What a Weekend!

What a wonderful weekend my three childhood friends and I had at this "Charming Casita". The house had everything we needed including bottled water, half and half for our coffee, reading material, and best of all... LOCATION and a DRIVEWAY! We could walk just about everywhere in the South Congress area and enjoyed eating at Perlas and having cupcakes at Hey Cupcake. Dale, our landlord couldn't have been more accommodating and considerate. Thank you Dale for your generosity and kindnesses. You are the best!

This is a great place to stay in Austin... a true home away from home. The location is awesome, just a short walk from the hoppin' South Congress, but on a quiet street so you can sleep well and enjoy the greenery. The house is spacious, clean and tidy and well equipped.
We were 6 people reuniting for a friends wedding and it couldn't have suited us better... we all had space for suitcase explosions and pre-wedding primping and ironing, plus a great spot for photos at the front doorway covered in blossoms.
Thanks Dale for the coffee and muffins and the tips for getting around town. We'll be back!

Adorable Casita in the Heart of SoCo

I could not have been happier with my stay at the Casita. From beginning to end, our host was hospitable, gracious, communicative, and really went above and beyond to make our stay flawless.

From the onset, making arrangements could not have gone any smoother. Our host was prompt, courteous, and communicative. We had the details of our stay squared away within 24 hours. Then leading up to our stay, our host made sure to send us plenty of tips on where to eat, explore, and enjoy Austin.

When we arrived, out host made sure to stock up on coffee and tasty treats. The casita was adorable, clean, bright, and walking distance to some of the best spots Austin has to offer.

Overall, we had the BEST time, in no small part due to the Casita's fabulous location and our host's hospitable nature. It truly was a home away from home.

Honestly the Casita is the best place ever to stay in Austin. Walking distance to great places on S.Congress. Plenty of room for six with all the amenities of home. The backyard is great to hang out under the stars. And the owners are AWESOME. Very accommodating and willing to help with any questions you may have about what to do or where to go. We will definitely stay again. I can't wait for next time.
Thanks so much.

Friendly owner, great location, comfortable house

My family (two adults, two teens) stayed here for a few days immediately following Christmas. I like this part of town and was looking for a place close enough to South Congress that we wouldn't have to mess with parking for coffee/restaurant/shopping jaunts.

Dale's house was perfect for us. It's a very quick walk to 3-4 coffee shops and numerous restaurants and entertaining stores. The five-minute drive to downtown was convenient as well, particularly as we were attending a wedding and had several family engagements in that area.

The house itself was warm, comfortable, and well supplied. Each daughter had their own bedroom and there was plenty of room to spread out and get some space to ourselves. Dale kept in touch over our stay, which I appreciated, but we never encountered any issues that required attention.

I'm delighted with this property, and will certainly keep it at the top of my list when I again need a friendly place to stay in Austin.

Best regards,
Kevin

Our trip started off on the right note in working with Dale, who is owner of the house. Dale is an excellent communicator and is quick to help with suggestions. We met some friends of ours from Seattle who had never been to TX before, and they had an amazing time. The house is awesome! The location is amazing! We walked everywhere. There were five adults in our group and we had plenty of room. The house was clean, comfortable, and Dale even left us a small welcome gift.
We love Austin and can't wait to go back. I use VRBO a lot when we travel and I can't wait to stay here again! Thanks Dale!

SoCo Perfect

Wonderful place to stay! The location is absolutely great. It's only a few blocks off of South Congress and within easy walking distance to one of the best music venues in Austin....the Continental Club. If you prefer to go to Antone's, The Elephant Room, Threadgill's, The Driskill, or any of the other music venues downtown, it's a short drive, easily affordable by taxi. South Congress also is home to some of the best restaurants in Austin, not to mention the array of food trailers.

The house itself was very clean, with comfortable furniture and beds. It has a nice, shaded backyard equipped with a table, chairs, and grill. It also has a washer and dryer, fully equipped kitchen, and a very nice office space if you need to keep up with work or emails electronically. Even though it is located just a few blocks from busy South Congress, it is in a very quiet, residential neighborhood. The driveway can easily accommodate at least two cars.

Dale was an excellent host, providing us with breakfast food that lasted the entire week we were there. He also had bottled water, organic coffee and treats for the dogs. All the food was purchased from Whole Foods.

We definitely plan on staying here again on our next trip to Austin!

I can't say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay. Having been to Austin several times in the past, this was by far the best lodging option we have used. You are near everything and can walk to tons of good restaurants and shops, yet you have a place to park that doesn't cost an additional $30 a day. The owner provided everything we needed and addressed any issues quickly and efficiently. I would definatly stay here again.

Wonderful for all ages!

We gathered 4 generations (4 adults and 2 children) here, ranging in age from 80 to 2, and it was great for all of us! We all had big beds and the Pak-and-Play for the 2-year-old was most helpful. It was close enough to SoCo that we could walk there for dinner or shopping. It was also very close (a quick drive) to other stores for food and misc. items we forgot or needed. It was also conveniently located to the places we were interested in visiting - the capitol, the mall, the park, the Tinkerers' Fair, etc. The toys the owner provided were perfect for a 2- and 3-year-old. It was a quiet neighborhood at all times. We didn't think we'd need the washer and dryer but it turned out to come in handy!
A few things to keep in mind: The bathroom is VERY small. Parking on the street is impossible since others going to SoCo use it. The driveway is VERY narrow and a bit scary to drive in and out of. Since we had some downpours during our visit the back yard was unusable due to mud and wet furniture, but the driveway provided enough room for 2 small kids to play.
Dale, the owner, was very helpful and accommodating and I would recommend this property to anyone looking for someplace to call home in Austin.
