Be Aware this property is not as it is represented on the internet
That was never disclosed to me and I feel is an unfair business practice, since it is NOT mentioned anywhere in your contract. It’s not an extreme amount it’s the principal of the matter.
Concerning the rental..the property was beautiful, I am sorry to say that I was disappointed with the cleanliness. There were many roaches in the lodge and bungalow and when we went to the adjoining bunkhouse there were fleas. I had previously explained that we have family members who have severe allergies to cats and dogs and would have expected that the rental would have been inspected for such issues.
We were trying to show a DVD / Slide show in the lodge and the DVD player continually skipped and stuck, when the DVD was put into a lap top it worked perfectly, so the DVD player is not working properly and should be replaced.
One of the grills (smoker) actually had maggots in the bottom of it and had to be bleached and thoroughly cleaned before it’s use. There are 2 other grills that need to be removed since they are inoperable due to missing parts and are a hazard and caused a minor accident.
There is a chair in the lodge in the dining area that has a loose leg, you may want to check it as we discovered it before our event and removed for the event but put it back in it’s place after the event.
One of the coffee pots in the lodge doesn’t work properly as it flowed all over the counter, it was placed below the counter.
There was NO satellite service in ANY of the rentals other than the lodge...very disappointing.
I have never rented a venue, cabin, house where the owner’s clothes were in the closets..very creepy it felt as though we were invading someone’s space. By the way, we do rent cabins, houses, cottages as a family and I must say we have never encountered the problems we experienced.
Overall we were blessed and overcame the obstacles and did have a wonderful time. Be advised that the property is not what is presented on the internet it is aged and the photos are apparently staged and the communication with the owners leaves a lot to be desired...no return of signed contract, vague answers to no return emails or phone calls I finally resorted to texting one of the owners and got a reply in a reasonable amount of time. Lastly, what the contract doesn't tell you is that if you don't pay them with cash and they charge your credit card they will add an additional 3 % to your total rental. We were asked to leave cash on the table on our departure..really?
Owner's Response: Obviously the reviewer was upset with us. The review came because she was upset that I failed to tell her there was a difference in cash and credit card price. As for the complaints I can only say that the house is under contract for insects. It is sprayed regularly. After the complaint the property was checked, especially for fleas and none were found. To this date none have been found. The TV's are also under contract with a choice of over 200 channels for all of our houses. This particular house had no problems but they did mention other houses that they rented. Sometimes renters get the satellite off track and others don't know how to get it back. The TV's worked fine when we checked. There was a grill that had not been used and it has been removed. These renters came and viewed the property a couple of weeks before they rented it and were pleased. We welcome anyone to check it out first if they think there might be a problem. This is our home away from home and we like to share it. We take good care of it.
