Our Best Trip to NYC Ever

Our son is a graduate student at Columbia University. We chose this property because it was a short distance from Columbia, and it turned out to be a great place to stay for the week of his spring break. All the reviews, pro and con were fairly accurate. We found this to be a great value, much to our liking, with a well supplied kitchen for cooking, and perfect location (only half a block from the subway!) for getting around town fast. It's an old apartment, very authentic, and very modestly furnished, but clean and it provided a LOT more space than any hotel we have stayed at on previous trips to NYC. It was also a very safe and quiet location in a pretty neighborhood. We did not use the private garden due to the winter season but that would be great in the summer. The owner was very good about contacting us when we had an interruption in water service one night. He left messages on our cell phone while we were at the theater to tell us the water had been cut off. We had to buy drinking water because it could not be repaired until the next morning, but were amazed and pleased that he recognized the inconvenience and not only refunded the cleaning fee but also brought a potted plant for the coffee table for us to enjoy that last day or two. That was pretty classy we thought. We thoroughly enjoyed the city, one new activity was the High Line Park, the Intrepid, and the New York Aquarium at Coney Island. Since we had an entire week we got to try an new restaurant every day: Yemen, Greek, Thai, Latin, Vegetarian, you name it. Best week in New York ever. We definitely would stay at this apartment again if we have the opportunity. Very Enjoyable.
