Muskegon House Rental Photos and Description
House, 3 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, (Sleeps 6-8)

Lake Michigan home overlooks one of a few nationally rated clean and safe public beaches. A perfect starting point for lazy summer days on the beach. The house has extensive windows and two levels of decks overlooking beach and woods. The decks are equipped with tables and deck chairs. The interior is attractively furnished with plenty of comfortable seating. It has been described as 'like living in a tree house.' The house has been inspected and given a Certificate of Compliance by the City of Muskegon.

One can watch large ships, wind surfers, fabulous sunsets, stroll out to the Muskegon Light and Channel, visit the Silversides Submarine Monument and Museum, and eat at two beach side restaurants. Public boat ramps and charter fishing boats are near by. Space on property to park boat. Located 3 miles from the Cross Lake Ferry.

Home setting

The home, aka Sancheron LLC, sits on a shaded lot, the back side of the beach dune. There is parking for two cars on the driveway. Spacious decks are on two levels. The deck around the top floor (700 sq ft) has two picnic tables and a gas grill off the kitchen and scenic views off the living area. Children need to be monitored when on the decks due to height from ground level. The Beach Street neighborhood, Pere Marquette Park, is a mix of year round and vacation home residents. Quiet hours are observed after 10:00 pm .

Park description

Pere Marquette Park is a Nationally Designated Clean and Safe Beach (smoke and alcohol free) located just south of the Muskegon Channel. A quote from National Geographic Traveler: 'Two-mile-long Pere Marquette wide swatch of sole-soothing sand keep visitors active with volleyball nets, playground sets, and picnic areas. The water is pristine and salt-free. No jellyfish - - and no sharks. (A freshwater environment)'

Walk/biking trails and several playgrounds in the park. Various sizes of BICYCLES are available for renter's use. Strolling the beach, the pier to the lighthouse, and along the channel to Muskegon Lake are a must. Sand volley ball tournaments are held through out the summer, take a ball and enter in the fun.

Boating and Festivals

Bring your boat along and enjoy the beautiful sights from the water. Public boat launches are available on Muskegon Lake with access into Lake Michigan. Fishing for salmon, walleye, lake trout, and perch makes for a tasty dinner on the grill. Charter fishing boats are also available.

Brochures about area attractions and festivals are sent to renters and are also kept in the house. Google Muskegon County events for quick information.

This property is owned by Bruce & Cheryl Meyer. Cheryl inherited the property from her parents. It holds many family memories for us and our children and grandchildren. Currently, we live at a distance so we cannot make use of the home as often as we would like. We have chosen to rent it out Spring to Fall each year to help us maintain the property. We feel that it is a place that many others can enjoy and we are happy to have you as our guests.

Cheryl Meyer purchased this house in 2005

The home was built by our deceased parents circa 1968-70. Unique style of that era.

In the summer the decks with lake breezes are wonderful to have breakfast coffee, afternoon tea, cold drinks, and to grill meals. The view is lovely to observe beach activity and passing ships. The best is the extensive sugar sand beach to play on and to take long walks beside plus clear cool water for swimming. Children love the water, sand. and play grounds.

Our weekend stay at your beach house was fantastic. We had 4 couples and there was so much room. The house was so clean and welcoming. The beds were very cozy. We walked on the beach every morning and in the evenings we watched the awesome sunsets. The view from the deck was breath taking. We even walked to the museum and toured the USS Silversides. That was so educational. The brochures were very helpful in finding things to do in town. We thank you so much for the opportunity of using your home. We had a great time and would come back again.

Very Enjoyable Vacation @ Sancheron Beach House!

What a great family vacation we enjoyed at your Beach House, all 9 of us (5 adults, 4 grandchildren)!!
It is an excellent residential location, yet groceries and restaurants and ice cream shops are just minutes away.
We enjoyed breakfast on the deck overlooking the beach and lake and we "picniced" on the back deck in the evening - gas grill was a plus!!!
Went to the beach everyday - great weather - rode the Trolley into Muskegon, took bike rides (bikes provided), walked the shore and to the lighthouse, playgrounds nearby, picked blueberries at a "U-Pick" nearby, and spent a day on the dunes at Silver Lake - only 1 hr. north.
The house was very clean, contained everything we needed and very comfortable with our large group. Air-conditioning on both floors, although we only used it 3 days - didn't need it at night.
Thanks so much for sharing your lovely Beach House - we hope to return next year!!

We LOVE your place! A family reunion for our nephew's wedding. People came from North Carolina, Minnesota, Detroit, Traverse City and more places. This is the most well stocked, prepared, outfitted rental home I have
ever experienced. The grill & decks have been awesome to host dinners for our group. The weather has been incredible all week and we have rested and
have had so much fun!

Our trip around the lake!

What a beautiful place Lake Michigan is, made even better by our stay at this lake house! There were 4 of us staying here; me, my Wife and 2 boys aged 15 & 11. Having spent time in and driven from Chicago our weeks stay was to be our chill out week! We made the most of the bikes and the beach and certainly didn't get bored of the sunsets in the evenings.

We loved the quirkiness of this place, the house was very clean and well equipped and the owners where on site to greet us with a lovely warm welcome. We're from England (not New!) and enjoyed the warmth of all the people we met. A great place to stay and we will always have fond memories of our time spent here.

Things to do: We went to Michigan Adventures (great fun!), went go-karting, played crazy golf, visited USS Silverside, went to Grand Haven and watched the Musical Fountain. Chris from near Brighton, England!

Family Vacation 2010

As many have mentioned this is a very clean property. The view of Lake Michigan is wonderful from the front deck. Our family enjoyed riding the bikes, which were provided with the house. Silversides at the channel are within easy walking distance. We encountered several minks that live in the rocks on the pier. 3 deer came to visit us from the woods behind the house. The only drawback to the property was the lack of air conditioning in the hot weather. Many fans are provided. Our family had a great time!

"Thank you for such a wonderful stay at your beach house! The location was superb! We enjoyed the beach view from the front balcony and the "forest" view from the back balcony. We also appreciated how clean the house was and how well it was stocked house. We will definitely be back. :)"
