About OWNER

In 2002 we were searching for accommodations for our daughter's sophomore year at UT and decided to invest if we could find a condo we liked. We were very lucky to have found our fabulous townhome just as the newly married seller was preparing to move into another home he purchased. This beautiful Clarksville property atop Castle Hill has had only two young professional friends as renters since 2006. Career moves ended their tenancy.

We now offer this property to all who enjoy a home away from home (only better), a

relaxing, peaceful living environment in one of Austin's most desirable neighborhoods. We love it here and know you will love your stay as well.

OWNER purchased this townhome in 2002
What makes this townhome unique

Our condo is in the best possible location for visitors and residents alike. We are centrally located- a $5.00 cab ride takes you downtown and to all the best known Central Austin locations including University of Texas, South Congress Avenue (known as SOCO) and the legendary 6th Street Music Scene known for the many clubs, bars and restaurants. In keeping with the peaceful and quiet atmosphere of the Clarksville area, you will find our condo tastefully decorated in natural hues of taupe, light gray and cream throughout the unit incorporating natural slate and tile on the entry, dining room, kitchen and bathroom floors. The unit is 1800 square feet with 14' high vaulted ceilings on the upper most floor, adding to its spacious and light decor and to your comfort as a visitor. All the comfort of home away from home.

Just wanted to let you know that we had a great time in your condo at 1200 F Castle Hill last Wed-Sat. We left everything in order, and the keys in the lock box.

Good News/Bad News/Overall

Good news: great location, wifi available, quiet neighborhood, comfortable beds, convenient to shopping and downtown area, maintenance guy very responsive to calls for help.

Bad news: "all cooking utensils available" is quite mis-leading. Not unreasonable to expect that a vegetable peeler and at least one serving spoon would be available. The carpeting could use some cleaning. The dish washer didn't work (Bobbie the maintenance guy fixed it after being called). Extremely small garage with difficult access. If you rent a car for your stay, be sure that it is a rather small one. The living room furniture was uncomfortable and inadequate. The owner was a little quirky to deal with and didn't return voice mails messages or respond to e-mail inquiries very promptly. Prior to our arrival she returned our deposit check to us without explanation. After inquiring on this, she asked that we mail it back to her. Not sure what that was about.

Overall: An incredible location and an OK stay. Spending a few hundred dollars on the part of the owner to clean carpets and completely furnish the kitchen would have made the stay much more pleasant.
Recommended for:  Tourists without a Car
Owner's Response: This negative review was posted just as guests, by their own admission, informed us that they caused what ended up costing $800.00 in garage door damage.

Again, thanks for everything.
