The first time I came to Honolulu I couldn't take my eyes off those houses on the ridges overlooking the Freeway. Dazzled by the views of the ocean and of Diamond Head from every direction, I couldn't help thinking, 'What must the view be like from up there?' Three years later the contractor who implemented my son's renovation plan for this house exclaimed about its 'billion-dollar view.' Today, cooled by the refreshing tradewinds, my husband and I study, cook, hike, swim and entertain, enjoying that view from every room, from the lanais and from the pool.
