Great location, BUT needs some things
Pros: Great Location; Gated Country Club; Extremely quiet neighborhood; Very helpful local contact to deal with issues; Extremely Clean; Pet Free; Abundant bicycle lanes and paths; Comfortable beds; Owner replaced failed refrigerator promptly;
Cons: Owner has never lived in this house, purchased as a rental in 2010; Long waits and hassles accessing through the guarded gate - owner suggested I purchase a 90 day pass from the Country Club for our one month rental; Furnishings sparse, worn and uncomfortable - e.g. 1/2" plywood inserted under couch cushions for support, living room not really furnished; owner explained that most of furnishings were there as staging furniture when she purchased; no water treatment system in area where virtually every house has a water softener and reverse osmosis system for drinking water; no hot water circulation pump so takes approximately three minutes to reach faucets in bathrooms; dishwasher takes 2 hours to cycle - we found we had to wash cutlery by hand prior to using dishwasher (probably related to poor water quality);
While we were there, we were able to meet owners and view other VRBO/ Homeaway rental properties in the Anthem Country Club in this price range and this house does not compare well to them.

Thank you for the review. We appreciate feedback from our guests. We learn from them and thus continue making improvements for future and returning guests.
To address some of your concerns;
Unfortunately, we have no control over the speed at which homeowners/guests get in and out of the gated community through the guardhouse. For all guests I suggest purchasing a $25 temporary gate transponder to avoid a possible bottleneck at the main entrance.
As to the furniture, while not crowded, every room is fully furnished, and our previous guests have found our vacation rental to be attractive, clean and comfortable. Also, both the refrigerator and dishwasher are new and name brand appliances.
We agree with you Arizona water is hard, and we will be installing a water softener treatment system.
While you were our guest, we installed carbon monoxide detectors at your request, changed a couple of burned out light bulbs and replaced the propane tank when it was exhausted during your stay.
Thanks for notifying us that you broke one of our chairs and walked through the screen of our patio door. They've already been replaced and repaired.
I believe we've been very accommodating and responsive to your needs and requests, and am very surprised and disappointed at your review.
I believe your review may stem from our inability to accommodate your request to stay an extra day past your checkout date. I know you were very upset about it, please know we would have booked you for the additional time if we didn’t already have arriving guests.
