We enjoyed our 2 week stay. We have been staying in Union Pier annualy for 20 years. The cottage was in "better than most" condition. The furnishings were more than adequate. The kitchen & bathroom while outdated were serviceable. The location, though not on the beach was very close. Access to the private beach without going through the public beach would be nice. Parking is tight but worked out fine.
Vilma was very helpful.

Garbage disposal could be improved. The available containers weren't adequate for the volume generated.

Overall it's been a great stay.

Our stay in the Two Story Beach House

This is the second year that my family and I rented the two story beach house in Union Pier. We love coming and my granddaughter refers to it as "The Beach House".

The grounds and house are clean and inviting. The design of the house serves our purposes beautifully. Some of our family stay and others have been able to come for a day, enjoy the house and beach and leave.

The furnishings are old but adequate and one would expect that in a cottage. The availability of a washer/dryer is very helpful especially since we have little ones and they tend to go through things quickly.

The TV worked intermittently. We were not sure if the weather had something to do with that. We do not come to a beach house to watch TV, but this year we were staying tuned in to the Olympics and missed a few of the programs.

The kitchen is adequate, however, the pots/pans are old and there were not enough of them. In my perfect world, there would be a large pot, smaller pot, large fry pan and a smaller fry pan with lids. The blender did not work. (We brought our own.) I enjoy keeping the environment clean while we stay and Vilma did bring a vacuum cleaner but it too is quite old and probably did not do as good a job of picking up the sand. We only used the dishwasher once.

The location and house are beautiful and a treat to experience but the cost is becoming more difficult for middle class working people. Is there any chance of offering a discounted rate to returning patrons? To senior citizens? Once you are finished laughing at my suggestion, please consider it.

All in all, we absolutely love coming to the house and look forward to doing this annually. Vilma is a delight. She is pleasant and very accommodating. She makes herself available and responds to our inquiries immediately.

Sincerely, Nijole Pabst
