My family has just returned from a wonderful stay at beautiful, well kept Ridgecrest which was our home away from home for our daughter's JMU graduation celebration. The pictures of the home don't do it justice. The home was very spacious for all our family who shared the home with us during and stay and excellent for hosting additional family members who joined us for the celebration luncheon. The home is well equipped with kitchen items and the upper level has 2 tables to accommodate guests comfortably. Because we had older family members who had difficulty with stairs, we were very pleased to find a property that had the kitchen, den and bedrooms on one level so those guests did not have to use the stairs. The living room had very comfortable furniture and the deck was beautiful. The Massanutten resort area is very peaceful and serene and it is about 35 min drive into Harrisonburg where there are plenty of restaurants, grocery stores etc.
We were very thankful to the Tomneys, particularly Chuck for his responsiveness and courtesy. He was very prompt with all emails and very complete with instructions regarding basic cleaning requirements, access to secure WIFI etc.
We would highly recommend this property to others particularly those families coming to join the graduation excitement--more cost effective than having everyone reserve separate hotels and eating out at restaurants. With a home as comfortable and spacious as Ridgecrest everyone can stay together, cook and enjoy meals together, golf at Massanutten, go to the indoor waterpark, play putt-putt, and ride go carts! But ultimately whatever your reason for visiting you will not be disappointed and we are quite certain you will want to return....and so begins are planning for our next graduate--Class of 2022--can't wait!!!!

We just returned from a four day stay and had a wonderful experience. The house was very spacious, comfortable and provided us with everything we needed for a delightful family getaway. We especially liked the three separate sleeping areas; rooms with queen beds adjacent to rooms with bunk beds. This is especially helpful for families with young children. The kitchen is large and can accomodate large numbers. The downstairs gameroom was a big hit with our granddaughters. Having a washer/dryer on each floor helped tremendously. The location is minutes away from the ski slopes, tubing and the water park. We would rent this house again and recommend it to others.

Great location, great rooms, peronsal comments I make make to owner regarding caretaking of facility - this home has a game room and is family friendly.

The only downside I had to this property was that the downstairs microwave and oven didn't work and that the pool sticks were all broken when we arrived. The manager did get us new pool sticks fairly quickly. We really enjoyed staying there and would probably stay there again as long as our numbers don't get to big. The only other item was small but I think that the cleaning crew is not doing a great job doing the floors. There was alot of trash and dust bunnies in the corners. Other than that the place was nice, close to everything and my family had a terrific time.

Owner's Response: Thanks so much for the review and am very happy that you had a good stay. The house experienced a power surge that knocked out the circuitry for both the stove/oven and microwave in the second kitchen. We put a note on the microwave stating that both were out of order and was waiting to be repaired. The stove/oven was repaired and a new microwave was sitting on the counter so during your stay both were operational. The note stating that the appliances were out of order was never removed by our repair person or by us. We have now taken care of removing the sign, but be assured that both appliances were in working order during your stay.
The pool sticks, ping pong paddles and balls are a never ending issue getting them repaired or replaced. Some guests have damaged the items and never report to us so sometimes the next guest arrives without fully functioning pool cues. Once we were notified our manager provided new pool sticks the next day.
The comments on the cleaning is also welcomed and the cleaning crew will be made away of the issues noted. It is truly the intent to make this home your home and provide you with top notch service.

Great, fun house. Lots of space and activities in the house not to mention all that is Massanutten. Went with five 13 year old girls to celebrate our daughter's 13th birthday. We all had a blast!

The home is just wonderful - an absolute joy to behold! They have all of the amenities for a large family or gathering, and the general layout is very accommodating. We had such a wonderful time, and our family Christmas gathering was superb. Thank you for letting us stay in such a wonderful home :)

Excellent Home with Fabulous Amenities Close to Everything!

This home was perfect for our group of 12! With the pool/pingpong table, foosball table and amenities in the kitchen to prepare any range of meals, we were able to relax, take in the beautiful views and enjoy some quality family time.
