This Lake House is Just Right!
This property was exactly what we were looking for. Booking and checking-in was easy and convenient. It is a small but comfortable 1 bedroom, 1 bathroom house on Lake Placid (aka the Guadalupe River), somewhere between Seguin and New Braunfels (so convenient). The house is quaint, clean, and cozy, and it had pretty much anything we needed (flat screen TV with satellite, well stocked kitchen, comfortable bed, toiletries, strong air conditioning, ceiling fans, etc). The entire back of the house is a wall of windows, looking out onto the covered back porch, with the wonderful lake just beyond. There's also a BBQ grill, ceiling fans and hummingbird feeders to help you relax (as if the view of the lake isn't enough). The yard is well kept and provides easy access to the dock and lake.
Some points that did not detract but I thought might be worth noting: there is a factory/mill across the lake/river. While you can't see it (for the trees), it does emmit a 24/7 humming sound. Again, this did not bother us (and you could not hear it from inside), but some people might not like it. Also, there was no internet access. Not always a problem these days (with phones and Ipads and the like), but I should have noticed that this was not available.
I can't stress enough how much we enjoyed our stay -- we cannot wait to return (to try out the kayak!).
