Dreaming of Returning

This place was really amazing, and I'll just start off by saying that we are already looking at dates to come back. It's very clean and has everything you could possibly need. We grilled out every night, walked the town, stayed in watched movies, and Maggie is so nice. She even helped us out with some of my work documents by helping me print and fax something important.

It's a 5-minute walk to a private beach, and anything you need from the town is a stone's throw away. We couldn't ask for anything more, what a blast!

Thanks Maggie!

Staying at Maggies

My daughter and I were visiting New York for 2 weeks from May-June and I wanted our 3rd week to be at the beach, giving us a chance to catch up after a" full on "time taking in the sights of the big apple. It was the reviews and location that made me decide to stay here. As with anything, you never really know quite what to expect until you arrive.

We were not disappointed, the place was immaculate and Maggie has certainly thought of everything necessary to make your holiday perfect. I loved the backpack beach chairs! As my daughter and I were from the UK, we didn't need to bring bulky items such as beach towels. All were provided.

The large BBQ was incredible, I don't think Maggie has missed a thing. Sadly we had mixed weather and therefore could not chill on the beach everyday as we had hoped, so the DVD's were very welcome, as we spent time inside.

Maggie was extremely accommodating especially on our last day, she let us use her chairs and towels to spend a few hours on the beach, (as it was the best day we had had all week! ) before we left for our afternoon flight. Of course we had already officially " checked " out, but we left our luggage there, and had some briliant much needed sunshine on our last day, which rounded off the holiday nicely.
Maggie had told us we could use the outdoor shower after we had finished, which was really great. So, it was really the perfect end to a perfect holiday.
The people of New York and East Atlantic beach were all amazing and so friendly. We used all public transport during our stay, even going to Connetticut and Southampton, it wasn't a problem at all, and we really did have a great holiday.
I reccommend Maggies place, it is comfortable, clean, and fantastically located for the beach!! The beach is fab too, very clean, the Atlantics not bad either, better than the North Sea, that's for sure!!
Thank you Maggie, we are missing NY and Jessie is looking into University in NY for Sept 2013!! That would mean we could be back, you just never know.

We Loved This Place

We needed a quick beach week getaway that was close to the city since one of us needed to commute for a few days. This was the perfect spot. Great for the two of us to relax, be right next to the beach which was amazing. Maggie was so wonderful and helpful, and the place was spotless. We grilled every night in the backyard, watched movies on the couch, and a few times wandered down to the "main drag" in LB for a drink and a bite. So relaxing, beautiful setting, and felt like a full beach vacation even though we were only 45 minutes from home! Wish we could go back this year but too much already on our summer schedule but we would absolutely recommend this place to anyone!

You Can't Do Better Than This In Long Beach !

You Can't Do Better Than This In Long Beach !

We've visited family & vacationed in Long Beach for 15 seasons. Trust me on this one - look for a Long Beach weekly rental on Craigslist. They're almost impossible to find, unless you know "a friend of a friend". Look at the prices the Allegria Hotel is charging for a midweek stay.

Then contact Maggie and Viana. You'll be very glad you did. They are professional and friendly, and really make you feel welcome.

There are four other excellent and informative reviews from 2010 below.

I'm glad ours in the first for 2011. I'm happy to report that the apartment still appears like it was finished last week. If possible, the unit shows better, and is better equipped and accessorized than the attached photographs.

Very nicely decorated for the beach, and they really captured the Long Beach vibe.

Maggie told us she tried to include everything she would want, or need, if she were the guest. We think she succeeded well beyond our expectations.

Location ! Beach access ! Bagels, breakfast, lunch, coffee, and Italian ices
a half-block away ! Great dining & bar hopping choices on West Beech Street ! (Our personal favorites are Brucie's Bel Aire on New York Ave for pizza & Italian, and Shine's bar on West Beech & New York Ave., where the locals go for an old-school LB cold one). If you'd rather stay home, C-Town Supermarket is 2 blocks away with all the grillables, and there is a brand new Weber gas grill and a table for four on your patio.

