Thank you for visiting us. We are located approximately 8 miles north of Leakey in Rancho Real on the west fork of the Frio River just off of Ranch Road 336. The property is approximately 5.5 acres and resides on the Frio River (about 350 Yards from the house at the top of the property).
The Frio River gets its name for its cool and consistent flow and is a popular summertime destination for those wishing to enjoy the beauty of the Frio Canyon and Texas Hill Country. We will do our best to make your stay here as enjoyable as possible.

Great Home Great Host

Sorry I haven't done this sooner, but better late than never. We stayed here for a week in June 2012. We had a large group, ages 4 thru 64. We all had a great time. The photos don't do the house justice. It's set up perfect and the beds are very good. Mark, our host was wonderful. He was very attentive and helpful. My biggest complaint was, the fridge was too stocked with food. LOL. There was already plenty of catsup, mustard, flour, sugar, salt, pepper, even coffee and etc... and we brought more. I was a little concerned about the distance to the water when we first arrived, but soon realized it was OK. It's not right on the water but you do have private access with plenty of room. We almost had this part of the river to ourselves. Lots of trails for the kids to explore and the view is wonderful. No need to stock up on groceries and adult beverages before you get to Leakey. they have a nice little merchantile grocery and the prices are just as good as in Uvalde. WE all had a great time and will go back. I have recommended Marks place to many of my friends and YES we did get our pies and ice cream. yummmy

Great place

We had a large group and we all enjoyed our stay. The property manager was awesome. All the beds were really comfortable and the pictures of the homes does not do it justice. We enjoyed the BBQ pit and roasting marshmallows in the fire. We all has a blast! We will go back again.

Great place in the hills

This is a great place to hangout with six kids in tow. Lots of room to run around, and deer on property. They just loved Mark and his ATV rides.
THe cottage was clean, well furnished and stocked, and there were so many secluded places along the river which we had all to ourselves.
We had a fun time grilling under the big tree - and it is fun to watch the texas thunder in the hills while sipping scotch on the upstairs balcony.
Thanks for the pie and ice cream - you made us feel right at home.

The Best Place to stay Leakey

We had a wonderful time at this home. Its beautiful inside and out.. It was funished with much more than and other home we rented .... And Mark the manger of the property.. Is the best..He went way out of his way when we had problems with our motorcylces. And trust me he really did not have too.
.You could see deer everywhere in the evening and mountains all around... and the nights... seeing the big beautiful sky and the stars...I think we stayed out around the bbq area untill late at night.. The river was a little walk..but very nice area.. and during the drought there was water there....
If you are really looking to get away and relax THIS IS THE PLACE,,, your not to far from Leakey May God Bless You Mark

Beautiful Mountain Home in Leakey

What an incredible place! Beautiful, practically new home in the quite hills of Leakey. Mark made us feel at home and tended to our every need - and yes, he greeted us with a hot, freshly baked Leakey-famous apple pie and Blue Bell ice cream - yummy! Spacious accomodations, huge flat panel TV in the living room and a great BBQ area. At night spent time staring at the amazing view of the stars against an almost pitch black sky. For those looking for a place to stay while you enjoy the great motorcycle riding, this is as good as it gets - right off of FM 336. Thanks for your hospitality. We'll be back!

Vacation Getaway

We spent July 4th week here 2011. Our Host, Marc couldn't have more gracious to make sure that we had everything we needed along with showing us around several area's to wade or deep swim in. Water is across the street on the property within walking distance. Yes there is water at his fabulous cabin. Lot's of room to spread out and hotel quality beds. Pictures on web are nothing compared to in person. We also visited Garner State Park which also has lots of water for swimming, only 20 min. away. I was sorry that I only stayed 3 nights. My grandaughters keep talking about our great time that we had. 1st time I have never wanted to leave a vacation and rush home to my own bed. Thank you Marc. Spring Break Getaway!

First of all Mark the owner was the most gracious host. He gave our family a tour and was so nice. We were welcomed with a gallon of Blue Bell Ice Cream and two pies...YUMMY!!! He actually knows how to make you feel so at home. We loved being able to walk with the kids down to the river and watch them play...so many great memories for my kids, my family and friends. Seeing all the wildlife and walking in the cold Frio river...WOW!! I would recommend this house and visit to anyone. You will not be disappointed. Great place to gather with your family or friends and just spend time together; enough activites for everyone... No one leaves upset. "Thanks Mark"

Beautiful Home on a Beautiful Piece of Property

I was just here two weekends ago for a ladies' getaway. The home is absolutely beautiful, comfortable and one that is hard to leave once you've stayed there. The beds are very comfortable as well. My favorite part is that it is secluded and private. Oh, the homemade pie and ice cream didn't hurt either. Mark, the property manager, is a great host and makes sure all your needs are taken care of. I would highly recommend staying in this home for any occasion.

Great Family Getaway

We visited here Labor Day weekend and had the best time. There were 6 adults and 3 kids 2 years old and under. It was wonderful being able to just cook in the kitchen or use the grill. The kitchen comes stocked with everything you need such as spices, condiments, untensils, pots, pans, and not to mention the fresh baked pie and Blue Bell ice cream that was delivered to us by the owner. We drove a short distance to a part of the river that we had all to ourselves. The owner was great about showing us some quiet areas. There is also a firepit right below the house where we all cooked some s'mores. There is no need to bring anything but yourself, clothes, and groceries. You will not be disappointed! If you are looking for a place to relax and enjoy nature then this is the place for you. I don't know who had more fun, the kids or the adults!
