The perfect couples getaway spot
My husband and I stayed at this loft cottage for one week and had an excellent stay. The reviews and pictures were accurate. We found the cottage to be very clean, well-kept and maintained with good amenities: bath towels, clean linens, basic kitchen utensils, ceiling fans, beach towels, a small cooler, toaster oven, etc. The loft ladder to the bed is easy to maneuver although should be considered if anyone has issues with climbing a short, relatively vertical ladder.
The cottage has a small deck with two beach chairs and a small habachi.
Linda, the owner, was extremely hospitable, helpful and accessible, providing tips on the town and general island logistics.
The cottage is a short walk to the beach (1-2 mins?) and we found the beach to be very private and beautiful, with virtually no one there in the middle of July.
The town of Sconset is very close to the cottage (1-2 min walk) and has simple groceries, post office, liquor store and great restaurants (highly recommend Sconset Cafe for dinner).
The cottage is approx 1 mile from a 9-hole public golf course and approx 7-8 miles into town, with a bike path along the main road. Public transportation via bus is very close and easy. We rented two mountain bikes as our mode of transport and biked all over the island, very manageable if that's your thing. Linda suggested Youngs Bike Shop and they dropped the bikes off at the cottage and picked them up - very easy.
We would definitely return to this cottage and would highly recommend it for someone / a couple that's looking for a low key, fairly-priced loft / bigger-than-a-studio cottage in Nantucket. It served us perfectly!
