break from the 100+ temperatures. I had no idea the weather would be so cool with magnificent thunder storms. It was perfect for our purposes. I wanted to get away but I wanted to watch the Olympics on satellite TV. The location was awesome. Once you turn off the highway you begin to experience why so many people want to call this area home.Everytime I looked out the front window I saw Pikes Peak taunting me to climb it. If I looked out the back I had to put my shoes on and go for an amazing hike in the National Forest that connects to the property. Each day we set out on a different adventure; hiking, fossil hunting, bike riding, and went to 2 museums within 15 min of our house. As a geologist my husband was thrilled by the unique Florrisant Fossil Beds nearby. We brought our mountain bikes and had beautiful rides on the roads surrounding us. Hiking is spectacular south of Divide CO. My husband was very surprised to find out I made plans for us to hike up and back down Pikes Peak in seven hours using a trail about 30 mins from the house. I had become obsessed by that beautiful mountain. He has since forgiven me for his altitude sickness but I had a great hike.
We brought food to prepare so dining out was not desired. The kitchen is beautiful and the rest of the house is charming and comfortable. It was very clean and we cannot say enough about the amazing views. The caretakers responded immediately when we could not get the grill started. We were able to watch the London Olympics and were thankful for the dvr to record it. Wifi did not give us any trouble. I loved walking up into the National Forest to make phone calls as my cell service was weak. We look forward to visiting again and would recommend this home to anyone that wants to experience the riches Colorado has to offer.

This place is just not quite ready for prime time. It is an hour from the nearest restaurant- 20 minutes on a dirt road. While it sleeps 8 it only seats 4 at the table. It is not a ski or a hunting location. No instructions on fireplace operations, grill is inoperable because it is double regulated, yellow jackets in the fall are horrible and internet is iffy, at best.
Owner's Response: We are so disappointed to here that you may not have enjoyed your stay. The closest restuarant would have been in Florissant which is just 20 minutes away - not sure if you chose to go into Woodland Park or Colorado Springs. The last leg of the trip does cover some well maintained gravel road but the drive is so worth it - fabulous Pikes Peak Views. If you hike back to the back of the property you will be on National Forest - we have ridden our horses back there - and it is also a designated hunting area. Sorry the wifi was acting up - we have not had that complaint before. This really is a wonderful home, especially if you want some peace and quiet and seclusion. We do have other homes that are in town - perhaps that would be a better bet for you next time. Thanks for the input
