This was the third year we rented this home. The first year it was not clean upon arrival, so we took it in our own hands to clean the ceiling fans(especially the dining room) so the dust won't fly into our food. This was the worst ever though, when we arrived in July! Plus there was a 2 x 4 on the deck with nails sticking out, the chimnea had paper plates with food in it, the weeds were so high you couldn't sit out by the fire pit, to add salt in the wound the owner failed to tell us that we couldn't use the passes for the pool because he saves it for his family members!! So sit in the house and stare at the lake??!!
Owner's Response: First let me say my home was devastated by Super Storm Sandy. I didn't get a chance to go to the house as I would have liked. I am still repairing my home. As soon as I learned about the dusty fans I called the cleaning service and they took care of it and anything else that needed to be done. As for the amenity badges. They were never offered and as they said they rented the house twice before and never requested them. They knew someone that would let them use the amenities. Fawn Lake has gotten very strict in regard to letting renters use the amenities. I can only give out badges 3 times a year and I reserve them for family. The people they know could not get them in so they wanted passes from me. I told them I don't offer them to renters. No where does it say amenities are included. So they called me and complained and since they rented twice before I was able to get them the badges through Fawn Lake. I don't know why she said she didn't get them. There is a fee for the badges. Maybe they didn't want to pay for them. The fee is Fawn Lake's not mine. I also waived the cleaning fee and trusted them to clean the house to save them some money. There was absolutely no complaints the first 2 times they rented the house. You don't rent a house 3 times if you don't like it. I never ask anyone for a review. The other 3 positive reviews were all done on their own. The latest review came after these renters. I try very hard to make sure everyones stay is enjoyable.
