The photos do not do justice to this beautiful home! My husband and I went with our twin infants and we just loved it. Katy, the owner, thinks of everything and could not have been more accomodating. This was the perfect lakefront getaway - just what we were looking for! The only negative was that we had to leave. Thanks Katy!!

Our Mini Honeymoon!

My wife and I wanted to get away for a "mini-moon" after our wedding, and needed a quiet lakefront to escape to, and relax after all the wedding excitement. This house was PERFECT. Gorgeous setting, spacious, clean, and VERY comfortable. The pictures really dont do it justice, I was so pleased upon walking through the door. I am absolutely going to rent this place again with friends and family. We had a fire outside by the lake every night, and watched the sun go down, and it was beautiful...just what we needed to enjoy our new marraige! We made use of the lake and paddled daily, exploring the coves and islands. Thank you so much Katy for making our "mini-moon" extra special!

Fantastic Getaway, Great Value, Wonderful House

5 of 5
Submitted: June 30, 2011 Stayed: June 2011
After checking everywhere for a weekend space that I thought would hold friends and family from near and far, I came across this listing. I could not have been more pleased by the house, its amenities, its surroundings, and the thoughtfulness put into furnishing such a wonderful place. We swam, we canoed, we paddleboated, we relaxed by the fires (indoor fireplace and one by the water), the house had everything ready for us. Some of my more ambitious friends ran the perimeter of the lake (4 miles), we all played basketball and football at the facilities nearby like we were teens again. My friend, who is a professional chef, needed nothing but groceries to prepare a five-course meal, there were sets of dishes for every occasion, and a place to comfortably seat 12 people. While the area had been billed as having parks and hiking trails to discover, I found that the house and places nearby more than fit the bill.

I should also say that this house is very much worth your money, Katy (the owner) is very intuitive and anticipated every need. She doesn't charge the onerous taxes and cleaning fees that most houses charge, so really, you feel like you are staying at a friend's house for the weekend.

Like other commenters, I agree that the pictures both of the house and the lake do not do either justice. This house hosted a group of finicky New Yorkers, woodsy Texans, crunchy Californians, and corporate Washington, DCers and the house impressed them all. The beds were very comfortable, the master suite is beautiful, and the rooms are charmingly furnished. Simply perfect.

Best Valued Vacation Home

5 of 5
Submitted: April 18, 2011 Stayed: April 2011
When I search for the vacation home, I consider and compare several things like: number of bed rooms, bathrooms, number of people who can sleep, and the price, and finally the reviews. I choose this vacation home for two reasons: One was the price – when I called Katy, the owner, and asked about the price, the cleaning fee and the tax were included in the rental price. I have never seen the rental price like this. Most of the owners charge $125 to $250 for cleaning and 10%-12% tax. On top of that use of the boats and equipments are free. For all this you will save at least $200-$300. Equally important was the reviews people wrote. All of them gave wonderful reviews and that made me decided to rent this house. When we came to this rental home and stayed 3 nights with my friends, we were all impressed by sights, maintenance and cleanness, thoughtfulness and kindness of owner. I absolutely agree with all others who wrote the reviews and gave five stars. My wife was very happy because she had everything she needed in the kitchen. All adults guest were happy, and the kids were very happy because they found so many things they could play with. I also thank Katy for her kindness to offer us to stay another day because it rained for three days and we could not enjoy the outside and the lake while our stay. We regret that we could not stay another day, but if we have an occasion that we need a rental home in this vicinity, we will definitely come to this one again.

Great View, Great House, Great Memories!!

5 of 5
Submitted: February 24, 2011 Stayed: February 2011
Stayed their with my entire family in Feb 11'. We arrived shortly after a 6" snowfall and it was beautiful. I walked into the house and actually gazed around for quite awhile, the pictures on here do NOT do this house justice. The house is beautiful and comfortable in many ways. The large dining room table and open space between the living area, kitchen, and dining area allows for the family to be spread out but still close by. Mountain Creek is about 3 miles away and a 10 minute drive. The entire area around the house was beautiful. My family is considering renting again during the warmer months and will definitely be back next February. On those real real cold nights in can be a bit chilly in the house, but there are 3 heating zones and plenty of blankets, and huge beautiful fireplace to help combat that. (We had our 14 month old daughter with us and she was just fine) Everything you could need is in the house. From utensils to towels. Kitchen and both bathrooms look like they were just renovated and are equally as nice as the rest of the house. GREAT TIME, Lots of family memories, and look forward to returning.

I can't recommend this house highly enough! The house was in immaculate condition, extremely comfortable, and absolutely beautiful. The owners have thought of literally everything a person could need to make their vacation complete. If you want to stay in an extremely peaceful, quiet, and comfortable environment you can't go wrong with this property. We will definitely be staying here again - I wouldn't even consider another house in the area.

We can only say great things about this place. The house and property are spacious and very well-kept. The owners are receptive to questions and requests. And the lake offers many outdoor activities for children and adults. We found it hard to stray during our stay, despite the bounty of nearby attractions. We would highly recommend it as a vacation destination for families and couples alike.

Fantastic house!

This house was a great find. It comfortably held three couples (and an infant) and could have easily held more. The house itself is in great condition, and the sunset view off of the lake was spectacular. Everything was exactly as advertised, and the owners were a pleasure to deal with.

There was plenty of cozy space for lounging and reading, and it's a stone's throw from the beach. All the appliances were in great condition and we really didn't need to bring much. The area was great, though its a few minutes from civilization, and not far from Warwick and Wawayanda State Park.

We would definitely stay again.

Perfect Family Holiday House

5 of 5
Submitted: July 11, 2010 Stayed: June 2009
We enjoyed a fabulous 2 week break in this beautiful, enormous and very well equipped house. The big draw is, of course, the magnificent lake which can be endlessly explored in the canoes & kayak provided (plenty life jackets to fit all ages in the well equipped garage.) The sunrises and sunsets are stunning! The garden is large and friendly - the kids can play happily. The house itself is beautiful! It is very spacious, comfortable, bright and airy. The rooms are tastefully decortated and very comfortable. Huge windows along the lakeside wall on both floors provide breathtaking views and glorious daylight. You are spoilt for choice with eating areas. A large dining table in the open plan sitting/kitchen/dining room will easily sit 12 at the main table, with a smaller table ideal for breakfast. Or you could eat outside on the raised wooden decking, or walk down the wooden steps, across the garden to the lakeside patio ..... dreamy! There are plenty of garden chairs and tables and there is even a hammock under a large tree. The house is incredibly well equipped, and you will find so much extra provided - charcoal & gas for the barbecues, laundry detergent, beach towels and beach passes for the private beach 2 plots up, etc. There are lots of books, toys and videos for kids up in the attic room, with a large TV where they can watch Star Wars undisturbed! There is a good library for grown ups too, and lots of cosy corners to sit in peace. An in house computer (mac) for your use, wifi, easy drive to the city and airport make it a great base for a mixed work/holiday break. The owners are very hospitable and thoughtful in their preparations for your break, making themselves available and happily answering any queries. The locals are friendly and helpful, and all amenities are close enough for convenience but far enough to help that "getting away from it all" feeling. The area is really beautiful, a car is a must, and exploring should be too! We are delighted to recommend this house as the ideal family holiday, and very much hope to return again.
ps - if you are lucky, you may even get to see some of the local black bears, and if you do, don't panic. They are more scared of you than you are of them!
