First vist to Barbados

Our stay could not have been nicer! The apartment, was impeccably clean, roomy, with plenty of light and air. The neighborhood was friendly and seemed safe. Welches Beach was a 5-minute walk away. A little shopping center with grocery, bank, etc. less than 10 minutes. Oistins, with its famous fish fry shops, is across from that. Miami Beach is 15 minutes walk. The Surfer's Cafe across from the shopping center was a nice spot for a drink, a coffee or some light bar fare. JoAnne and her family were very gracious hosts. They provided transportation to and from the airport even though our arrival was very late and our departure was very(!) early. When our flight was delayed a day JoAnne refunded one day's rent without me asking. And when we decided to stay an extra day they accommodated us easily. We were able to get around the whole island using the bus system. and there are bus stops just a few blocks from the apartment. The full-size kitchen was so nice to have. We were able to buy local produce and fish at the Oistins market and prepare our own meals twice a day. We saved money and ate healthier than if we had eaten a steady diet of restaurant and take-out. That, and the fact we walked and swam a lot, led to us coming back from vacation slimmer than we left! It was also very nice to have our own washing machine in the apartment. Next time I will pack fewer clothes and just wash them as needed. This was our first trip to Barbados but I expect to be back soon. I will definitely give JoAnne a call when I do!

My wife, our 2 grownup sons and I stayed there for 8 days at the beginning of January. This is exactly what we were looking for : a peaceful, safe and clean place close to the beach and public transportation, easy walking distance to the supermarket. Don't miss the Fish Fry at Oystins (Uncle George) which is also within 15 minutes walking from there. Free pick-up and drop-out at the airport were provided by Don, a service really appreciated. The place is not on the main road which is a big plus. The neighborhood is extremely safe during daytime and evening. No problem whatsoever. If you are looking for a luxury place with beachview and frontdesk, this is not the place for you. If you want something with a very high value for your dollar, this is certainly the place. The closest public beach was very clean, not crowded, safe (no vendors, no harassment), but no rental of chairs and umbrella (which are available at close-by Enterprise beach). Barbados is extremely safe, people are so friendly. Drivers are much more civilised than here in Quebec City. Do not hesitate to use the public or private (small vans) transport to go across the island (taxi are honest too). In brief, AnnJenn apartments and Don contributed to this memorable stay in beautiful Barbados. Advice: The ready to eat meals at the supermarket are excellent for take out. Also, rum, spicy sauces, and rumcakes are much cheaper there than at the airport duty free shop. Bring 2 pool noodles to play in the ocean. Besides the beach, there are plenty of thing to see. I felt in love with Hunte's Garden. Don't forget you sunscreen and your smile !!!

Nice, relaxing vacation spot

I really enjoyed my stay at Annjenn apartment. The place is simple, but has everything you need to make you comfortable during your holiday. We rented the apartment for 3 weeks (2 young couple and my parents - we are italian). The bedrooms are spacious with nice closet. The kitchen is quite big and has essential equipment. The living room has lot of light, but the sofa bed should be replace since the mattress is not very comfortable. There are two nice terraces (with BBQ) and two bathrooms.
The apartment is about 0.3 miles (500m) from Welches beach, a lovely white wild beach w/ crystal Caribbean sea. The beach doesn't have bar or anything else, it is truly a natural beauty treasure. You can walk to Lawrence Gap if you are looking for extra comfort (umbrella, chairs and refreshments). One of our favorite beach was 5 minutes driving away, called Silversand in the south point.
You have the fisherman market of Oistin (amazing fresh fish daily so cheap!) as well as the grocery store, hardware, bank etc 10 minutes walking from home. I really think the position is convenient no matter where you want to go (20 minutes away from the airport) and near by the entrance of teh highway if you want to explore the north area

Dan was absolutely kind, always available and helpful for anything we need. He picked us up at the airport. even if we came in two different days. I felt in good hands and I would stay there again in case I go back to Barbados.

My family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Annjenn Apartments. It was very clean and well furnished as well as spacious. The owners were very accommodating. The location is quiet yet close enough to the beach and the supermarket and other conveniences. This place is great value for money and we will gladly stay there on future visits to Barbados.

Modern apartment in good location

We just stayed 2 weeks in the 2-bdrm apartment. We had fantastic holidays on the island, and the accommodations were certainly a big part of it. The apartment is very modern, and comfortable. The kitchen and bathroom are very clean. The kitchen is equipped with everything you need to cook, including a microwave and a toaster.
I liked the decor of the apartment with white tiles throughout - perfect for the hot climate. Moving to the bedrooms - the mattresses are good quality.
Internet access was very fast - this was important as I had to check on work.
Location is excellent. Walking distance to a number of beaches, bus stop, supermarket in Oistins. You can walk to St. Lawrence Gap, but if you don't feel like walking it is only 2-3 bus stops away.
The Welches beach was perfect for walking to the town, but too open for spending time during the day. Miami beach was great with a pool like enclosure for kids. We also liked Turtle beach - only 5 minutes from the apartment.
The house is in a very quiet and safe neighborhood. This is not a tourist area - which for me was a bonus.
When we didn't feel like cooking, we dined at Golden Sands hotel - great food and reasonable prices. There are also other restaurants in the area.
The owner is very accommodating and a great host. Highly recommended!

