Oasis in the Heart of Trastevere
My husband and I stayed here for six days with our 17 year old daughter last month. The pictures do not do this apartment justice. Extremely clean and very nicely furnished, it was a pleasure to return here after full days of sight seeing. Although San Cosimato is a very busy piazza, particularly in the evenings, we did not find it very noisy at all, especially when the a/c was on (which works very well, but we preferred to not use it often as the cross-breezes when the living room doors and bedroom windows were open were wonderful). The apartment is very close to the number 8 electric train which we used frequently to get to downtown Rome. The San Cosimato market is across the street and we purchased fruit and veggies there daily. Lamberto recommended a cheese market just around the corner and we fell in love with it (as well as the family who owns it; very warm, friendly and helpful), as well as Da Enzo restaurant (superb) just a short walk away. Lamberto met us at the apartment as scheduled, and took the time to give recommendations for restaurants and sight seeing; he also provided staples like milk, eggs, bread and a lovely bottle of wine. The apartment is well-stocked with everything you need, plenty of dishes, towels, washing machine, and loads of reference guides to rome, including maps and bus routes. Trastevere is a wonderful neighborhood that is not "touristy" at all, which is exactly what we wanted; we would not consider staying anywhere else when visiting Rome. We will be back in 2015 and will be booking our reservation with apartment 19 way ahead of time as the availability goes quickly (and with good reason). Can't say enough about this beautiful apartment...it was our "oasis" while in Rome. Thank you Lamberto!
