Photos and Description of the Coeur d 'Alene vacation house rental
4 Bedrooms, 3 Bathrooms, Sleeps 10

Homeport is a spectacular waterfront, octagon shaped, cedar chalet with stone accents. It?s nestled in the side of the lush, quiet lakeside mountains with a bird's-eye-view of the distant city lights of the bustling Coeur D?Alene Town and Resort. The home features an open floor plan with Tempest Brazilian Hardwood floors, open natural wood beams and Italian granite counter tops in the baths and the gourmet kitchen. There are two gas log fireplaces, two laundries (on separate floors) and three large, full baths. The spacious master suite on the main floor has a luxurious master bath. It includes a deep, lounging tub with a waterfall spout and a separate shower with two soaking shower heads. The suite opens to the wrap around deck, where the lake views are absolutely magnificent! The second bedroom has twin beds. The large guest bath, also on the main floor, includes washer and dryer. The very large upper (3rd) level guest bedroom also has awesome, 180 degree lake views.

The very large, lower level suite features living quarters and entertainment environment that are nearly self contained. Offering a wet bar, ice maker, fireplace and poker game table, it also has a large plasma screen TV with surround sound and DVD player. With floor to ceiling windows, you will enjoy the beautiful lake views and all that Mother Nature has to offer. This area opens to a covered patio with a gas grill and fire pit. This is where you will find steps leading down to the 100? of private lakefront and docks. Jump off the docks into crystal clear fresh water. Put your Jet Ski, Kayak, or Row Boat on the separate jet ski lift for rapid launch and retrieval. Drop a line off the dock (no need for a license off the dock) with a very good chances of catching a small mouth bass. Temporary fishing license available for fishing off boats. Fly Fishing is renowned in and around Lake Coeur d'Alene. Bring your Cameras (both Photo and Video).

Bike Trails are exceptional with some running thru converted train tracks with marvelous mountain and lake views as well as close up views of remarkable wildlife. There is a large paved drive and immediately adjacent parking area. More than enough room for a motor home and miscellaneous recreational equipment such as ATV's, boat trailers, etc.Breakfast on the elevated, wrap-around deck off the kitchen/dining room while the swallows flying by; often landing on the railing to say hello. Several birds nests are nestled into crooks and crannies around the property. At night this is a fabulous place to watch extraordinary sunsets over cocktails. We often sit on the same deck into the wee hours of the cool summer nights (occasionally warmed by an cozy overhead propane heater) watching the sparkle of the Coeur d'Alene Resort lights. The moon views are arguably some of the best in the world. You will routinely see deer in and around the property.

Moose, wild turkeys, eagles, and many more of the Mountain's creatures can be seen around this part of the Lake.

Take a 5 min ride by car (or short boat ride) over to ''Eddy's,'' one of several nearby lakeside Restaurants. The local Country Store and Marina (''Hudsons'') is a mere 10 min car ride (or another short boat ride). Gas pumps for cars and also gas pumps for boats at the lower Marina.

There is an abundance of rental recreation equipment available around the greater Coeur d'Alene Town area ( boat, ATV, motor home, jet ski, kayak, etc.).

Well over 100 miles of shore line to explore not to mention the many surrounding rivers and streams offering boating, kayaking, and fishing delight.

This is our ''dream'' home away from home. We know you will make very special memories with family and friends. Memories that will surely last a lifetime!

Last August, our family stayed at Homeport, and we loved it! The place was meticulously clean, very beautifully appointed with much attention to detail. The truly expansive view is one of a kind. The lake was exceptionally clear and enticing. The dock was wonderful to swim off of and large enough to provide easy maneuverability for any kind of watercraft. The open concept living room area was a great place for the family to share favorite activities. Many wonderful memories were created for all. The A|C worked great, and the electronic blinds were a great addition. There's convenient access to the house and plenty of spacious parking. We loved and appreciated the opportunity to enjoy this house with our family.

Would not recommend this property

Our family vacationed here for one week in July. The location overlooking the lake provided for beautiful views, unfortunately that was the only positive thing we saw in the property. We did not find our accomodations acceptable for the following reasons: The downstairs was musty and smelled of mold. Our children slept there the first night, and were very ill the next day. The property manager did come when called, and said she could smell the mold as well, and brought a charcoal room freshner over for us to use, however we did not use the lower floor for the remainder of our week as we were concerned for the health of our kids. The large TV did not work - this was fixed on the fourth day of our stay. Basic maintenance was lacking - dirty BBQ tools in the BBQ, burnt out lights bulbs in the house. The property manager did bring a lamp for use in the loft where bulbs were burnt out - as she did not have a ladder so could not change the bulbs? This property advertises as being handicap accessible, however the lift for those unable to manage the stairs within the cabin was not operational - this resulted in visitors that we had during our stay unable to access the bottom level of the home, as well as the ground level patio area. The grounds were poorly maintained - BBQ patio was overgrown with weeds, flowers in the flower beds were dead. The roadway between the home and the dock is really a very busy highway - important to note especially for renters who have small children - we were concerned for the safety of our teenagers as the crossing is right after a curve in the highway. Would definitely not recommend this location for families with young children. We received our security deposit promptly, and the owner did send an extra $100 for the inconveniences we incurred, however
we would not recommend this property.
Owner's Response: We were absolutely alarmed to have received this review. We have had hundreds of guests stay at our home and have had volumes of positive compliments sent to us along with guests who return to our home for another vacation. In the years that we have been renting, this is our first negative review. Our tenants’ comfort, happiness, and satisfaction are our priority.

We investigated the very hidden source of the musty smell that occurred that week, and it turned out to be standing moisture from the AC unit that we were not aware had been leaking (which we immediately fixed). We certainly regret that the tenant’s children were sick during their stay; however, the sickness was never confirmed to be related to our house in any way. In fact, without delay, we paid to have a complete mold check of our home. Results from this mold check show that there are absolutely no mold problems (present or potential). If necessary, we are happy to send this mold-check summary to any prospective tenants.

Unfortunately, at the time of this tenant’s stay, the satellite box for our downstairs DirectTV malfunctioned. A new box had to be ordered and the tenant’s stay was over before the new box arrived. During this time, there was access to another television with full service.

We have always been very forthcoming about where our home is in relation to the lake and the dock. On our vacation rental website page, we have always had pictures with written descriptions explaining that, like most homes in the area, there are stairs to the lake/our dock and that a two-lane road separates the bottom of the stairs from the dock.

Our manager was completely unaware of the tenant’s dissatisfaction with the state of the barbeque tools. Our handicap lift for our stairs does work and was fully operational at the time. A call to our onsite manager to let her know about the barbeque and for instructions on how to use the lift would have quickly remedied these issues.

Our home is beautifully maintained and managed. The pictures and the video you see on this website are exactly what our home looks like. Our very friendly and accommodating on-site manager takes pride in presenting a sparkling-clean, beautiful home to all our guests. She always lets our guests know that she is just a phone call away for any concerns or questions.

We had a wonderful week staying at "Homeport." The home is beautiful and the scenery and views are second to none. The location in the bay is nice, with very calm waters - especially in the evening. A seven minute boat ride to the Coeur d'Alene resort, a five minute boat ride to Eddy's Bar & Grill, and a fifteen minute boat ride to our favorite on-the-water destination - Shooters. We highly recommend the Coeur d'Alene lake experience and Homeport. We hope to be back again next year.