I stayed at these apartments for 6 weeks and it was just like home. This is the perfect place to stay when you come to Barbados. The property was very clean and well-maintained. The owners gave us great service and were always there for our questions and quickly addressed any concerns we had. The neighbourhood was peaceful, quiet and very safe. I would definitely recommend a stay here while in Barbados.

awesome apartment, feels like home

Me and my friends stayed here while we were doing our internship in Barbados for 6 weeks. We love this place, it was clean and neat, the decorations are also very cozy, when we first arrive here, we feel home right away. the landlord are very nice and helpful and gave us lots of information about places to go and things to do. The location is perfect, it is close to supermarket for grocery shopping and also teh popular Oistins where the big fish fry is and most importantly it is close to many beaches so that we can just easily walk to the beach whenever we want. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Annjenn's, it was memoriable and if I were to come back again, i would totally choose this place again and also recommend to whoever is looking for a place to live. :)

Good time at Annjenn Apartments

Last summer my girlfriend and I visited the annJenn apartments, staying close to 8 weeks. The good times made our time fly by, but we have memories to last us a lifetime. What really stood out to us was our proximity to all of the attractions of the South Coast. While Bridgetown was a short bus ride away, we were within walking distance to Oistins and a number of beaches. Oistins was certainly a highlight on Friday nights of course, but also on Thursday nights when locals frequent the outdoor food stands and enjoy karaoke. Our suite was very peaceful, quiet, and quickly felt like our own home. There was a grocery store just a few blocks away that stocked all of our unconventional requests and island favorites at a decent price. And after the unavoidable Barbados heat, our air conditioned bed rooms made all the difference. All in all, the annJenn apartments represent an incredible value, with limitless options. Whether it be for business or leisure, your stay in Barbados will only be improved by a stay in one of these suites. Our extended vacay couldn't have had a better home base. We will be back soon whether it be for a number of weeks or just a weekend.

I headed to Barbados in December 2009 to spend Xmas with friends and family. I chose to stay at AnnJenn's apartments. From the time I stepped into the apartment, I immediately felt at home. The rooms were clean and very spacious. The owner was on hand to welcome me and there was a fruit basket in the kitchen as a welcome present. This was totally unexpected. The apartment consisted of two air-conditioned bedrooms, a bathroom, a living room, a dining room and a kitchen. The rooms had a very tropical theme which added to the atmosphere of the vacation. The apartments were perfectly located, just outside of the downtown core but nearby to all the necessary amenities: supermarket, bank, gas station, restaurants, the beach, public transportation. I thoroughly enjoyed my trip and have recommended these accommodations to my friends and family since.

I have stayed at AnnJenn apartments several times and it's a highly recommended home from home. The neighbours are friendly, but leave you in peace - but they're happy to stop and chat if you say 'hello' as you wander by.
The location is very safe for a woman travelling alone; for a couple or for a family.
It's a 5 minute wander to an absolutely gorgeous beach, (Welches beach) where, if you're lucky, turtles swim over to join you in the water from the nearby jetty at Oistins. If you're lucky, monkeys may come and say 'good morning' from the field nearby.
There are regular and inexpensive buses in to the famous St Lawrence Gap, a popular area with restaurants and night clubs, more gorgeous beaches and beautiful palm trees. The bus continues along the South Coast, past The Garrison and in to Bridgetown along the main road.
If you don't want to hire a car to explore distant parts of the island or take a bus in to Bridgetown, there are some superb restaurants near the apartments, especially Surfers Cafe, at Oistins, if you don't fancy going far from base.
There's a supermarket and some other shops a short wander away and there's a fresh fish market at Oistins where you can get some beautiful fish to cook at home (I mean, the apartment), if you don't want to eat out.
Oistins is a popular night spot on Fridays and Saturdays, with dancing in the street, inexpensive local food and drinks on every corner; a popular nightspot for tourists and locals alike.
AND, there are less mosquitos there than the more expensive places I've stayed in on the West Coast - a major plus, in my opinion! I've been nearly eaten alive on the West Coast but hardly bitten on the South Coast.
Turn everything off and just enjoy the sun, sea and safety of AnnJenn and Barbados. The owners are superb and if you need help with anything, it's sorted before you know it.
Would I stay there again... most definitely.
Would I recommend it to my best friend... yes, and I have.
Do I wish I was there right now... you bet !
