This home was designed by the owners and built by craftsman and artisans, in the Old World Style. Its a bit like a modest castle. It's rustic, simple, yet with luxurious touches throughout. The chef's kitchen has marble counters, a commercial oven imported from France, SubZero refrigerator drawers, and is fully equipped for gourmet cooking. The adjoining family room has an Italian woodburning clay pizza oven, walnut parquet flooring, and a sumptuous double-sided leather couch. The Grand Room has limestone flooring, a wood burning fireplace, and antiques including sofas, club chairs and a grand piano built in 1887. You can walk through the woods and access nearby hiking trails. We have designed a sand volley ball court on the edge of the forest providing just a touch of 'beach' to go along with the water views over Puget Sound. You can gaze out the windows looking off the edge of Squak Mountain and see forever....Puget Sound, The Olympics, Beacon Hill in Seattle, Lake Washington, Mercer Island. Sunsets are breathtaking since property faces west...

The house was just perfect for my class of 30. The bedrooms were spacious & could fit at least 4 people in each room. Loved the kitchen- made cooking, eating & cleaning much easier with its low-maintenance floor, complete appliances & large size dinnerware. We all loved the nooks & crannies of the house, but what sold it for the kids was the land. Having a playground in the backyard was awesome. The front yard was where most ball games happened. The view is to die for!
Would love to go back to this property next time my class heads back to the Seattle area!

Wow, this house is an amazing house! We got there at night so the drive up to it was foggy and mysterious. It stayed foggy for a couple of days, which enhanced the mysterious allure to the place. The kids thought it was awesome! After the fog rolled away, there is an amazingly clear view of the city from the back of the house, and on a clear day the mountains past the city. At night the lights were stellar from the master bedroom! The Steam shower (sauna) in the Master bath was a refreshing start to each day. The huge copper tub right next to it looked awesome but we never took the chance to use it as the shower was all we ever wanted!! There was one day where it was really windy but it was just in the back of the house due to the way the hill slopes up to meet the back of the house. The owner was very cordial and answered the phone every time I called. She sent the invoice within minutes after talking to her initially. All in all it was a very pleasant stay!!

We stayed at the "Modest Manor" when we were in Issaquah for my son's wedding. This home was absolutely amazing in every way. The views are fabulous. The house is beautiful and well kept, but also comfortable and felt like home. We loved being able to have our family and friends around us here, and we made many memories.

Whenever we had any questions before or during our stay, the owner was quick to reply and helpful with anything we needed. I would highly recommend this home to anyone I know!

Our stay at this house has been incredibly WONDERFUL! A lot of privacy with amazing views facing west. Also a lot of wonderful hiking trails just 8 to 15 minutes away.

Everyone had a nice cozy time over the weekend at the house. The owner was so kind and provided us with extra pillows and blankets. they really came in
handy because we had a few more people come to the meeting than originally expected. Those who were lucky enough
to grab a bed were happy happy happy. Memory foam mattresses! We all loved the view, and the
house just has so much character. from the unique bathroom faucets to
nice antique furniture around the house....it was just a fun experience. Everyone was praising how wonderful this venue was for our meeting. It's peaceful, quiet, private, serene, and beautiful. We didn't have any children with us but kids would love the nice playground, treehouse and animals in the backyard. Just make sure they don't damage the nice furniture. We highly recommend this place. We will definitely rent this house again!

Spectacular Place

The Modest Manor at Issaquah is nothing short of spectacular. The home is absolutely beautiful and in great condition, well maintained and very clean. The view of Seattle and the Cascades from much of the house was phenomenal and the owner Tania was a delight to work with as she was very accommodating. Clearly Tania, the owner, put a lot of effort into the house as all the fixtures were top quality and very unique. The furnishings were in great shape as well.

The house is so huge, that a very large party could easily stay at the manor. Our family of 8 loved it as all the kids had there own bedroom and bath, a first for them.

Access to Seattle was a breeze, taking about 20-25 minutes to get to downtown Seattle. The house is on the very top of a mountain and it does take a few minutes to drive up to the top, but the views and the property overall made it worth the trip. The house has a beach volleyball setup and trampoline which my family loved and also several farm animals (Alpacas, Sheep and Chickens) that were fun to feed.

The only modest downside, was that the nearest stores for groceries was about 10 minutes down the mountainside. Wasn't really a big deal, as once you got down the hill, there was no shortage of places to shop, but it did take a bit of planning.

If you are planning a trip to the Seattle area, stay here you won't be sorry.
