A delightful retreat

We spent a very happy month at Boxwood House, while visiting family and friends in the Bay area. The location was excellent, an easy drive from the Bay Bridge. From there we could go west across the bay to the city, or choose to drive through the Caldecott Tunnel to the East Bay. Alameda itself is charming, and offers a wonderful mix of history, architecture, relaxation, parks, beaches, bike trails, the aircraft carrier Hornet, (now a museum,) and plenty of interesting ethnic restaurants. Off the Grid food trucks visit Alameda every Saturday! Marti and Will, the owners of Boxwood House, were so generous with their attention to our needs and wants. We heartily recommend this rental for couples, business people, and families. Only caution is that the apartment has many fascinating objets d'art that very small children may want to examine closely. You would have to put them up high, out of reach.
