Cinema Room and Private Roof Terrace

'The Tower' has 3 bedrooms which sleep 6 (+baby). It is spacious and beautifully presented - approx. 200 sq m and is set on 4 floors of the exquisitely refurbished Dollarbeg Castle. Originally built in the 19th century for a Victorian railway tycoon, it now combines traditional Scottish baronial architecture with modern comfort and style.

The living area (on the 1st floor) is a cosy and relaxing area, with 2 turrets (with windows). It is beautifully furnished to a high standard with wooden floors and large sofas. Indoor entertainment includes an integrated sound system with individual room controls throughout the apartment. There is also a cinema room with large comfy sofas and a 60 inch screen for tv and dvd's.

The open plan living area space leads to the fully equipped kitchen area, including oven, gas hob, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer.

On the same floor is the master bedroom which has a super king-size bed which can convert to twin beds on request. There is also an en-suite with bath and shower above. Built-in wardrobe space and another turret with window complete the room. A cot is available if required.

The main bathroom is also located on this floor, with separate bath and shower.

The second bedroom also has a super king-size bed which can convert to twin beds on request. The 'Tower' apartment has an interesting lay-out and this room is on its own level off the first flight of stairs.

The third bedroom has a queen size bed and is located up the spiral staircase of the tower on the 3rd floor ( Please note -approx 30 steps up!) A beautiful room with amazing views from windows on 3 sides. (The bed can only be used as a double).

Further up the spiral staircase is the private roof terrace, the perfect place to sunbathe during the day, or relax with drinks in the evening.

Please note there are many stairs to climb! The apartment itself is on the first floor followed by a staircase up to the living area. Further to that is the spiral staircase which has approx 50 steps.

Dollarbeg Castle is ideally situated for both playing/watching golf and sightseeing. Gleneagles is only 15 - 20 min away and visitors are welcome at Dollar Golf Club, only a few minute's drive away. Stirling is only 20 min by car with other amazing castles such as Edinburgh, Scone, Blair and Glamis (childhood home of the Queen Mother) within an hour's drive.

Having already bought one apartment in the castle a few years ago, the opportunity arose to buy another one! This means two families or more can stay at the castle and have the benefit of lots of space.

I especially like the views from the top of the Tower.

Absolutely Perfect

Absolutely perfect! The rooftop terrace is incredible. We have so many beautiful pictures taken from the castle! Our family of four (including two teenage boys) stayed in the apartment for four nights in July. Communication with Sue was detailed, professional and timely, couldn't have been better. We were met on arrival with a welcome basket! We enjoyed the champagne on the terrace, listening to the sheep and watching the sunset. Of course there are a lot of steps, but it's worth it. The three bedrooms and media room gave us room to spread out and relax after a long flight from the states. Everything was top notch- fixtures, furniture, etc. We shopped for food in the village of Dollar, as well as pizza and ate at the Castle Campbell Restaurant. We also ate at a pub in Muckhart which was very authentic with good food and company. Day trips to Edinburg and St. Andrews were easily done, with pleasant drives to both, couldn't have been over 45 minutes. Don't miss the village of St. Andrews - far and away better than the golf course, the ruins are amazing. After our stay at Dollarbeg we traveled to London and Dublin, but the highlight was our time in this incredible castle, everyone wants to return!

Wonderful apartment

My family of 4 plus my father-in-law stayed in the tower apartment for 4 nights in July. The apartment and castle are beautiful. As stated in the title, the apartment is the "tower apartment". The space in cludes a deck on top of the highest tower of the apartment and a bedroom directly below the top of the tower. The apartment has top of the line furnishings and finishes. We enjoyed movies in the cinema room and lounging in the living room after a days of exploring the region. Our only regret is that we didn't stay there longer and keep a day open to just hang around the castle and explore some of the sights close to the castle (Castle Campbell in Dollar and Stirling Castle in Stirling). Dollarbeg is a good base location for exploring Scotland. The castle is about 45 minutes from Edinburg, an hour from Glasgow, and 45 minutes from St. Andrews. While in Dollar we recommend supper in the Castle Campbell Hotel Restaurant. You do need a car and to be able to climb steps in order to use the apartment but it is well worth it. We highly recommend it and hope to make it back there someday.