What are you waiting for ? Call Maggie & Viana, and escape to a little piece of paradise ! We will, the next time we visit Long Beach.

We love the sand we take home in our shoes !

Look No Further!

We stayed in late August 2010 and enjoyed our time tremendously. The unit is immaculate. Towels, chairs etc are ready for you when you arrive. It is steps from the beach (beach pass included) and restaurants (loved every one)…

If you live in NY and drive you’ll love parking your car for the week and never having to move it. If your coming from out of town or are taking public transportation, it’s still unbelievably convenient (via LIRR)!

If you’re looking for a nice relaxing week at the beach, with good food and a great atmosphere… Look no further!

Thanks Maggie and Viana!

Wonderful Beach Getaway!

I spent 4 days during the week here and it was absolutely wonderful! A 5-minute walk from a beautiful private beach (the beach pass included with the apartment). The place is clean, new, with everything you need – fully supplied kitchen, TV, DVD, internet – very comfortable, beach towels and chairs. The owners were very professional and great to deal with. The neighborhood has restaurants and grocery stores, but simple and quiet. I'm from New York City, so it's not very exotic, but it was a perfect way to get away with a friend for 4 days and have a nice break and yet still be near to town if necessary. My father was able to come join us for a day easily on the LIRR. The apartment doesn't have much sunlight, but seeing as that we were at the beach all the time in the sun that wasn't a problem. There's AC and a private outdoor shower. I had never done this before and didn't quite know what to expect, but I'm very happy I took the leap and did it. Very refreshing. Right near the city but you feel far away and if you like the beach it's perfect, you don't need anything more!

Perfect Getaway Apartment

5 of 5

I spent two weeks this summer in a pristine, well equipped one bedroom apartment a block from the beach (the pictues on the web site do not do it justice!). The host was amazing, always making sure I had everything I needed from DVDs/Videos to watch on rainy days (I think there was one rainy(ish) day the entire stay), to a fully, and I mean fully, equipped kitchen (not to mention the out door eating area and grill). There is both an indoor and outdoor shower, and laundry facilities as well. This was my first time venturing into the arena of vacation rentals, and am already planning my return to this rental. I so enjoyed riding a bicycle on the boardwalk everyday. Well, almost everyday. I did drive out to the wineries (YUM!) on the North Fork of Long Island, on one day, and spent a day in N.Y.C (caught a Broadway show),on another. Try shopping for Broadway tickets on line ahead of time; are many discount ticket sites on the web. FYI, Buddy's Bicycles, which is a short walk from the rental unit, on Beech Street, gave me a terrific rate on a 2 week bicycle rental. His rental rate could not be beat any where in town!. Just tell him you heard about the shop from the "girl in Texas". Everything is within walking distance to the apartment, including Mollies, where you can buy fresh ocean faire, either cooked or to cook at home. Many bars and restaurants as well. Ate great sushi at Nagahamas, on Park near Long Beach Road; was great (and I'm picky)! JoJo Apples, in Point Lookout was terrific. Ask for Nicole; she's the nicest and most helpful of all the wait staff! She always steered me towards the best dishes. Ate there many times during my stay Again, mention the "girl from Texas". Also enjoyed the Point Lookout Clam Bar. The Beach House, in the West End, was very good as well. And lest we forget the Bagel place and the grocery store located about a block away! Everything was so accessable! Want to catch a bus to town (perhaps to the train station that conveniently takes you right to 34th Street in the great N.Y.C./ Penn Station)? All it takes is $1.50. Train ticket prices vary depending on whether the train you take is during peak/off peak times. Want to catch a taxi to the train station instead? Only $5.50 (plus tip of course), and I suggest West Beech Street Taxi (they're closer and faster). Taxi ride to JFK airport is $35.00, plus an additional $2.00 for the toll (coming back into Long Beach), and again, plus tip. Have a great trip!
