'Lenny's Place" was wonderful. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative to a hotel room. My trip was filled with many activities and it was great to feel like I was going home at the end of each day. The owner was very friendly and has been maintaining the property very well. It has very good access to mass transportation and nearby shopping and restaurant. If you want to stay in Harlem you cant beat "Lenny's Place".

I am informed about this apartment through my brother. My brother, his wife and their 12 years old son were stayed there during their summer vacation this year (summer of 2012). He insisted on me to stay there. I am so happy that I listened to his recommendation. I shared the apartment with one of my colleagues even it is a one bedroom apartment. I stayed at the room and he stayed in the living room. It is a bigger apartment then it is seen in the photos. You will find more than you have expected. It is more than the photos...The house is sooo clean, comfortable and the landlady, Barbara is a wonderful person. . Soooo helpful solve all the problems immediately ( actually we did not faced with problems). The house is well maintained. The location is also so convenient, the subway is just one minutes walk. You can reach Times Square in 15 minutes. The surrounding is also safe. The Appollo is nearby and Red Rooster, one of the best restaurants is just 5 minutes walk. CVS, Marshalls are 2 minutes walk. I highly recommend the apartment to everyone. Actually I have already started to recommend to my friends. I like everything about the house like it is my home:)

i was so pleased to have the opportunity to rent this absolutely wonderful apartment, during my visit to nyc in may 2012. the description lived up to expectations, and then some! we were greeted by our energetic and gracious hostess, and felt at home from the minute we stepped through the door.

the apartment is tastefully decorated, and has everything you need; microwave, washer/dryer, wifi, two separate sleeping areas... and on sundays, just open the window in the lounge and enjoy the gospel singing from across the road.

it was also sooo easy to get downtown every day. if we didn't take the bus (literally just around the corner), there were two subway choices within short walking distance. and shopping for groceries was also easy, just down by 116th street.

we had such an amazing adventure in nyc, and Lenny's Place was one of the highlights. i would definitely recommend it!!!

Lenny's place was for us - me and my 2 sons 11/13 - a warm and great home while visiting New York. We enjoyed coming HOME after al long day in this big city. The apartment is fully equipped - you won't miss a thing. Barbara is a very very nice, friendly and helpful host. We are definitely coming back!!!

This was our first trip to NYC and Barbara's apartment was perfect for my friend and I (2 women in our 50's). It was comfortable,quiet, very clean, tastefully decorated and a lovely haven to come home to after a long day of exploring the city. Barbara was helpful in orienting us to the city and responsive to our needs. The apartment is in a pleasant, interesting neighbourhood with some great restaurants and entertainment. It is close to the subway and bus, making it easy to get to other areas. The listing description is accurate. Having a quiet, comfortable place to get a good night's sleep was important for us and this place did not disapoint. I would recommend to a friend and would stay here again.

Barbara goes out of her way to may you feel more than just a guest!The place is extremely clean,warm and inviting!! The location is great to all the attractions in Harlem, by subway and the bus.You will love the place,you will not find this in any hotel..We went to Sylvias Resturant for breakfast, twice! The chicken and waffels are the rave,get them smotherd aka california style..We also went to the Lenox Lounge,to bad we are young and missed all the Greats of the past.Both are just a few minutes walk from the front door.We stayed their the day after NY lit up the tree at the Rockefeller Center,the lights were up all over the city,decorations everywhere,we now know why people flock to NYC for Christmas, and we cannot wait to return and when we do; we will be looking forward to staying at Lennys Place again,and make it an annual event!! Thank you Barbara for all your help and the great personal touches,fresh flowers,greeting basket,and pictures on the wall particularly loved ther WTC pic St. Andrew's in which Goerge Washington worshiped at.We cannot rave enough about Lennys Place, DO NOT MISS THE OPPORTUNITY TO STAY HERE!!

We absolutely loved staying here. The owner is so friendly and so helpful. She has everything in the place that you could possibly need! The place is styled so perfectly.... Just a perfect place to stay while visiting NYC!

We cannot found words for this high-quality accommodation. Very good styled rooms, tasefully designed, perfect technical equipment. The rooms are large, the furniture top. It is entirely unproblematic to use the subway or the bus to go to Upper Manhattan (20-25 minutes with the express.train). A super location to experience NYC and to sleep well, because it is quite enough in this neighborhood. We stayed for 8 nights. Perfect. But another highlight is Barbara, the absolutely friendly host, incredibly accommodating! Helpful and she prepared the appartment with city information in a large quantity, and the best: the welcome basket. We wrote it in top: no words for this location and its host, because she deserves 6 stars! A clear recommendation for a fair price. Thank you, Barbara
