4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths Tri-Level, great layout, 1500 sf deck three levels
This beachfront home has the best view of any home on the West End, yet close to the fun of downtown Galveston. Easy walk to Galveston State Park. Our beach has a private feeling and is very quiet (no cars are allowed to drive on beach thus, no worries about the kids/dogs). Once you cross the bridge from the mainland you will find a unique experience. We feel like we are entering a different world when we visit our beachfront island home!
MISC: All photos are post IKE, we have rebuilt Summer Wind from Head to Toe. This home is set back, plenty of beach in front and high tide does NOT come under the home as many beach front homes in the area do. Please note, the map illustration makes it appear there are lots in front of Summer Wind this is not the case, this is a front row, ocean front home!

My family n I spent Easter weekend at this beach house..not only was t house beautiful, t view was breathtaking...we could see our kids playing in t sand from t windows...we loved it...t owners were so courteous n t house was very clean and well stocked with all t essentials...my mom was so impressed she wants it for mothers day weekend...it was t best easter weekend ever..we will definitely be there again..we didnt want to leave..thank you to mr john n mrs cheryl for making this possible..sandra

Perfect location right on the beach, beds comfortable , a/c worked great and awesome views from the decks !! Just needs some TLC !
Owner's Response: Lori and Branden, I am glad you enjoyed the place, and I do appreciate your input. I don't know how long the table leg was broken but I found out about it this past friday and have a new one on order. The rest of the items you mentioned should take my repair guy a few hours to fix. I always say in my email that I welcome feedback, (especially when things are not what they should be), but I will have to make a point of calling and asking how everything was more often. Thanks again and I hope we see you again soon.

Galveston Beach House with Incredible views!!

This beach house was everything it was billed to be and then some!! The views from the deck and two of the bedrooms were incredible to say the least. Customer service from the owner/caretaker was outstanding. The neighbors/renters in the surrounding homes were mostly families so the evenings were quiet and relaxing. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone looking for a wonderful beach get away!!

THE BEST STAY EVER!!!

My family and I stay at different beach houses all the time. But I must say, this was the best ever!!! We had such a wonderful time. The home is so beautiful. We fell asleep listening to the waves and woke up to the sunrising. The owner and I had wonderful communication and the neighbors were great! We would definitely be back!!!! Thanks HomeAway for allowing me to experience the Best Birthday GetAway ever for my husband. This was the best birthday I think he has ever had.

The most fantastic home and amazing owner!

Although the home appears a little dated in the pictures (and quite frankly is a little dated in the interior) do not I repeat do not let that dissuade you from renting this exceptional home for your next visit! I was reluctant to post such a glowing review because I selfishly wanted to keep this place as a 'hidden gem' but we simply had too great of a time not to want to share!
Pros:
Location, location, location! Right on water with 270 degree water views! Those decks! amazing! You wake up and hang out in the house and it feels like you are already on the beach!
Amazingly well stocked! Towels, shampoo, soap, even cooking oil! They have everything you need for a fantastic stay
Ease of communication, the owner is fantastic, didn't mess with a security deposit and was so easy to get in touch with throughout the booking process!
Cons: It's a tight squeeze in all the bedrooms, keep that in mind if you plan to sleep with more than 2 people in each room (that includes kids or babies), the bathrooms are tiny! And there is only one tub in the place (rough only if you have multiple little ones like we did)
But let me say again the pros FAR outweigh the cons! Who spends time in their rooms at the beach anyway? Especially not with that view out your living room windows!
Once again, big thanks to John and we look forward to booking again with you soon!!!!!

Owner's Response: Thanks for the nice review, (the pros and the cons). I love it there myself, but it is set up best for summertime when you can spend most of your time on the decks or the beach, and you can just spray the kids off in the outdoor shower! John.

Location, location, location.....this property has it...
Nice quaint street, lots of windows facing ocean, short distance to beach.
Close enough to Galveston activities and restaurants, but far enough for quiet time.
Owner was a pleasure to work with and I would visit this property again, and would recommend it.

Fell in love with this house!!

My family and I would just like to say that we enjoyed every minute of our stay here! Having the beach just steps away for swims throughout the day and having the shower on the lower level to rinse off was wonderful! The lower deck area with the lounge chairs and the hammock were very enjoyable. The home was comfortable, no one felt cramped. We had relatives visit us and everyone was happy. The owner and his representative answered every question we had and were very friendly. The beach was our main attraction, views from almost every part of the house. We enjoyed visiting the the shops at the Strand and Fisherman's Wharf restaurant. We will definitely visit again!

Great Beach House

We have rented several beach houses in Galveston over the past few years, but this house is the best by far. The house was great with amazing gulf views, but the best part was the multple decks. We could sit on the deck and watch the kids play on the beach or just take in the views. The early morning sunrises were spectacular. The owner and local representative was quick to respond to any needs we had. Our family had a great time and look forward to staying at John's beach house on our next vacation to Galveston.

What a wonderful house on the beach. You have great views from many angles even if you are in the kitchen doing dishes! The house is exactly as described by the owner. Owner was very easy to communicate with and answered all e-mails very quickly. The house was stocked with many things that you normally have to buy for yourself when renting a beach house such as new bars of soap and pump hand soap in each bathroom. Big bottles of shampoo and conditioner in each bath. Lots of towels and most every cooking utensil and pan you could need. Also if you have kids, don't bother to bring beach toys. There are tons of them in the shed below. There are also several chairs to use on the deck or take to the beach. Just pack your clothes and come enjoy.
The beach is truly right out the door and we loved going to the beach every day, but the thing we loved the most was the deck below the house. You could use it anytime during the day and always be in the shade. There was always a great breeze and the hammock saw lots of use. We brought a small pool and put it on the deck for the grandchildren to use during the hot part of the day. The deck is enclosed so that our dog could see us when we were on the beach, but she was safe at the house. There is also a large table on the deck and we used it several times for lunch for the grandkids so they could stay in their bathing suits and play.
Than you John for sharing your house with us. We hope to return in the future.
